4th of July Party Favor Weekend Project

Today's post is a quick one.  This is another version of the "Party Favor" technique.  This one was made by Nancy, one of the gals in Terri's Technique Tuesday group.  She used a full size candy bar to make her version of this technique.  Originally Hershey Nuggets are used.  Nancy designed the holder to fit the candy bar.  I like that idea.  It makes the technique even more versatile!!!

This is such a great 4th of July favor!  I love now Nancy used the stars across the ends.  She did a great job making it so Patriotic looking!!!

A Thanks Camouflaging Die Cuts Technique Card

Today I played with the new "Camouflaging Die Cuts technique at Split Coast Stampers.  It's a fun technique.  Though I did change it up a little.  I used decorative paper instead of using ink and a brayer. This is a pretty fun technique.  Though I have to tell you, I did not like sticking the words together on top of each other that many times!!!  But I did like the end results!

I think it would be fun to do this with a flower die or something other than numbers or letters.  

My paper used here is from the "Pretty Petals" paper stack!  Two days in a row of using paper from that pack!  I'm on a roll!!!  I do love this black and white look!  The words are from the "Hello You" thinlits dies.  Basic Black and Very Vanilla card stock were also used here.  It's easy enough to do, just a little bit fussy having to stick the words on top of each other.

Give this technique a try!

A Feels Good Friendship Card

This was a super simple and quick card to make.  I think it took me longer to get out the supplies to make this card than it did to actually complete it!!! Putting the supplies away is a story for a different day!!! LOL

I used the new "Pretty Petals" decorative paper stack.  I LOVE those stacks.  This one is fabulous and I have a feeling I may actually use it up before it retires!!!  That would be a first!  Sometimes I tend to hoard pages because I think they are so fabulous and other times I forget I have the stack.  So I'm going to try hard to use this one up.  Though I don't think it will be so hard.  Like I said, it's got lots of pretty pages in it!!!  The bottom layer is the backside of the top layer.  I was going to add a third panel but there wasn't room for it so I just stuck with the 2 panels and the words.  And that makes 3 pieces and it's always best to work in odd numbers.  So I complied with the artistic rule of thumb!!! LOL

I used Very Vanilla card stock. I had originally stamped the words on Whisper White card stock and then I began to assemble the card and realized that the flowered background looked more vanilla than white.  SO I restamped the words on Very Vanilla and used the oval die to cut it out on my Big Shot.  I used the next larger size oval and cut it out using Pacific Point card stock. I also cut out the other two strips in Pacific Point.  

The card may or may not need some bling.  I don't like to add a lot of it because it would cost more to mail. Sometimes less is more!!!  Right?

This was a fun card to make.  Using decorative paper helps in making cards go together quicker and adds a lot of color and dimension to a card.

This layout would make a fun Make n Take card or even a fun Stamp A Stack card!!

A Teeny Tiny Wishes and English Garden Birthday Card

Sandi at Stamping with Sandi has a beautiful card posted on her blog.  You can see it here.   She had used the gold doilies on her card.  I didn't have any so I took a white one, folded it in half so it wasn't so transparent and I sponged the edges using Mossy meadow. 

The flower on the doily is fussy cut from a piece of the English Garden decorative paper. I am not a big fan of fussy cutting but today I didn't mind because I was anxious to make this card.  I did wish I had all the stuff to duplicate Sandi's card but then again, it does teach me to learn to work with what I have.  

To make this card you take a half sheet of Delightful Dijon card stock that is cut on the short side.  Fold it in half.  Cut a piece of Whisper White card stock 4" x 5-1/4".  Cut a piece of the decorative paper 3-7/8" x 5-1/8".  Cut off the bottom of the decorative paper at about 1-1/4" and turn over.  My piece was cut from a 6" piece because I always cut my decorative paper 6" x 6".  So the bottom of my piece was longer so I was able to tape the bottom to the top easily.  

I taped the doily in place, added the ribbon (taping the edges of the ribbon onto the back side and then taping that piece to the Whisper White piece.  Then those two pieces were taped to the Delightful Dijon piece.  

The flower was set in place using Dimensionals.

The words are from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set.  The layer behind it was created using the "Decorative Label" punch.  I miss the "Modern Label" punch.  But I was able to make a narrow label that was cute enough for the card.  I set the label piece in place using Dimensionals.  And that was it!!!  Super easy, very little stamping, and a pretty card too!

A Kinda Eclectic Norther LightsTechnique Card

Here is another fun "Northern Lights" technique. This is such an easy technique with a wonderful effect. The only way you can mess this technique up is to add too much black at the end. And once you start adding the black you will know when to quit!  Give it a try.  

The stamp used here for the starburst is from the "Kinda Eclectic" set.  I'm not sure what set the words are from.  I'll have to look that one up later.

K-Cup Holder using Flower Shop and English Garden Weekend Project

Good day to you!  Today I have a fun project for you.  It's a K-Cup holder gift box/tote.  I used the new Watermelon Wonder card stock and ink to make this.  I wish I would have put a bit more thought into this and found a color closer to the tops of the K-Cups.  I thought about adding a flower to the top and a glue dot but you aren't suppose to remove the covers and I thought the glue dot may pull the cover off.  Or leave some residue behind, so I left them plain.

I found the instructions at the Scor-Pal web site.  You can see it by clicking here.   I did not print out the template.  I just measured by using the measurements along the sides of the template.  I did run into a couple of minor problems with mine.  First I forgot to punch the oval before I assembled the box.  DUH!!!  So what I ended up doing was I assembled the decorative paper on top of a piece of Mossy Meadow card stock, found center and punched the oval.  I then glued the piece in place and took my craft knife and cut out the oval by hand.  I used an emery board and sanded the edges to smooth them out a bit.  Problem solved.

Now for the other issue.  I wanted to wrap the Mossy Meadow card stock around the holder.  I didn't have any 12" x 12" card stock so I did have to add a panel to the back.  It barely shows.  The decorative paper hid most of it.  My decorative paper is from the "English Garden" pack.  I cut the strip just a 1/4" thinner than the card stock.  I wrapped it around the box.  It didn't fit either! UGH!  So what I ended up doing was turning the decorative paper so the seams ended up in the front.  I covered that 3/8" opening with a Watermelon Wonder punched flower.  Then I stamped a flower using the "Flower Shop" set and I set it in place on top of the other flower with a Dimensional.  I punched out a Mossy Meadow flower and cut a few petals off to use as leaves.  I added a big pearl to the center of the flower and I was happy with that part of the box.

The top still needed something so I added a ribbon.  You can always add a tag to make it as a gift for a birthday, get well, or thinking of you.  

These are VERY fun to make and if you make it like the instructions show, you shouldn't encounter any of the issues I did.  :o)  I always have to step outside the box, don't I?  LOL  Have fun with these!  I think they would make great Hostess Gifts, Customer Appreciation Gifts, a Stamp Camp project, or a Craft Fair item!

Northern Lights Technique using Lovely as a Tree

A Serene Silhouettes and Teeny Tiny Wishes Get Well Card

I bought a package of the new English Garden decorative paper. I am loving this Mossy Meadow color.  I have not used it much and now with it incorporated in the designs on the English Garden paper pack I have big plans for it.  And I have this feeling that I will be using up this whole package of paper in no time too!!!  

I cut a strip of the decorative paper and layered it on top of a piece of Mossy Meadow.  I taped it in place on a folded half sheet of Whisper White card stock.  

I used the "Serene Silhouettes" set for the flowers in the middle.  I used the oval dies and cut the image out first and then cut a piece of Mossy Meadow card stock using the next bigger oval.  I taped them together and then set it on top of the layered strip using Dimensionals.  

Then I stamped the words using the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set.  And that was it.  Super simple!  Super quick! And a bit lovely too!!!  That decorative paper helped make it so pretty (lovely!!!)!

A Papillion Potpourri Birthday Card

I found this fun layout by Chris at "From My Ink Pad to Yours" blog.  I dressed it up with LOTS of color!  I do love monochromatic cards but I didn't have the "stuff" to copy the card so I went in my own direction with the colors.  

I used the new Watermelon Wonder card stock and ink.  I also used the new washi tape.  That pack of tape is SO colorful and fun!!!  I have a feeling I'll be using lots off those 5 rolls!!!  

The words are from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set. And of course I had to press harder on the right side and got the "y" pretty dark! Oh well, what's done is done!

I used the larger butterfly than Chris did.  Only because I liked it better!

This is a super easy and fun card to make.  You can whip up a whole bunch of these in no time at all!

A English Garden Butterfly Framelit Card Holder Weekend Project

Today I have a fun project to share with you.  I was helping Terri with her technique night and as we were putting the projects on display away, she gave me one of her very fun greeting card holders.  

This is made using one of the empty DVD size containers that Stampin' Up! sells.  The decorative paper used here is from the "English Garden" pack.  The paper was cut and slid between the protective cover and the case.

A paper doily was taped in place.  

A trimmed strip of the new ribbon was set behind it. 

The butterfly was cut from the Hello Honey card stock.

A pear was added to the butterfly.

For the cards inside, a piece of the decorative paper was added to the Hello Honey card stock.  Then the doily was added.  The ribbon was added next and then the butterfly.  Just like on the front of the case.  

This is such a pretty card pack.  I LOVE the decorative paper!  It's got such a fun and sassy look to it!

These would make a great craft fair item.  I happen to have a new pack of these cases.  I don't know why I was hanging on to them. Maybe because I was just waiting for this pack of paper to come along!!!

Teeny Tiny Wishes Wedding Graduation Shower Party Favor

Tomorrow night I will  be helping Terri at her downline Technique Night.  The instructions for this project can be found here.  

I will be participating in the card swap tomorrow night.  I don't often find time to play in the swaps but this time I did have time to make the project.  Last month this technique and the Northern Lights one was taught to the group and this month we swap the one of those techniques.  So here's my card for tomorrow.  It actually opens up, the Bermuda Blue card stock is a folded half sheet.   

I'm cutting this post short because I have only finished this one and I need to finish up the other 9 before I go to bed soon!  So I'm off to assemble!

A Guy Greetings Father's Day Card

Here is another card I made at Terri's very fun Stamp a Stack.  Terri is so talented and her cards are always so fun to make.  She always pays attention to the calendar and what events or dates are coming up and includes a card idea in her Stamp a Stack cards.  This time we make a Father's Day card.  It could be easily changed into a masculine birthday, get well or even a sympathy card.

For this card we used the Gorgeous Grunge and Guy Greetings sets.  I want to get the Guy Greetings set.  I LOVE the looks of that old car, though it does remind me of one of the retired stamp sets from a few years back.  Or I could be imagining it!!!

We used Early Espresso and Crumb Cake card stock.  Early Espresso ink was also used here.

The 2-1/2" circle punch, Ornate Tag  Topper Punch, sponges and linen thread were also used.  

I sponged the edges on all of my pieces, including the Early Espresso front panel.  

This was a super fun card to make too!

You've Got This General Card

Last night I attended Terri's ever so fun Stamp a Stack.  This was one of the cards we made.  It's from the "You've Got This" set.  I believe that set is on my wishlist.  It's way down on the list though. I wasn't sure I really wanted it.  Has that ever happened to you? You see a set you're not sure of and then you see what has been done with it and then you want it!!  That happens to me a lot.  Sometimes I think I'm losing my creativity.  

This card was super easy to do.  Though there was fussy cutting on the flower.  I'm so spoiled by dies and punches now that cutting with scissors is something I try to avoid at all costs.  

I love how clever Terri was with the stem.  It's the leaf from the Bird Builder punch.  I never would have thought of that!!! Leave it to Terri to come up with those creative ideas!!

The paper is the new Watermelon Wonder.  The stem is Pear Pizzazz, the base of the card is Basic Black and the focal layer is Whisper White.

The background image was stamped using Memento ink.  And that image comes with the flower image!!!  I do so love that background!!

I had a great time and I have a few more cards to share with you in the next week or so!

A Wild About Flowers Petite Petals Card Birthday Card

Today I'm playing with the new "Wild About Flowers" set.  I stamped the foliage using Pear Pizzazz.  I was going to use the flower tops that went with the set but I decided to use the "Petite Petals", mostly because I wanted them raised on top of the card.  I could have cut out those flower tops but I didn't want to.  This set did not come with a punch, so I thought the little flowers from "Petite Petals" would work nicely on this stem, and they did!  I stamped those flowers using Daffodil Delight.  I sponged the edges using Melon Mambo.  I set the flowers in place using Dimensionals.  In the center of each flower I added a candy dot.  I also played with the papers from the new Subtles Designer Series Paper.  There's some fun designs in there.  I think I could actually use up a pack of papers with these designs!!!  I LOVE them!!!

The words are from the "Wetlands" set.  I used the oval punch and the scalloped oval punch layered.  I set that piece in place using Dimensionals.  The flowers and decorative paper layer were just taped in place.  I didn't want too much height on the card.

The background was textured using the Decorative Dots embossing folder.

The base of the card and the layers are Melon Mambo card stock.

This was a pretty fast card to make and super easy!!
