Sky is the Limit Graduation Hat Fold Technique

Don't look at the clip on the left of the cap.  It is there to hold the card completely closed so I could take as flat a photo as possible. Now that you're ignoring it, let me tell you about this card!!!

I've always wanted to make one of those graduation cap cards.  I don't often need graduation cards but it's nice to know how to make one with the cap when you do need one. Not all graduations happen in June anymore (when the card companies have their graduation cards out).  This is a fun card because on the inside there is a pocket to put a gift card or cash for the graduate.  You can also write on the top inside of the cap so the bottom part stays nice looking, plus you don't have to try to keep your words in a little area hoping that you didn't write too much and it shows when the cap is down.

The words I used here are from the "Sky is the Limit" set from the 2016 Sale-a-Bration catalog.  The words inside the cap are from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set.  There's not a lot of graduation sets available and there's not a lot of sets with wording that will work either.  You sometimes have to be very creative!!!

I found some super easy instructions to make this cap card here on YouTube.  You'll be amazed at how simple it is.  I used a scrap piece of card stock (by scrap I mean, a large piece that was ruined) and I could have just used a regular good piece because it worked out the very first try!!

Now I can make a graduation card any time I need one!!  And it's even better than the store one because it has a pocket!!

Updated 2-15-16:  Sorry, I forgot to add the YouTube video link.  It's now there so you can have fun making these!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

I don't see a link for the YouTube video on how to construct the graduation card such as dimensions and folding.
Did you leave it off or am I missing it? Very clever.

So cute!!!! I'd love to see the details on YouTube but for some reason on mine the link wasn't there. Could you send it to me? Thanks for sharing!
