Poppy Moments, Framed For You, Ornate Frames, Thinking of You Card, Corner Flip Technique

Today I wanted to play with the "Corner Flip" technique.  You can find the instructions on how to do it here.  It's pretty easy once you know what you are doing. I suggest trying it out on a half-sheet of copier paper first.  Then write how you did it on that piece of copier paper and save it for future reference.

The base of my card is a half-sheet of Whisper White.  Before you fold it in half you are going to want to do your scoring.  Though I have been able to do it with it folded, so I really don't think it matters.  The easiest way I found to do this was to take the long side of the card stock and set it in your paper trimmer (not paper cutter) so the left edge is on the 3" mark.  Move your blade to the 4-7/8" and cut up to the 2-1/2" mark.  Turn your card stock so the short end is on top and the left side of the card is on the 3" mark.  Set your blade to the 3" mark and cut up to the 5/8" mark.  You are cutting on the front of the card. Once I could see what part of the card I was cutting it made more sense to me.
Now you can fold your card in half.  Or you can wait until you flip that cut corner. I fold mine in half first.  Open the card and at the bottom left corner of the half square you cut you are going to push inward.  The corner area will start to flip. Keep pushing until you can line up both sides equally. Use your bone folder to make nice sharp creases on the top and right side of those folds.

I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Ornate Flowers" 6" x 6" paper pack at 4" x 5-1/4".  I set it on top of the front of my card and marked under that fold line where I needed to trim off the upper right corner.  I added a photo of how it looked after it was cut. I taped the DSP to the front of the card.  Then I flipped my corner and taped it in place.

I took a piece of the new "Misty Moonlight" card stock and cut it too small!  I had gotten a sample and I should have measured better but it is what it is and I managed to work with it as it was.  I cut my piece 2-1/4" x 2-1/4"  2-1/2" x 2-1/2" would have been ideal.  I taped the card stock to the flipped part.  Don't tape the entire piece (like I did). You can only tape the bottom part of you will tape the card shut.  I didn't tape my card shut, I caught what I did before that. SO I cut a  2-1/4" x 2-1/4" piece of Whisper White and stuck it over that piece on the inside.

I punched out two Daffodil Delight flowers from the "Large Daisy" punch and I glued them together. And I punched out two out of Bumblebee card stock using the "Medium Daisy" punch.  I glued those two together.  I also punched out two flower centers using Cinnamon Cider card stock.  I glued them to the center of the flowers and then I colored the centers using my Wink of Stella pen.  DO NOT squeeze your Wink of Stella pen. I have LOTS of glitter on the center of my flower. I thought I could lift some of it off after it dried. I took some scotch tape, it only took a little off.  So that is what it is too! It looks okay, just really sparkly!!!

I die cut two leaves from the "Poppy Moments" dies using Just Jade card stock. I am almost out of my sample pieces and I'm thinking of getting the variety pack in my next order.  The Paper Pumpkin kit from May 2020 came with Misty Moonlight ink so I'm part of the way there!  There's other colors of ink that will blend in and there's always black for the words too.  I taped the leaves in place and then set the flowers on top using Dimenisonals.

The words are from the "Framed For You" set. I stamped them using black memento ink on Whisper White card stock.  I die cut them using the "Ornate Frames" dies.  I set the words in place using Dimensionals.

I also added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Very Vanilla to the inside because there was just too much white. I'm not thrilled with that look but it is what it is (once again!!!).

This was a fun card to make and I do like the look of the flip card.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by today,
Wanda
