Beautiful Friendship, Birthday Card, 2019-2020 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I found today's card on the internet.  You can see the original card here.  I did make a few minor changes.  One by a mistake. OOPS!!!

I didn't have any colors or measurements to go by so here is how I made the card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Gorgeous Grape card stock.  This card is folded on the left and opens on the right.  On top of that I cut a 5-1/4" x 3" piece of Highland Heather Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the 6" x 6" Subtles pack.  The DSP was to be cut 5-1/2" not 5-1/4".  But I used it anyway.  I went to my cutter thinking 4-1/4" and after setting the paper in the cutter, the 4-1/4" looked wrong and I knew it had to be 5, not 4 so I cut it 4-1/4" instead of 5-1/2".  Oh well, it is what it is and I worked with it.  I wasn't going to toss it out and I could have used the other half of the DSP but then I'm stuck with a cut piece I am not sure what I would so with, so I used it. That's my story there!

I cut a 3" x 4" piece of Soft Sea Foam card stock.  And the Whisper White piece was cut 2-7/8" x 3-7/8".  I stamped the flower image first using Highland Heather ink.

Next I stamped the leaves. I used both leaf images in the set and Soft Sea Foam ink to stamp them. At first I thought the ink might be too light but as it turns out, it's perfect.  Nice and soft looking.

Then I stamped the other flower images using Crushed Curry ink.  I'm not sure if the original card used Daffodil Delight or Crushed Curry. It looked a bit on the darker side so I went with the Crushed Curry.

I taped the layers together and then wrapped some linen thread around it a couple of times and tied a bow.

I stamped the words on a piece of Whisper White card stock using Highland Heather ink.  I die cut them with the Stitched Oval die, it was the second largest one in the set.  I set the words in place using Dimensionals.

I didn't have any purple sequins so I used some retired dots and they blended in well enough.  And that was it.

This was a quick and simple card to make.  I REALLY like this "Beautiful Friendship" set.  I have regrets about buying SO many of the sets in the new catalog. I never get to play with them enough before the holiday catalog comes out.  And then after that one is done, it's Sale-a-Bration time and then the next catalog.  My plan was to not buy so many because I wouldn't use them enough and I'm right. In a few days the holiday catalog comes out and that means a couple more weeks of these stamp sets and then the newest stuff will arrive and I will be playing with them.  I made my wish list and I was very picky with it.  (like I should have been with the catalog).

I did have fun making this card and I could see myself making more.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
