Merry Patterns, Christmas Around the World, Christmas Card

I was wondering what I was going to do with the Decorative Series Paper (DSP) with all the fruit cake and other goodies images on it. It's from the "Christmas Around the World" 12" x 12" pack.  It was one of the sheets that didn't do much for me.  But when I saw this card I thought I'd play with it.  The other side of the paper is the plaid paper you see at the bottom under the words.  I found this card on Pinterest.  You can see the original here.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Chocolate Chip card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of the DSP.  I cut a 1-1/2" piece of the plaid DSP and taped it over the baked goods DSP.  I did wrap a piece of the red mini tinsel trim around the card and I taped the edges on the backside using scotch tape.

I stamped the words from the "Merry Patterns" using Basic Black ink on the first image and then the "season" was stamped using Real Red ink.  I trimmed that piece to 3-3/8" x 1-5/8".  The Chocolate Chip layer behind it was cut 3/16" larger 3-9/16" x 1-13/16"). I thought an 1/8" was too thin of a border and 1/4" was too thick so I went in between them and got just the right thickness of a border.

I do like how the card turned out and I was glad that I was able to sue that paper.  It seems that there is always at least one sheet of DSP in a pack that is more difficult to work with than other.  This one was the one I thought was the toughest.  But I was at least able to use it!!!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
