The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Real Red card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
I cut a piece of Granny Apple Green card stock that measures 3-3/4" x 5". On top of that is a piece of Basic White measuring 3-5/8" x 4-7/8". I textured it with a snowflake die that I had.
Using the 3rd smallest die in the "Party Banners" set I cut it from the center of the Granny Apple Green piece. Then I taped the textured piece to the Granny Apple Green large layer.
Then I took the 6th largest die and cut a piece from the "A Stitched Season" 12" x 12" package of Designer Series Paper (DPS). I taped the Granny Apple Green banner piece to the bottom of the DSP piece. Then that was taped to the Basic White piece. I added the ribbon. I cut a piece about 4-1/2"long and taped the ends to the back of the piece. I tied a bow and set it aside. Once everything was taped down I taped all of it on the front of the card base.
The Basic White circle was cut next. I used the bulb die in the "Merriest Tags" bundle. I textured it using the "Softly Woven" embossing folder after it had been cut. I cut a 2-3/8" circle using Real Red card stock. I glued the two circles together.
Next came the stamped items. The candy canes were stamped using Real Red ink, the stockings and greenery were stamped using Basic Black ink. I colored the stockings with my Real Red marker (yup, I kept my markers). The berries were colored in Real Red and the leaves were colored using Garden Green.
I glued one candy cane to the loop of the bulb so it wouldn't show. Then arranged the rest of the pieces as much as I could to look like the ones on the original card and I glued them in place. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card.
The bow was then glued on and some red rhinestones were added. And the card was done.
When I had a play date with a friend I had stamped these images to use later. Well, when I saw this card in my email, it was now "later". So I got out the pieces and colored them and then proceeded to get the other supplies I had in my stash to put the card together. I have lots of pieces from various sets to play with at a later date! It's fun when we share what we have so we don't have to buy our own sets but can still play with lots of sets! Gotta love play dates!
Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Christmas card,
Wanda
