Perennial Essence, Beautiful Friendship, Birthday Card

While looking in my workroom at the tons of Designer Series Papers (DSP) that I have, many being retired,  I realized I need to come up with a card that will use a big piece of the DSP and yet make a nice card.  "Perennial Essence" DSP is SO pretty, SO pretty in fact that I bought two packages of it and have only opened one.  Hmmm.  Hence the desire to find a card that took up a lot of the DSP.  I have lots of Christmas DSP too but I won't be making any Christmas cards for my blog. It's time for pretty fun bright spring and summer colored cards!

The base of my card today is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Flirty Flamingo card stock.  And the DSP, from the "Perennial Essence" pack was cut at 3-3/4" x 5".

Before taping the DSP to the Flirty Flamingo piece, I die cut the scalloped circle.  Yup, I remembered to do it but I didn't remember to try to do it towards the center. I did it towards the edge but at least I had it in far enough so the DSP covered it.  Caught a break there!  After taping the two pieces together I added a strip of the ribbon to the front and taped the edges on the backside.  Then I tied a bow and used a glue dot to tape it to the ribbon.  This is my least favorite ribbon of all time.  It's very pretty, soft with fuzzy dots but it's very difficult to work with. It's very flimsy and is hard to pull the bow nice.  I have about 1/3 of a spool left and I will not be ordering any more of it.

After taping the ribbon on, I taped the two layers to the card base.

Next I stamped the words from the "Beautiful Friendship" set using black Memento ink on Whisper White card stock.  I taped the words to the Flirty Flamingo scalloped circle and set it in place using Dimenisonals.  And that was it.

It's a super quick and easy card to make that allows you to use up a nice size piece of DSP!

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda

I, too, have lots of DSP and this card is a great way to use some of it. Thanks for the pretty and quick card design. Enjoy your day!
