Painted Season, Just Because, Thinking of You Card, 2019 Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog

Here's a sweet and easy card for today's post.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Pear Pizzazz card stock.  And the Whisper White focal piece measures 3-7/8" x 5-1/8".

I stamped the flowers from the "Painted Season" set using Melon Mambo ink.  I also made a couple of mask by stamping on some post it notes and fussy cutting around them.  A tip when making masks:  Be sure to cut inside the lines. I cut about 1/16" inside the lines.  That way when you set the mask down you will get a nice close stamped image. If you look at the flower on the bottom right. Look at the petal around the 10 o'clock position. See how close the leaf is to the petal?  Now look at the same flower around the 6 or 7 o'clock position.  I didn't cut enough away on the mask and you can see a gap between the leaf and the petal.  I know, you probably wouldn't have noticed it had I not pointed it out to you but I'm showing you why it's best to cut away a bit more of the image.  In time you will learn about how much to cut away to get that nice flushed look.

I had stamped the leaves from the same set using Pear Pizzazz ink.  The Granny Apple Green ink may have been a bit brighter but I'm not quite ready for that bright of green right now!

The words are from the "Just Because" set.  I wanted some larger "Thinking of You" wording but couldn't find any stand alone ones.  So I took these from the "Just Because" set and masked off the flower pot.  I did set this up in my Stamparatus so I could get them straight but I wasn't paying attention to getting them more centered.  But it's okay. I like how the card turned out and that's what counts!

This was a fun card to make and super easy and quick!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

Is it hard to get a good image with the Painted Seasons stamps? thank you.

No, Debbie. It's not hard to get a good image. If you are using the new stamp pads, the foam ones, just don't press the image into it. Gently tap on the ink pad. Test it on a piece of scrap paper first. You need to learn how hard not to stamp on those new pads. It just takes a little practice that's all.

Since I can't reply to questions on here, this is the only way I can do it. My email address is on the right sidebar if you'd like any further information.
