Stamp Share Shoe Box Swap

Today I spent most of my day at the Stamp Share. This is one event I REALLY hate to miss. Terri is the leader of and puts on the whole event. It's SO wonderful I can't even begin to describe it. There's demonstrations, business tips and ideas. Other demonstrators bring sample boards just filled with cards to photo and get ideas from. There's 3-D items to see and touch and take photos of. Oh and there are prizes too. Terri is such a generous person. And there's always new demonstrators there, new friends to make. It's such a friendly group of ladies. I enjoy every minute I am there! Most of these people I only get to see at this meeting so it's a fun time to see them again too!! I just can't say enough about this day. My head is full of new ideas I can't wait to get on paper and share with you.

I also participated in the Shoe Box Swap. Now I have realized that in the past I have taken for granted that you know what I mean when I say things. I apologize for that and I will try to be more descriptive when I post. And I'll begin with the Shoe Box Swap. For this event you bring a finished card to set out and all the materials to make that card. Then you go from station to station and make the cards. There was 27 cards to make today. What a blast that was!! The cards were all fabulous and made by a group of such talented ladies. I can't wait for my stampers to see the samples I came home with. And after I finish this post I'm going to go look at them all again!!!

The card posted here is the one I designed for the Shoe Box Swap. There was a theme for the swap, it had to be a card made from anything in the new mini catalog that was released today, March 1st! The set used here is the new "Tart & Tangy" set plus the new "Summer Picnic" decorative paper. There was also another theme here. The cards had to be something that demonstrators could use for Stamp-A-Stacks so it needed to be one that could be completed in around 5 minutes.

For the strawberry I used the "Direct to Rubber" technique. That is where you color right on the rubber stamp with a marker or watercolor crayon. The scallop punch was used plus the round one for the center of the scallop. A small piece of the new decorative paper was added to the top and ribbon tied around the card where the decorative paper met the white card stock. It's a very simple card with a clean crisp look to it. It as a lot of fun to make too!
All products on this card are Stampin' Up! materials. Click here to find more cards and projects that are made entirely of Stampin' Up! materials.

Thank you SO much for stopping by,
Wanda

The set may be called *Tart & Tangy* but this is a *sweet* little card! (ha-ha!) I love the color combo you chose, and the black scallop is the perfect frame for the berry. Susan :-)

It sounds like you had a great time at the Stamp Share and I can't wait to see all the wonderful ideas you came home with! As for the card...I love it. I never would have thought to leave the bottom half just white. But it really works!
