Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a quick and pretty birthday card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card here. The link does not take you to any information on how it was made so I had to wing it. Please read on to see how I made this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. 

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Thoughtful Journey" 6" x 6" stack. I taped it to the front of the card.

The next layer is a piece of DSP from the "Thoughtful Designs" 12" x 12" package and was cut at 4" x 3-1/2". And the Basic White layer was cut at 4-1/8" x 3-5/8".  I taped the layers together and then taped that to the front of the card making it equal on all four sides. You can measure it, I just eye it.

Next I cut a piece of DSP from the "Thoughtful Journey" 6" x 6" stack. I cut 2" from the left side of that image sheet and I cut the top off so it measured 2" x 4-1/2".  The Basic White layer behind it was cut at 4-1/8" x 4-5/8" and the two layers were taped together. It was then taped to the front of the card. It is about 3/4" from the fold and about 7/16" from the top edge. I just eye it and tape it in place. The card has a lot of things going on with color and elements that no one will notice if it's not completely centered. They will notice if it's crooked! (guaranteed!). 

I took some Baker's Twine and folded it in half and tied a double bow. Each bow is about 1-1/2" long. I opened them up a bit and then set it in place using a glue dot.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I used the matching die to cut them out. There is a punch too but I opted for the die because you got three of them for the same price as the punch. I think it was the same price. I just thought I'd like the dies better and I do. Using the same die I cut one using a scrap piece of Petunia Pop card stock. I cut the piece in half the long way. I added tape to the back of the word piece and then taped the halves to the top and bottom of it. Dimensionals were added the back and the piece was set in place over the bow.

For the embellishments I had to really wing that. I didn't have the ones used on the original card. So what I did was I took three pearls and my dark Fresh Freesia Blends Pen and colored them in. I didn't have the Petunia Pop Blends because I just can't justify buying them because they will retire and they are a little expensive.  I gave the pearls a minute to dry and then I set them in place on the front of the card.  And the card was done.

I just thought this card was SO pretty and I just had to make it. It's also versatile so you can use it for other occasions.

Simply Said, Thoughtful Designs, Thoughtful Wishes, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a super quick and easy card for you to make. I found it on Pinterest and you see the original card here.  What turned me onto this card the most is that I can use my scraps of Designer Series Paper (DSP) and make a pretty card!  Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the right. I cut a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of Basic White card stock for the top layer.

Using the second smallest square in the "Stylish Shapes" set I cut 3 squares from the "Thoughtful Designs" 12" x 12" package of DSP.  I taped them to the left side of the 5" x 3-3/4" piece of Basic White card stock. 

I stamped the words next. They are from the "Simply Said" set using Pretty Peacock ink. 

Next I cut the swag type piece from the "Thoughtful Wishes" bundle using Basic White card stock. I added glue to the largest parts of the piece and set it in place on the front of the card.

The 5" x 3-3/4" piece was added to the front of the card base using Dimensionals.

I added some crystal rhinestones and the card was done!

This was so fun to make, so quick and so easy. I can see using this with lots of scraps of DSP and using different sentiments for other occasions. It's a very versatile layout.

Labeled With Love, Simply Said, Flowers of Beauty, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. I saw it on Pinterest and I really liked how it looked so I thought I'd give it a try. You can see the original card here.  I made some changes, mostly due to supplies on hand. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Pretty Peacock card stock.  Then I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Designer Series Paper (DPS) from the "Thoughtful Designs" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to Pretty Peacock piece. Then I taped that to the card base.

A 3-1/8" x 3-1/8" piece of Pretty Peacock card stock was cut for the layer. If I were to make another card I would cut the piece at 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" because I didn't like the spacing between the strips. Those strips are cut from a 3" x 3" piece of DSP from the "Thoughtful Journey" 6" x 6" stack and then cut in 1" strips. I taped the strips to the layer. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were cut using the die from the "Labeled With Love" bundle. Black Memento ink on Basic White card stock was used to make the word piece. I set it aside.

The Basic White "greenery" is from the "Flowers of Beauty" bundle. I added a little glue to the larger areas of the piece and set it in place on the front of the card. 

I added Dimensionals to the bottom of the word piece and a little tape to the top and set the piece in place on the front of the card.

A piece of Basic Black Baker's Twine was used to make the bow. It was set in place using a glue dot.

A few pearls were colored using the dark Pretty Peacock Blends pen and they were set in place on the front of the card.  And the card was done.

I do like how the card turned out but would do the layer for the strips 1/8" larger. It was fun to make and I can see myself making more in the future.

Spotlight on Nature, Cutest Cows, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I have a quick and simple card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card here. Please read on to see how I made the card. I did change it a little.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. The original card used a half-sheet of Boho Blue card stock. I prefer to use Basic White as my card base because it saves on the colored card stock (which is more expensive) and I still have to add a piece of Basic White on the inside to write on. My card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and a piece of Boho Blue card stock. I textured the Basic White piece using the "Exposed Brick" embossing folder. Then I trimmed the card to 5-1/8" x 3-3/4".  I glued the Basic White piece to the Boho Blue piece and then I taped that to the front of the card base.

Next I took a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Countryside Inn" 12" x 12" package. I was gifted this DSP and I've been having fun finding cards on Pinterest to use it up.  My piece was cut at 5-1/8" x 2". I glued that to the right side of the textured Basic White piece. 

The flowers are from the "Spotlight on Nature" bundle and were stamped using black Memento ink. I colored them in using my "Blender Pen" and Boho Blue ink. I don't purchase the Blends Pens or markers of in-colors because it gets too expensive. Most of the time I purchase the ink refill bottles and empty cubes. This way it cuts down on costs for me so I can buy more stamp sets!!  Anyway, I colored in the flowers using Boho Blue ink and the leaves were colored in using Granny Apple Green ink. I do have the Blends pens in that color but opted to use the Blender Pen instead. Once the coloring was done I cut them out using the second largest die in the "Spotlight on Nature" bundle.  

The words are from the "Cutest Cows" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I cut them using the second smallest die on the second set of circles in the "Spotlight on Nature" bundle.  That die set comes with 12 circle dies, 6 on each card that comes in the set. 

Dimensionals were added to the back of the large circle and it was set in place on the front of the card. The top edge of the circle is about 3/4" from the top edge and has equal distance on each side.

The word piece was added next using Dimensionals on the bottom and sides and tape on the upper top. It was set in place on the front of the card.

I took a piece of Night of Navy Baker's Twine (retired), tied a bow and set it in place on the front of the card using a glue dot that was folded over so it didn't show. And that was it, the card was done. Wasn't that quick?

This was a fun card to make. I love how it looks and how easy it was to put together.

Unbounded Love, Thoughtful Journey, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I have an update on my hip replacement surgery. I saw the surgeon yesterday and the bandage was removed. I didn't want to look!  LOL It's healing nicely and I can resume all of my regular daily duties, even driving! My balance is great and I am walking pretty normal, it's not quite perfect but the muscles and the area is still swollen so it will take a little longer to be "normal". But for the most part I'm off and running and happy with the progress. It's such great news and I just had to share it with you.  Now onto today's card. 

I have a quick and simple birthday card to share with you.  It was supposed to be a sympathy card but I picked up the wrong wording so now I have a birthday card. I do have the other half of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) so I can make the card I need after I get done posting this one. I won't share it here since it will look a lot like this one. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Boho Blue card stock. 

The DSP is from the "Thoughtful Journey" 6" x 6" stack. I cut the piece in half and then cut that strip at 5". I also textured a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock using the "Distressed Tile" embossing folder. I cut that piece at 5" x 1-1/2". I glued that strip to the left of the Boho Blue piece and the DSP was glued to the right. I taped that piece to the front of the card.

The words are from the "Unbounded Love" bundle. I stamped them on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using Mossy Meadow ink. I cut them out using the die from the "Unbounded Love" bundle. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card.  And that was it, the card was done.

This is such a super quick and easy card to make.

Spotlight on Nature, Simply Said, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a friendship card to share with you. I found it on Pinterest but there was no link so I had to guess at what colors were used. I think I got it close. You can see the original card here. 

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Pretty Peacock card stock, once cut it measured 4-1/4" x 11". I thought it might have been Lost Lagoon but that color didn't go as well with the Designer Series Paper (DSP) as the Pretty Peacock did. My card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. 

I cut two 4" x 5-1/4" pieces of Basic White card stock.  One was taped to the inside and the other was used to stamp the flowers from the "Spotlight on Nature" bundle using black Memento ink. On a separate piece of Basic White card stock I stamped the butterfly and the leaves both using black Memento ink.

Next I cut a piece of DSP from the "Thoughtful Designs" 12" x 12" package.  I cut the center out using the die from the "Spotlight on Nature" bundle. I used the second largest die. Then I took the next smaller one and lined it up on the center of the piece that was cut out and I cut it. Now I had a ring, you need to save that ring, oh and line it up with the design on the DSP. That part was difficult for me because I removed the ring and didn't think about it lining up until much later. I used some post it tape to hold the ring in place.

The coloring came next. I colored the images in using my light Lost Lagoon Blends pen and then added some highlights using my light Pretty Peacock Blends pen. I fussy cut the butterfly and the leaves.

The DSP was taped to the stamped flower piece. I did have to trim the flower piece because it hung over the DSP. The ring was added using some glue. I taped this piece to the front of the card.

I used Versa Mark for the word piece and heat embossed some white embossing powder. I used the second smallest die to cut it out of the Pretty Peacock card stock. I also cut a Basic White piece using the same die. I taped the two circles together, offsetting them a bit. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.

The leaves and butterfly were fussy cut. The leaves were taped in place under the two circles and the butterfly was added with Dimensionals.

A few pearls were added to the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a pretty simple card to make and I love playing with the "Spotlight on Nature" bundle.

Simply Said, Wildly Flowering, Thank You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. I had ordered another package of this paper and it's sitting on my table waiting for me to finish the first package! It was on sale. What would you do? LOL You can see the original card here. I changed it a bit. I was looking for a quick and easy thank you card to make because I need to send a few out. There was no link to the original card so I had to wing it. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Crumb Cake card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White for the inside and a 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" piece of Basic White for the top layer.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Wildly Flowering" 12" x 12" package.  I cut the top piece at 3-1/4" x 3-3/8".  The piece on the bottom is the backside of the top piece and it was cut at 1-3/8" x 3-3/8".  I cut it that size because it was what was left from cutting the larger pieces. I could have trimmed it down to match the original card but I didn't want to have any waste. In doing that I had to use that area for the words instead of pearls. I taped the DSP pieces to the Basic White piece. 

I took some retired ribbon I had and taped the ends to the back and slipped a piece of ribbon under it on the front and tied a knot. I trimmed the ends. I like these kinds of knots because you can slide the piece across the ribbon and put it exactly where you want it on the front of the card.

Dimensionals were put on the back of the piece and it was set in place on the front of the card base. 

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped on a piece of Basic White card stock using Misty Moonlight ink. I cut them out using a die from the "Stylish Shapes" set. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.

A few pearls were added to the upper part of the card and the card was done. Now to write in it and get it sent off in tomorrows mail.

This design can be used for many other occasions too. I love these colors. It's got a nostalgic feel to it. Now off to ice my hip. There's still a tender spot but it's getting SO much better.

Sophisticated Sled, Gift Card Holder, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. First I have something to confess. I have been pre-posting my cards since the 11th.  I do go online in the evening and post my card to Pinterest so when you get the notice that a new card is available you are able to go directly to that card instead of just to my blog. It's something that is required to do by Pinterest. My husband set it up for me for a few of days but I was able to resume that on the 14th.  I had total hip replacement on Monday the 12th. I had to get up at 3:30 in the morning. REALLY? No one is up at 3:30 in the morning, not even the birds. I did make a point to ask everyone I encountered if they had to wake up at 3:30 in the morning. My husband would laugh every time I asked anyone that came into my room. Not a single one of them was up at 3:30.  LOL  Anyway, my surgery was at 7:30 am and I guess it was done a couple of hours later. I wasn't awake then. The hospital was extremely busy and I didn't get a room until 5 pm. In the meantime I had lunch and PT and lots of stats checks. I felt great and when I got wheeled to my room the nurse wanted to know if I wanted a walker or use the cane I had in my hand. I asked if I could just walk without anything. She was all for it, so I did. I never used my cane and I've been walking on my new hip since. I'm sore where the muscles were spread to get the new hip in but that totally goes away in about a week. Tuesday and Wednesday were the worst for that burning muscle pain but after that it was less each day. I am doing well and am happy to be walking without the pain I had before (and muscle burn) after surgery. So I'm back to my blog and getting back to life before the hip. It just gets better from here! So let me tell you about today's card.

I decided to make another gift card holder. I am going to need several of them this year. The grandkids are growing up and are preferring money to gifts. I'm okay with that but I want the card to be special so they can take the money out of it and toss the card! LOL

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Misty Moonlight card stock. It was cut in half on the short side so once cut it measured 4-1/4" x 11".  I scored it at 2-1/4" and 5-1/2".  I folded the first scored area inward and the 5-1/2" one is the center of the card and I folded it inward too.

On the front flap I used a circle punch (a die will work too) and punched it so it would be easy to get the gift card or money out.  I added glue to the sides of the scored piece and burnished them so the glue would take.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was taped to the inside.

I used a 3" x 4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Winter Meadow" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the front of the card. 

Using the 3rd and 4th "Countryside Corners" die set I cut the large piece using Misty Moonlight card stock and using the 4th die I cut a piece of DSP. I taped the DSP to the card stock. I taped it in place on the front of the card. I tried to center it. I mark the back of the "Countryside Corners" piece so I know not to get tape beyond that point or the card will be taped shut. You don't want to do that! (I did it once - live and learn and remind everyone else not to do it!).

I cut the sled from the "Sophisticated Sled" bundle using Pecan Pie card stock. The runners were cut from Basic Black card stock. I glued the sled to the runners. The greens were cut using a die from the same bundle on Old Olive and Mossy Meadow card stock. I set them aside.

The skates and laces were die cut from a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. The blades were cut from some silver foil card stock I had. I glued the blades to the skates and I set the skates together and added Dimensionals to the back. 

I took a 3" piece of white Baker's Twine and affixed it to the top part of the sled using a glue dot. I trimmed the ends a bit and then set the skated on top of it. The Dimensionals will hold the twine in place. The greenery pieces were set in place using a little bit of Mono glue.

A double bow was tied using white Baker's Twine. It was set in place using a glue dot. 

I colored a few pearls using my dark Cherry Cobbler Blends pen and set them in place on the greenery.  The sled was then set in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make. I just love this sled bundle and I love making gift card holders.

Winter Meadow, Greetings of the Season, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that came from an error on yesterday's card. I call it a "happy accident". Who would have thought that a deer moved just a inch or so to the middle would mess up a sled card.  Please read on to see what I mean and how the card was made.

Yesterday I had made a card using the "Winter Meadow" Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the 12" x 12" package. The sheet has 6 deer and if you cut the sheet at 4" and 4" and then cut those strips at 5-1/4" on each end you have 6 deer cards.  I didn't pay attention that the deer is not in the same spot on each 4" piece. As I was making my card yesterday I had my sled all put together, the skates, the "greenery", the bow and the "berries".  I added Dimensionals to the back and set it on the front of the card (without removing the backing on the Dimensionals. I needed to see where the words were going to go when I realized that a lot of the deer was covered up. I almost stuck the sled in place but the more I looked at it with the deer a bit behind the sled the more I didn't like it. SO I got out another piece of the DSP, the Smoky Slate card stock for the base and the Basic Gray for the layer (it was cut at 4-1/8" x 5-3/8").  I got everything all taped together and then I added the sled and was much happier.

I was left with today's card. I had made a card last year using the deer and it was a sympathy card. I didn't want to repeat that so I thought I would play with the new "Greetings of the Season" bundle. I stamped the words using Basic Gray ink. Basic Black would be too dark. I just left it at that and called it done.

Today's card was a quick one because all the work was done the other day except for the words but even at that it's a quick card if you were to start from scratch. I love this DSP and will be making one more with a sled and I'll be checking on the other two deer cards to see where they are placed and I may just end up making some more sympathy cards to have in my stash. It's always fun when you have DSP that carries the card.  P.S. I like the sled card better!  LOL

Sophisticated Sled, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fun Christmas card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card here. I had almost all of the stuff to make it. The Pinterest post didn't have a link or a name on it of who made it. So if you know who made that card please let me know so I can give them credit. Please read on to hear how I made this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Smoky Slate card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Basic Gray card stock and a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Winter Meadow" 12" x 12" package. Before taping the DSP to the Basic Gray piece, I stamped the words from the "Sophisticated Sled" bundle using Basic Gray ink. The piece was taped to the Basic Gray piece and then that was taped to the front of the card.

The sled was done next. I die cut the runners out of Basic Gray card stock. You could use the piece you're taping to the front of the card, no one will know there's a piece missing in the middle. My piece has a circle missing in the middle. I cut what I need and put the piece back in the package to use on a card such as this. 

The body of the sled was cut from a piece of Smoky Slate card stock. I glued the body to the runners. 

Basic White card stock was used for the skates and laces. I glued the laces in place. While that was drying I die cut the silver pieces, the blades and the "greenery". I needed to cut two pieces of the "greenery". 

The blades were glued to the skates and the skates were glued together.

I took a 4" piece of black Baker's Twine and folded it in half. I set the middle of the twine on a glue dot in the middle of the upper part of the sled. I moved the bottom parts of the twine so they hung where I thought the skated would be going. Dimensionals were added to the back of the skates and they were set in place over the twine.

Next the "greenery" was glued in place on top of the twine. I tied a checkered bow from some retired ribbon. I glued the bow in place on top of the silver "greenery".  

Three pearls were colored using the dark Cherry Cobbler Blends pen and were set in place just under the middle part of the bow.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the sled and the sled was set in place on the front of the card.  And the card was done. 

Such a fun and pretty card, huh? Now you can see why I just had to make one. I'm tempted to order more of that DSP but there's SO many sheets in it that I wouldn't be able to use up. I know that for a fact because I did have two packages. So I try to talk myself to believing I should "work with what you have".  I do have plenty to keep me busy! See there, I just talked myself out of the DSP! LOL

Perennial Lavender, Layering Leaves, Thank You, Gift Card Holder, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a gift card holder thank you card to share with you. These are so quick and easy to do. I plan to make some for Christmas this year too. I'm making this one for a neighbor who kindly took in our cat for the night while I had to prep for surgery the next day. (Total hip). They are thrilled to have him. He is a good kitty and loves to play. I'm SO grateful that he will be staying with people how love him. My surgery was on the 12th and I have pre-posted my cards because I was pretty sure I wouldn't be coherent enough to put one together on the meds I'm given. So as of now it's Saturday August 10th and I'm still at home. One day left before I go in. Oh and I have to be there at 5 am. That means I have to get up at 3:30 am. REALLY?  I'm not a morning person so I hope I get some drugs right away so I will be nice and not crabby at that time of the day. I mean, who gets up that early?  LOL  It will all be good and by the time you are reading this post I will have been home for 10 days and by then I should be back in my workroom with more fun cards to share. Anyway, please read on to see how I made this card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Highland Heather card stock. Once cut it measures 4-1/4" x 11". I scored it at 5-1/2" and 8-3/4". I folded the scored pieces inward. 

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside.

On the front flap of the card I used a circle punch to make a little "U" shape on the edge to grab the gift card easier.

That pouch for the gift card is just glued along the two edges and that's it. Easy peasy.

On the front I cut a 4" x 3" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Perennial Lavender" 12" x 12" package. Mine is a bit short because it was a piece in my package that I thought I should use up. I taped that to the front of the card.

The words were stamped next and are from the "Layering Leaves" set. I stamped them on Basic White card stock using Gorgeous Grape ink. I cut them out using the "Countryside Corners" die set. I used the 5th die for the words and the 4th for the Highland Heather card stock. I taped the two pieces together.  I glued the piece in place. It can also be set in place with Dimensionals. I chose to use glue.

And the card was done. It's such an easy card to make. I have a couple of birthday's coming up and gift cards are the gift, so... the card is going to be made with this layout!

Season of Green & Gold, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a Christmas card to share with you. I found the card on Pinterest and was going to make it but had to change it because I didn't have the wording used on it. You can see the original card here. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Very Vanilla card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Very Vanilla card stock and textured it using the "Distressed Tile" embossing folder. I glued that to the front of the card.

Next I cut the Designer Series Papers (DSP) from the "Season of Green & Gold" 12" x 12" package. I cut the dark green piece at 3-3/4" x 2" and the gold stars at 2-1/2" x 3".  I glued the green piece down first about 1/2" from the top edge and about 1/2" from the fold. The gold stars piece was glued on next and it's about 3/4" from the top and 3/4" from the fold. 

The words are from the "Greetings of the Season" bundle and were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink. I cut them out using the largest stitched rectangle die in the "Stylish Shapes" set. I set the piece in place using Dimensionals. It's about 5/8" from the right edge and about 5/8" from the bottom.

The bells are from the same "Season of Green & Gold" DSP and were fussy cut. I used Dimensionals on the small bell and glue on the larger one. I set the bells in place on the front of the card and that was it, the card was done. So this is my version of the card using what I had. 

This was a super quick and easy card to make, even with the fussy cutting! I can see myself making more of these this Christmas.

Thoughtful Wishes, Thoughtful Journey, Happiest Day, Spotlight on Nature, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that I found on the internet. You can see the original card here. I did change it a little. Please read on to see how I put this card together.

First I cut a piece of Boho Blue card stock to measure 4-1/4" x8-1/4".  I scored it at 2-3/4".  

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Thoughtful Journey" 6" x 6" package was added next. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece for the inside and I taped it in place. On the front I cut a 2-1/2" x 4" piece of the same design DSP and I taped that in place. I also die cut a circle from the same DSP using the second largest die of that design in the "Spotlight on Nature" bundle. Before putting the die back I cut a Boho Blue piece and a Basic White piece. 

I took the next larger size die using that same design and cut a piece of DSP from the same package. This DSP is on the backside of a sheet with trees on it, it's got a frosty look to it. I set all of these pieces aside.

The floral pieces were cut next, I cut two Basic White ones and two DSP ones. I bunched them together and I added a little dot of glue at the stems to hold them all in place after I got them to where I thought they looked the best. I tied a bow around them using a piece of linen thread. I set the piece aside.

I stamped the words from the "Happiest Day" set using Boho Blue ink on the Basic White circle. You can stamp the words first and then cut them out if it's easier for you.  

Now we have all the pieces we need. The first thing I did was I taped the smaller Boho Blue circle to the smaller DSP piece. I lined them up so all of the holes matched.  Then I taped the left side to the front of the card.

Next I taped the large circle in place on the inside. I didn't even try to match the way the circles lined up. I didn't think it would matter. I took the word piece and added tape to the back. Then I lined it up with the front piece and closed the card so it would stay where it needed to be. 

Tape was added to the back of the word piece and was lined up with the front piece and then I slowly closed the card so it stayed lined up. If you don't press down you will be able to move the piece if it's not lining up all the way. I thought this was the most difficult part of the card.

Once that was done I cut a 4" x 2-1/2" piece of Basic White for the inside of the flap.

I put some glue on my silicone mat and thinly spread it around. I pressed the flower bunch on it and set them in place on the front of the card. I added a brass butterfly and the card was done.

I do like how this card looks but I don't think I'd make another one. I thought it took too much time to line up those holes and it was a bit frustrating.

Cheerful Daisies, Unbounded Love, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have another birthday card to share with you using the "Cheerful Daisies" bundle.  I found this card on Pinterest. It was the open circle on the front that caught my eye. I don't recall making a card like this and if I did it was a long time ago. Though I could have made one last week and didn't remember! I've been so busy lately I can't keep things straight. UGH! You can see the original card here. There was no link to the original card and there was no name as to who designed it. I used the materials I had and worked this card the best I could. Please read on to see how I put this card togehter.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Night of Navy card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. 

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White and taped it to the inside.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Countryside Inn" 12" x 12" package was cut for the front. I was gifted several pieces of this DSP and I have been struggling with it but like yesterday, I had found a card that used this paper and it was right up my alley.  This piece of DSP was taped to the front of the card.  

Using the 3rd circle die in the "Stylish Shapes" set I centered the die from side to side on the front of the card, which is about 1" from each side and the top is about 7/8" from the top edge. I cut through the DSP and card front.

I used the next size larger circle for the ring. I cut the circle and then used the die I used for the opening and cut the center for the ring. I glued the ring to the front of the card.

The words are from the "Unbounded Love" bundle and were stamped using Night of Navy ink on a piece of Basic White card stock. I cut it out using the same die as the opening in the front. I closed the card and then taped the word piece in place. 

Next came the flowers. I cut them using the dies in the "Cheerful Daises" bundle. I colored the centers of each flower using my light and dark Daffodil Delight Blends pens. I did make my flowers a little different. I used all three layers for the flowers instead of just two layers. The two layers is very pretty. Mine was an accident. I wasn't paying attention and just cut, colored and glued all three. It looks just as pretty. 

I didn't add any bling because of the little white flowers on the DSP would not allow them to stand out as much as they would if the background was all dark.  

This was a fun, quick and easy card to make.
