Peaceful Garden, Traditional Labels, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have another Christmas card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock using the "Jolly Holly" embossing folder. I glued it to the front of the card.

Next I cut a 2-1/8" x 4-1/8" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Peaceful Garden" 12" x 12" package. I glued it to a piece of silver glittered paper measuring 2-1/4" x 4-1/4".  Then that was glued to a piece of Secret Sea card stock that measured 2-3/4" x 4-7/8".  Confession time here. My glitter paper isn't really paper. I got a roll of the glitter "paper" at the Dollar Tree but it turned out to be a table runner. It would have been better if it were paper because tape would have stuck to the back of the paper. I had to glue this runner to a piece of Basic White card stock. Then I could tape it down. But for today's card I preferred to use glue there.

Once the layers were taped together I set the piece in place on the front of the card with equal spacing on all sides and using Dimensionals. It's about 3/8" from the top, bottom and fold.

The words are from the "Peaceful Garden" bundle. I stamped them using Night of Navy ink and cut them out with a die from the "Traditional Labels" bundle. I set the piece in place using Dimensionals on the right and tape on the left.

I die cut a dove from the same bundle using Basic White card stock. Also in that bundle was the spring which I cut using a scrap piece of Secret Sea card stock. I taped the dove in place on the upper left of the panel and I added the tiniest dots of glue to each leaf in the sprig and I set in place so it looked like the dove was carrying it.  And that was it, the card was done.

This was such a quick and easy card to make. I just love that DSP, it's SO pretty.  I could have done something different with the embossed layer but that was all I could find. I wanted to use the "So Swirly" folder but it's buried somewhere on the counter. Tomorrow is clean up day. Time to put things away and organize a bit but not too much or I won't be able to find what I need! LOL

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Christmas card,
Wanda
