Traditions of Christmas, Traditional Labels, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I found a card on Pinterest that I just loved the layout. I did change the card a bit and I didn't have any measurements so I just made it they way I wanted it. You can see the original card by clicking here.  It will open in a new window so you don't lose your place! Please read on to see how I made this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Jolly Holly" embossing folder. I glued it to the card base.

Next I cut the layers. The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Traditions of Christmas" 12" x 12" package and it was cut at 2-1/8" x 4-1/4". I taped it to a 2-1/4" x 4-3/8" piece of gold foil card stock.  Then that was taped to a 2-3/4" x 4-7/8" piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock.  I glued these layers to the front of the card about 5/16" from the top, bottom and fold.

The words are from the "Traditional Labels" bundle and were stamped using Cherry Cobbler ink on a piece of Basic White card stock. I cut it out using a die from the same bundle. Dimensionals were added to the back.

Before putting the word piece down I cut a piece of gold ribbon that I had in my stash and taped that down first.  The word piece was set in place over the ribbon.

I added three gold rhinestones to the front and the card was done.

I also make a card using these measurements out of copier paper so I have it for future reference. I have a pretty large stack of copier paper card layouts. I like seeing them as they were made then to see them printed on a piece of paper and try to visualize how it looks.  I also add the date(s) I used the layout so I can go back and look at it for an even better idea of how to make the card. It saves me a lot of time designing layouts!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Christmas card,
Wanda
