Waterside Resort, Banner Sayings, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I have one more masculine card using the "Waterside Resort" Designer Series Paper (DSP) before I move onto something else. I found this card on Pinterest. I thought it was a fun masculine card. You can see the original card by clicking here.  Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of DSP from the "Waterside Resort" package. I taped it to the front of the card base.

I cut a 1-3/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock. It's taped to a 2" x 4-1/2" piece of Basic White card stock. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place 1-1/8" from the top edge and 1/2" from both sides.

Next I cut the circle. I used the second largest die in the "Stylish Shapes" set on Very Vanilla card stock.

I fussy cut the oars, life jacket and fish from another sheet of DSP. I taped the oars and life jacket in place. 

The words are from the "Banner Sayings" set using Basic Black ink. I had punched the word piece from a piece of DSP that has the life jackets on the other side. I just lined up the stripes and punched it out using the "Three Banner" punch.  I added Dimensionals to the left side and tape to the right side. I set the words piece in place and then the fish was added using Dimensionals.

I took my Wink of Stella pen and went over the fish to give it a bit of a shimmer.

This was a fun card to make and I had no complaints fussy cutting because it's pretty easy angles on the images.

Waterside Resort, Scalloped Blooms, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a masculine birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made. 

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Gray card stock. It open son the bottom and the fold is on the top. 

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Waterside Resort" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the front of the card.

I used the boats image from another sheet of DSP in the same package. It's trimmed to 3" x 2-1/4" and it was taped to a 3-1/4" x 2-1/2" piece of Basic Gray card stock for the layer. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the upper left side of the card about 1/2" from the left edge and 1/2" from the top edge. 

A 2-1/4" x 1-3/4" piece of Basic White card stock was cut for the word piece. The words are from the "Scalloped Blooms" bundle and was stamped using Basic Gray ink. I taped it to a 2-1/2" x 2" piece of Basic Gray card stock for the back layer.  I added some tape to the upper left corner and Dimensionals to the rest of it and it was set in place about 1/2" from the bottom edge and 1/2" from the right edge. 

I fussy cut a fish and a bobber from some of the other sheets of DSP in the same package.  Dimensionals were added to the backs of both and they were set in place on the front of the card.

I ran across some really old embellishments that I believe were called "rain drops". I glued them in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a pretty quick card to make. I thought it was a fun card to make and I was happy to have used that little boats image from one of the sheets on DSP.  Fussy cutting the two pieces wasn't tough to do mostly because there wasn't a lot of jagged edges to move around.

Waterside Resort, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a masculine card to share with you using a simple layout. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. it opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. 

The Mossy Meadow is the largest layer and was cut at 4" x 5-1/4" and taped to the front of the card.

I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DPS) from the "Waterside Resort" 12" x 12" package. It measures 3-7/8" x 5-1/8". I taped this to the front of the card on top of the Mossy Meadow card stock.

The image is from another sheet in the same package of DSP. I used the second largest stitched square in the "Stylish Shapes" die set to cut it out. The layer behind it was cut using the largest square in the same die shape set on a piece of Old Olive card stock.  I taped the two squares together and then taped them to the front of the card. I debated whether or not to add Dimensionals behind it and opted not to. 

The words are from the "Wild Bunch" set and were stamped using Basic Black ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock.  I punched it out using the "Three Banner" punch. I also punched out a Mossy Meadow one and I sliced it in half on the long side. I taped each half to the top and bottom of the word piece. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. Simple layer cutting and die cutting.  I really like this cabin image. This card could easily be a masculine sympathy card or a masculine get well card.

Delicate Dreams, Wild Bunch, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. I found this on Pinterest. It's supposed to be a fun fold card but I don't do too many of them because some of the recipients don't know what to do with them. Like self-standing ones or flipping ones. So if I like the looks of the layout then I'll run with that and omit the fancy/fun part. You can see the original card by clicking here.  While there I saw a few more cards that caught my eye. They may be showing up in a few days! Maybe!  Please read on to see how I put today's card togehter.

For the base of my card I used a half-sheet of Basic White card stock. On top of that is a 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of Secret Sea card stock. Before taping it to the front, I cut the large layer from it's center. I used the 4th largest die in the "Branching Out" bundle. 

A 3-7/8" x 5-1/4" piece of Crumb Cake card stock was cut for the second largest layer. On top of that layer I taped the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Delicate Dreams" 12" x 12" package. I had cut the piece at 3-3/4" x 5-1/8"". I trimmed each strip to 1-7/8" x 5-1/8". I flipped one strip over and taped them to the front of the card. 

The focal piece was next. Using the 5th largest die in the "Branching Out" dies, I cut a one of Basic White card stock. I stamped the flowery looking greenery image from the "Delicate Whispers" bundle using Crumb Cake ink.

I cut several "greenery" pieces using the dies in the "Delicate Whispers" bundle. I cut one of Basic White and using the same die, I cut one of Crumb Cake card stock. There are two smaller thin ones on the upper left area and those were cut using Basic Beige card stock. Those pieces were glued in place. I just added a little bit of glue on some of the middle wider areas and set them in place on the focal piece. 

The flowers were cut using another piece of the DSP. I cut five large and five small and glued them together. Then they were glued in place on the front of the card. I added little pearls to the center of each flower. The piece was then taped to the Secret Sea layer. Dimensionals were added to the back of that and it was set in place on the center of the card. I just eyed it. I always figure that if it looks centered to me then it's centered enough!

The words are from the "Wild Bunch" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Crumb Cake card stock using Pecan Pie ink. I punched them out using the "Three Banner" punch. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card. I doubled stacked the Dimensional on the right end so it didn't droop.  It was a bit too long to hang over the focal piece without drooping. And that was it, the card was done.

This was a super quick and easy card to make. I really did enjoy making it. I could see myself making more in the future.

Knitted Hooded Cowl, Craft Fair

 Here's the knitted Hooded Cowl I have been working on. It's fun to make and I just work on it a little bit at night in front of the tv. I could probably whip them out pretty fast if I wanted but I just work on them at my leisure.  I make them on a flatbed knitting machine. There's several steps to do after it comes off the machine that seem to take more time to do than actually knitting them. But I think it's worth it. 

I just finished a light yellow brushed yarn one last night. As soon as my web store is up and running they will be in there. But for now they are in a box waiting not only for the web store but for the craft fairs this fall (which is coming up fast!).

Waterside Resort, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I still had my "Waterside Resort" Designer Series Paper (DSP) sitting on my worktable (mostly because I don't put things back right away!).  I found this card on Pinterest and thought I'd give it a try since I really didn't need to get many supplies out. You can see the original card by clicking here. From the image that was cut from a sheet of the DSP, there were two boats in the water and you can make two cards fro that one cutting.  I did make two cards from that cutting but I'm only posting one of them. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Old Olive card stock for the largest layer.

The DSP on the left was cut at 5" x 2-1/4". I taped it in place.

I die cut the image using the second largest rectangle die in the "Nested Essentials" set and the Old Olive layer was cut using the largest rectangle die in that set. Before taping the two rectangles together, I added a 1-1/8" strip of DSP around the Old Olive rectangle. Then the boat image was taped down. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the center of the card.

On my worktable I had found the "Happy Birthday" that looks like it was printed on my computer and punched out using a retired oblong punch.  I thought I'd use it before it got ruined. I added Dimensionals to the back and set it in place on the front of the card about 1/2" from the bottom and 1/4" from the right edge. And that was it, the card was done.

This was a super quick and easy card to make and I was glad I was able to use up some things sitting on my worktable.  It was fun to get two cards done in a short time. I need to get my masculine card stash built up.

Waterside Retreat, Phrases & Frames, Thinking of You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a quick and easy thinking of you card to share with you.  Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold was on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Balmy Blue card stock for the large layer. 

Using one of the images on a sheet in the "Waterside Resort" 12" x 12" package, I trimmed it to 3-3/4" x 5" and I taped it to the Balmy Blue layer.  Then that was taped to the front of the card.

Now came some fussy cutting. I love the full sheet of bikes and it's too bad I didn't have a die for them but I don't really mind fussy cutting. SO I picked out a bike I liked on the sheet and cut it out. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the lower left side of the card. Right in the sand!

Next I did a little searching my current sets for the words. I found these in the "Phrases & Frames" bundle and they were stamped using Basic Black ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I didn't like how bright it was so I toned it down a bit by taking the belly of the light Balmy Blue Blends pen and added a bit of color to the edge. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the upper right area of the card. And that was it, the card was done.

My plan for today's post was to make a quick and easy card because I'm in the middle of making a hooded cowl or is it called a cowl neck snood? Either way, I'm working on it and if I get it done tomorrow, I will post a pic of it on here.  I need to get a dozen of them done for the fall craft fairs.

Velvet Meadow, Wild Bunch, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. I had used this layout (sort of) on a card I posted 3 days ago. You can see that card by clicking here.  I made a different version of the layout and I like it better. It's got one less layer and the triangles lay across the DSP. I like this version better because it lets the triangles stand out more. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DPS) from the "Velvet Meadow" 12" x 12" package.  I didn't tape it to the card front yet, I worded on top of it first.

The left two triangles were made first. I cut a piece of DSP from the same package at 4" x 2-5/8" and I cut a piece of Berry Burst using the same measurements.  I cut the DSP diagonally from the upper left to the bottom right. I actually had to cut two because the orientation of the DSP didn't match up nicely so I cut the next piece from the upper right corner to the bottom left. I figured that it would end up producing two cards to I cut another Berry Burst layer and I cut them they same way. Left corner first on one and right corner first on the second.  Now the pieces line up.  For the DSP, I cut 5/8" off the left sides. This allowed the DSP to lay in the Berry Burst piece evenly/equally.  I taped the DSP to the Berry Burst piece and then I taped those to the left side of the large DSP layer. 

For the right triangle, I cut the two pieces at 3-1/2" x 3-1/2". I marked the center on the the 3-1/4" piece in the center at 1-5/8".  I cut from the corners to the center mark. I did the same for both pieces. On the right edge of the DSP I cut 5/8" off and taped it to the Berry Burst piece. Then that was taped to the front of the card. I just eyed it to get it centered as much as I could without measuring. If it looks good to your eye, then it's good!

I took out the "Extraordinary Flora" Washi tape and I cut off one panel and laid it on a piece of Basic White card stock. Then I cut the pieces out using the matching die. I added Dimensionals to the largest flower and the rest of the pieces were tucked and clued in place.  

The words are from the "Wild Bunch" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using Basic Black ink. I used the "Three Banner" punch to punch them out. Dimensionals were added to the back and they were set in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and I was so happy to see that the "Extraordinary Flora" Washi tape went well with this DSP.

Sunflower, Wild Bunch, Note Friendship Card, Double Vision Technique, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a note card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

This card was made using the "Double Vision" technique. I had seen this technique used on a lot of cards and thought it looked so cool. So I finally broke down and thought I'd give it a try. I did not find it fun at all, even though it turned out!  I found it tedious to try to get the strips in place. 

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. 

A 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Cajun Craze card stock was cut for the large layer.

I textured a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock using the "Sunflower" 3D embossing folder. I cut the piece into 1/2" strips. Keeping them in order was not a big deal, I just laid one on top of the other as I cut them. 

The pieces are set in place on the Cajun Craze by gluing one down and then using Dimensionals on the next. This is repeated until you run out of strips.  I did not like trying to line these up. I thought it took more time than needed. Often I think that since I did one and know how to do it, a second one will be easier. Nope, I don't have that thought with this. It's a simple technique. Cutting, taping and gluing. You have to get those strips on perfectly or you will have gaps and it will look crooked.  I spent more time repositioning the ones with the Dimensionals. The glued on ones were quicker because you could slide them until the glue set up.  I'm glad it turned out but I won't be making another one unless I can find an easier way to line the strips up.

Okay, rant is done. LOL. For the words I used the "just a little note" from the "Wild Bunch" set. They were stamped using Basic Black ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the smallest rectangle stitched die from the "Nested Essentials" die set.  I cut the words so they were on the right side. The plan is to add some bling in the open space. 

Using the next larger size of  the rectangle dies, I cut a Cajun Craze piece. I taped the word piece to it. Then I glued the layered piece to the bottom area of the card about 5/8" up from the bottom and 3/8" from the right edge.  When I glued the layered piece in place, I set it where I wanted it to go and then I lifted it up a little and made a pencil line on the raised pieces. I did this for the top and bottom of the word layer. Then I added glue between those pencil lines and set the piece in place on top of the strips.

I wanted to add something to the word piece but not sure. I had some little sunflowers on my worktable that I'm pretty sure were from Hobby Lobby. I added some Cajun Craze to the center using my light Cajun Craze Blends pen.  The center has a hard piece to it and I'm thinking about taking a flush cutter (pliers) and cutting it off and added a small Early Espresso that will probably come from a small hole paper punch.  But for now I'm leaving it the way it is.

I am happy with the looks of the card. I like the look of the technique but unless I can find another way to add the raised strips quicker while keeping them perfectly straight. All it takes is one of them being off and it's a mess!

Waterside Retreat, Wild Bunch, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today is a very busy day here and I thought I'd see if I could make a quick masculine card. Please read on to see how I made this card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 2" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DPS) from the "Waterslide Resort" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to a 2-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Old Olive card stock. Then I taped that to the front of the card about 1-5/8" from the bottom edge.

The "happy birthday" was stamped next. It's from the "Wild Bunch" set and was stamped using Old Olive ink. I stamped them just above the layered piece. Anywhere in that area would look good.

The circle was actually in my package of DSP. It had been cut using the largest stitched circle die in the "Stylish Shapes" set. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card about 1/4" from the top and left side.

I fussy cut the oars, vest and bobber. I set the oars and bobber in place using Dimensionals.

For a little bling, I added a few green "Genial Gems" (retired).  I have a few left and that package will be used up! Can't wait for that!  It's not often that I use up my packages of bling but I'm working on it. These seemed to blend in well with the colors on the card and that's why I used them.

This was a fun, quick, and easy card to make. I think the circle could have used a layer but there isn't one in the set, I used the largest.  But it's still nice looking.

Delicate Dreams, Wild Bunch, Friendship Note Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a note card to share with you. I had seen this layout on several cards on Pinterest but no instructions. I saw that people asked if there were measurements but the one who posted it didn't reply. So off I went to grab some copier paper and make a mock card (for my stack of card sample/layouts) and I worked the pieces. Are you ready for this?  Please read on to see how it was made. 

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Delicate Dreams" 12" x 12" package. I taped it in place.

Next I cut the left triangles. For the Hydrangea Hue layers I cut a 5" x 3-3/4" piece and cut it along the diagonal. One piece would need to be flipped over or you can cut another piece and then cut that one on the diagonal on the opposite side.  

The Basic White pieces were cut the same way. The piece measures the same 5" x 3-3/4" and after cutting along the diagonal, I cut off 3/8" on the left side. I had tried to just cut the piece 1/4" smaller and then cut on the diagonal but it didn't work. So I just cut the same size piece and after cutting on the diagonal I then cut the left side and the piece fit perfectly.  I did cut two and flipped the other one, cut the left end and then I laid both pieces in the "Lovely Stripes" embossing folder to texture them. I glued them to the Hydrangea Hue pieces and then that was taped to the front of the card about 1/4" from the top, left side and bottom.

For the center piece I cut a 3-5/8" x 2-3/4" piece of Hydrangea Hue card stock. Using a pencil, I lightly marked the center which was 1-3/8" and I cut from the corners to the center mark. 

I also cut the same size piece in Basic White card stock.  Once I was done cutting from the corners to the center I cut off 5/8" from the right edge.  

The words were stamped next. They are from the "Wild Bunch" set and were stamped using Basic Black ink.  I then taped the piece to the Hydrangea Hue layer and that was then taped to the right side of the card. I centered it by eyeing it. 

I fussy cut the flowers from another sheet of DSP in the same "Delicate Dreams" package.  I set the tan one in place using Dimensionals. Then the other two blue ones were glued in place. I only added glue to where the center area of the flowers.  I had fussy cut three little flowers but lost one so I cut another and then I found the other. It just showed up. How odd is that? I added a small Dimensional to the two blue little flowers and to one of the little tan flowers. I set one of the blue ones just under the large tan flower. I glued one little tan flower on the upper left side and the other little tan flower was set in place on the lower left side using a Dimensional. And the last little blue flower was set in place on the word panel using a Dimensional.  And the card was done.

This was actually a fun card to make once I figured out how to make the pieces.  I do like how it turned out though I think my next one will have busier DSP on the largest layer.

Heirloom Boutique, Bloom Boutique, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card by clicking here. I didn't make many changes to it, I thought it was pretty just as it was. There was no link provided to get any instructions. Please read on to see how I put the card together.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Bloom Boutique" 12" x 12" package and taped it to the card base.

For the left panel, I cut a 2" x 3-1/2" piece of DSP from the same package. It's layered with a 2-1/8" x 3-5/8" piece of Barely Blush card stock. And under that is a 2-1/4" x 3-3/4" piece of Hydrangea Hue card stock. I taped these three pieces together and then taped it to the front of the card on the left side. It's about 1/2" from the top edge and 1/2" from the fold.

Using the 3rd smallest die in the "Party Banner Dies" set I cut a piece from Basic White card stock. Then I cut it on the "Eyelet Blooms" die. I used the 4th smallest banner die and cut a Hydrangea Hue piece. I glued the eyelet piece to the Hydrangea Hue piece. I added little dots of glue on the solid areas. 

The flower parts were cut next. They are form the "Heirloom Boutique" bundle. I cut the flower using "Barely Blush" card stock. The flower center is Crisp Cantaloupe and the greenery is "Peaceful Pine. The center was glued to the flower and Dimensionals were added to the back. I set the greenery behind it and they stuck to the Dimensionals. I added some tape where the greenery had covered the Dimensionals and set the piece in place on the banner layers. Dimensionals were added to the back of the banner layers piece and it was set in place about 1/2" from the right side and 1/2" from the bottom, from the tip of the banner piece.

The "happy birthday" was from my computer and it had been sitting on my worktable so I thought I'd use it before it got ruined.  I had cut it out with a die from the "Stylish Shapes" set. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card about 1" from the top and 1/4" from the right side.  

I had some retired foiled gems that I added to the card. I thought they matched close enough. It's nice to use what I have and make it work.

This was a fun card to make. I think this is a fun bundle to play with. I may have to try a different card tomorrow!  Maybe!

Flora & Fern, Moonlit Flora, Lovely Arrangements, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a friendship card. I found it on Pinterest. You can see the original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Mossy Meadow card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Golden Glow card stock for the largest layer.  On top of that is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Designer Series Paper from the "Moonlit Flora" 12" x 12" package. Before taping it to the Golden Glow card stock layer, I die cut the little "greenery" clusters from the "Fern & Flora" bundle. I cut two of them from the center of that piece. Once the DSP was taped to the Golden Glow piece, I taped that to the front of the card base.

I cut another piece of DSP from the same package that measures 5-1/4" x 1-1/2". I cut a 1-3/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Mossy Meadow for the layer. I taped the two pieces together. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the left side of the card about 1/2" from the fold.

I cut a larger fern piece using Mossy Meadow and a curled fern piece using Old Olive. These dies are in the "Fern & Flora" bundle.  

The "hello" is from the "Lovely Arrangements" bundle and was stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using Basic Black ink. I had masked off the "friend" from the stamp. The "hello" was punched out using the "Three Banner" punch.  I used Old Olive ink and a dauber and added it to the edges of the piece.  I set it aside.

I taped the end of the large fern and set it in place on the front of the card. Then I added the Golden Glow piece on top of the fern with a little tape. The curled fern was added with a little bit of tape on the end.

The word piece came next. I added a Dimensional on the right side and glue on the other. I set it in place on top of the Golden Glow "greenery" piece. A little glue was added to the end of the other Golden Glow "greenery" piece and it was slipped under the word piece. I didn't have any matching ribbon so that is why I added another Golden Glow piece.  It seemed to have done the trick.

I had two retired "Patterned Dots" to the bottom left of the card and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make. It's too bad that I didn't get more of the moth on the right but what's there is enough to see it.

Cutest Crew, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you that is made with LOTS of squares. I found it on Pinterest and thought I'd give it a try. I had always wanted to try this technique/layout. You can see the original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Misty Moonlight card stock for the large layer. On top of that a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White will be taped down. I haven't taped anything down yet. I needed to cut a square from the center of the Misty Moonlight piece. I used the 3rd largest square in the "Stylish Shapes" set. 

Next I cut a number of squares from the "Paper Medley" 12" x 12" package of Designer Series Paper (DSP).  I used the 4th square die in the "Stylish Shapes" set. I taped them to the Basic White layer. I used round toothpicks as spacers so I could get the spaces as even and equal as possible. I overlapped squares and trimmed them when I was done. I did not like doing this part and this is going to be a one of a kind layout. I found it tedious and I'd rather fussy cut anything than do this!  LOL. Once the squares were all in place an all the little corners were filled in, I taped the piece to the Misty Moonlight piece. 

I had some ribbon that was close enough in color so I taped it to the back. Then I taped the piece to the front of the card base.

I need a Basic White square so I cut one using the 4th largest die in the "Stylish Shapes" set. 

The penguin is from the "Wild Bunch" set and was stamped using Basic Black ink. It needed to be fussy cut but I had used my Scan N Cut to cut a bunch of these out a few days ago.  I colored the penguin in using Blends Pens. I used light Basic Black, light Pumpkin Pie and light Pool Party for around the eye area and the left side of the belly. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on top of the Basic White square. Then that was taped to the Misty Moonlight square. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card. 

The words are from the same "Wild Bunch" set and was stamped using Basic Black ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I trimmed it to measure 2 x 3/8" and was set in place on the front of the card using tape on the left side and a couple of Dimensionals on the rest of the piece.  And that was it. I was done!

I do like how it looks but I will not be making another one. I know, never say never, but I'm pretty sure it would be a very long time before I attempt this again! Doing a layout like this makes you appreciate those who put these cards together.

Wild Bunch, Birthday Card, Stampin Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Pool Party card stock and textured it using the "Lazy Daisy" embossing folder. I glued it to the front of the card.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Waterside Retreat" 12" x 12" package. I cut it at 1-1/2" x 5" and I taped it to a 1-3/4" x 5-1/4" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock. I glued this to the left side of the embossed piece.

I cut a Basic White square using the third die in the "Stylish Shapes" set. I stamped the background using the die in the "Wild Bunch" set. I cut a 2-1/4" x 2-1/4" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock for the layer. I added Dimensionals to the back and set it on the front of the card about 3/4" from the fold and 1-1/8" from the top edge. 

The cow is from the "Wild Bunch" set. It was stamped using Basic Black ink. I had used my "Scan n Cut" machine to cut him out. I had stamped a full sheet of characters from that set and cut them all out at one time. I colored it using Golden Glow ink and a Blending pen. I didn't buy the Blends pens in the in colors because they won't be around long enough for me so I just use a Blending pen and the ink. I did outline some areas using the light Pecan Pie Blends pen and for the mouth I used both light and dark Petal Pink.  Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the square. 

The "Happy Birthday" is from the same set and was stamped using Basic Black ink on a scrap of Basic White card stock. I used the "Three Banner" punch to punch them out. I added Dimensionals to the back and set it in place on the front of the card about 3/8" from the bottom edge and 1/4" from the right edge. And that was it. 

I think it's a sweet card and it was very fun to make.

Wild Bunch, Note Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a note card to share with you. I found it on Pinterest and just had to make it. Since I have a lot of these characters from the "Wild Bunch" set already cut out, I might as well use them, right? You can see the original card by clicking here.  Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock.  A 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Basic White card stock was cut and taped to the inside.

The polka dotted Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Paper Medley" 12" x 12" package. I cut it at 5-1/4" x 4" and taped it to the front of the card.

Using the 3rd square in the "Stylish Shapes" set I used a scrap piece of Basic White card stock to cut it out on. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set aside.

I used the light Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie Blends pens to color in the penguin. 

The words were done next. They are from the same "Wild Bunch" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Pool Party card stock using Basic Black ink.  I cut the piece to measure 1" x 1-3/8".  I added a tiny dot of tape to the back and set it on the square piece. I did the same with the penguin.  Once they were where I liked them I set them in place. I added tape to the right side of the word piece and placed it back on the square. 

Dimensionals were added to the back of the penguin where it touched the square and it was set in place. 

I removed the backing from the Dimensionals on the square and set it in place on the front of the card. It's about 3/8" from the fold and the right side and 1-1/2" from the top edge and measuring from the square it's about 2-1/8" from the bottom edge.

The dots are from the "Bats Ghosts & Dots" embellishment package. There's so many of them in the package that I'm pretty sure I won't be using them all up on Halloween cards. So I'm trying to use up what I have.

This was a super easy, quick and fun card to make. I like this simple layout and can see myself using it again in the near future.

Lovely Arrangements, Fern & Flora, Friendship Note Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a very quick and easy card to share with you. I found it on the internet. You can see the original card by clicking here. I did change it a little. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the front of the card.

Next I cut the circle pieces using the die from the "Lovely Arrangements" bundle. Two were needed for the front of the card. Dimensionals (lots of Dimensionals) were added to the back of the pieces and set in place on the front of the card.

The Basic White "greenery" were cut using the dies from the "Fern & Flora" bundle. I arranged them the way I thought they looked best and added a little tape to hold them. I flipped them over and added little dots of glue to the more wider white spaces and then set the grouping down on the front of the card.

A white Baker's Twine bow was tied and just laid on top of the card. I didn't glue it yet because I need to see where the words would go and how it would look.

The words are from the "Lovely Arrangements" bundle and were stamped using Basic Black ink on Basic White card stock. I cut them out with the die in the same bundle.  I set it across the bow and moved the two around until I thought it looked good. The bow was then glued down and the word piece was set in place using Dimensionals. And that was it, the card was done.

This was a very quick card to make. I'm a big fan of white on white.

Framed Violets, Velvet Meadow, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Velvet Meadow" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the front of the card base.

Next I stamped the flowers from the "Framed Violets" 12" x 12" package using Basic Black ink. I cut them out with the matching die. I don't have the in colors Blends so I used my Blending pen and ink pads to color it. I used Hydrangea Hue for the flowers and Peaceful Pine for the greens.  

Using the "Framed Violets" dies, I cut the scalloped oval using Peaceful Pine card stock. I also cut an oval using Basic White card stock. On the Basic White piece I stamped the words from the same "Framed Violets" set using Basic Black ink. I taped the ovals together and added Dimensionals to the back. I set the piece in place on the front of the card.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the flower piece and it was placed on top of the oval. 

I added a couple of tiny pearls to the center of the flowers. 

And for a final touch, I added a brass butterfly that I had leftover. I have two more in that package and it will be great to actually use up a package of embellishments.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. I love the softness of the colors on here.

Wild Bunch, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a friendship card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Calypso Coral card stock for the largest layer. 

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) used here is from the "Paper Medley" 12" x 12" package. It was cut at 4-1/4" x 3". It 's taped to a 4-1/2" x 3-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set aside.

I took a scrap piece of Calypso Coral and made the frame using the 2nd and 3rd dies in the "Nested Essentials" set. I also cut a Basic White piece using both dies. I trimmed away the dotted edge on the larger Basic White piece so I could use it as a backing. I taped the frame to the piece.

On the smaller Basic White piece I scrubbed on some "Smoky Slate" ink using my Blending brush. I taped that to the center of the Calypso Coral frame. Dimensionals were added on the back and it was set aside.

The snail is from the "Wild Bunch" set and was stamped using Basic Black ink. I want to say I fussy cut it out but what I did was I stamped a 8-1/2" x 11" piece of Basic White card stock using all of the characters in the "Wild Bunch" set and I ran it through my Scan n Cut and let the machine cut them out for me. It's such a hand and time saver.  I colored the snail's body using my Ivory Blends pen. And for the shell I used my light and dark Calypso Coral Blends pens. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the center of the rectangle framed piece. 

The words are from the same "Wild Bunch" set and were stamped using Basic Black ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the 3rd circle die in the "Stitched Shapes" set. I colored around the edge using the dark Calypso Coral Blends pen. 

Next I removed the backing on the Dimensionals on the large Basic White and DSP piece and centered it on top of the large Calypso Coral layer.

The snail layered piece was set in place on the upper part of the card using equal spacing on the sides and top.

The words were taped in place under the snail image and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make. It didn't take much coloring and with the Scan n Cut cutting out my piece it didn't take much time to make either.  I hope to use that machine more but most of the sets I buy have matching dies.

Oh My Fright, Frightfully Fun, Halloween Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have two cards to share with you. I wasn't thrilled with the simpler looking one so I thought I'd try another card instead. But I decided to post the not so good one just to let you see that sometimes I can make ugly cards!  It sure needs a lot of finesse but it's going to just stay like it is. I'll probably give it to one of the granddaughters with money in it. They just toss the card anyway and that one is toss worthy! LOL. 

The basically plain card was just a piece of DSP from the "Frightfully Fun" 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP) package. I cut it at 3-3/4" x 5" and taped it to a 4" x 5" piece of Basic Black card stock. I thought adding Dimensionals to the back to pop it up might improve it.  It didn't.  The large bat is a sticker from the "Frightfully Fun Times" sticker sheet.  I have problems with stickers sometimes. Like that large bat for instance. I would have rather popped it up with Dimensionals but it's just laying there flat. Same with the smaller bat. It's from the same sticker package.  As were the words and the framed piece it was affixed to.  That would have looked better popped up too.  I did use one of the cute bat embellishments in the upper left corner and in that same package was some black and white dots. I used three dots on the card. I can't say I'm thrilled with this card at all. But I really do like the other card, it's got nice detail and dimension.  Please read on to see how I made that card.

I had searched my stack of card sketches to see what I thought would be fun to play with and I came up with this one.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside.  

The DSP is from the same "Frightfully Fun" package. It measures 5-1/4" x 4" and was taped to the card front.

Then I cut a 4-1/2" x 3-1/4" piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock for one of the top layers. A 4-1/4" x 3" piece of Basic Black card stock will go on top of that. The DSP, from the same package, was cut at 4" long and cut into strips of 3/4", 1" 3/4" (all 4" long).  I taped the outside 3/4" pieces down first and added the 1" center piece. It's easier to get it to look better spaced when I do it that way. I taped the Basic Black piece to the Pumpkin Pie piece. Dimensionals were added to the back and set it in place on the front of the card. 

The tree was cut using the die from the "Oh My Fright" die set. I cut 4 of them from a piece of Basic Black card stock. I glued them together. I wanted it to have more depth than just using Dimensionals plus I wanted the branches more solid than flopping around. It would be almost impossible to add Dimensionals to the tips of the branches.  

There is a die in the set that has 3 bats in one. SO I cut the three bats out. I cut my Dimensionals so the would fit on the back of the bats. 

I stamped the words from the "Oh My Fright" set using Versa Mark on Basic Black card stock. I sprinkled white embossing powder on it and heat set it. I cut them out using the 4th circle die in the "Stylish Shapes" set. Dimensionals were added to the back.

I die cut a ghost using vellum and I was ready to assemble the card. 

I laid the ghost behind the tree in several spots until I could find an area I liked it. I added tape to the lower part of the ghost and set it in place. Then I glued the tree in place. The bats were added next. 

The word piece was set in place. I made sure I didn't add Dimensionals to the areas that would hang over. 

And for the fun part. I added three ghost from the super stinkin' cute "Bats, Ghosts & Dots" package.  And the card was done. 

This card was way more fun to make. It has a not of movement to it. It has lots of pieces and I just like it better.

Wild Bunch, Woodland Wishes, Waterside Resort, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a quick Christmas card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. 

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock for the largest layer. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Old Olive card stock. I taped the two pieces together.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Waterside Resort" 12" x 12" package and was taped to the Old Olive layer.

I cut a 3/16" x 3-7/8" strip of Mossy Meadow and taped it over the open space where the two pieces of DSP line up.

I cut two circles using dies from the "Stylish Shapes" set. I used the 2nd and 3rd dies in that set. I used Mossy Meadow card stock for the larger circle and Basic White card stock for the smaller circle. On the smaller circle I scrubbed on some Old Olive ink. I taped the circles together. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on top of the card about 7/8" from the fold and the bottom and 1/2" from the right side.

Next I stamped the penguin from the "Wild Bunch" set and colored it in using Blends and a Blending pen. I used light Basic Black on the head and sides/arms. I used light Pumpkin Pie for the beak and feet. I took my Blending pen and Smoky Slate ink and lightly colored it around the bottom of the body and above the ears. I also used Petal Pink and the Blending pen to lightly color the "cheeks". Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the top of the circles.

The words are from the "Woodland Wishes" set and were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink. I punched them out using the "Three Banner" punch. I also punched out a Mossy Meadow piece and another Mossy Meadow piece but just about 1/2" of the tip. I taped the tip piece in place first and for the other piece I cut it in half lengthwise. I taped it to the top and bottom of the word piece. Tape was added to the back of the word piece and it was set in place on the front of the card about 1-3/8" from the bottom of the card and the tip is about 7/8" from the left side. This measurement may vary with your card due to where you put the Dimensionals. Mine ended up being butted up agains a Dimensional. 

I don't have any bling to add at the moment but I may find something before I add this to my stash.

This was a quick card to make. My plan for the card was to make a Christmas card using the penguin image. Mission accomplished. It's just too bad I didn't have any holiday DSP but I just used what I had and made it work.

Fern & Flora, Moonlit Flora, Wild Bunch, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a friendship card to share with you. It required a lot of fussy cutting but I think it's worth it. Please read on to see how it was made. 

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Moonlit Flora" 12" x 12" package and taped it to the front of the card base. On top of that is taped a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Soft Sea Foam card stock.

On top of the Soft Sea Foam piece I cut a 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" piece of DSP from the same package. I taped it to the left side of the piece and on the right side I taped a 3-1/2" x 1" piece of Basic Black card stock that I textured using the "Paradise Garden" embossing folder. I glued that piece in place.

Now the fun began. On one of the sheets I found some really pretty leaf clusters, so I fussy cut them. I also fussy cut the flowers and a little moth.  

After all the fussy cutting, I die cut some Basic White flowers, Golden Glow flowers, a Basic Black fern, a basic White fern, a Basic White leaf cluster, a Soft Sea Foam curled fern, and a couple of leaf clusters in Soft Sea Foam. 

I assembled the little flowers and added the centers to them using glue. 

A Golden Glow circle was cut using the 2nd largest die in the "Stylish Shapes" set. I also cut a Basic Black circle using the 3rd largest die and a Basic White circle using the 4th largest die. 

I stamped the words from the "Wild Bunch" set using Basic Black ink on my Basic White circle. I set them aside.

Now came all the assembling. I started out with the two big leaf clusters I cut. I laid the Basic Black circle on top of the ends of them and cut away the excess. I was careful to preserve anything I had fussy cut so I could tuck it in later. Once the big leafy clusters were down I then taped them to the Golden Glow circle. Once again I laid the Basic Black circle on top and began tucking some taped and glued pieces under it.  

When I had everything were I thought it looked good, I set the Basic Black circle in place using Dimensionals.  

I added tape to the word piece and set it on top of the Basic Black piece but I didn't press down on it. I tucked the fussy cut gold flowers under it and also on top of the layers of flora I had previously added.  There was a leaf piece I was able to salvage so I taped that to the lower right of the circle along with a couple of flower buds. 

The little moth was added using a small Dimensional and I set it in the upper right corner (so cute!). 

I added the little black dots are from the "Bats Ghosts & Dots" embellishments package and the card was done.

I'm not sure what took longer, the fussing cutting or all the arranging of what was fussy cut and die cut. I am thrilled with how the card turned out. I'm not sure I'd want to make another one like it, it was very time consuming.

Fern & Flora, Prayers & Promises, Sympathy Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a sympathy card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock for the top layer. 

Next I cut a strip of Basic White card stock that I textured by using my cutting/scoring board. I lined up my card stock in my paper cutter and I scored 10 lines that were 1/8" apart. I flipped it over and trimmed it to 1-1/4" wide (trimming very close to the first and last score lines) and I cut it to 4" long.  I laid this piece on top of the large Basic White card stock so I could see where the words would go. You will want to use the raised side for the front of the card.

The words are from the "Prayers & Promises" set and were stamped using Smoky Slate ink.

I die cut the fern pieces from the "Fern & Flora" bundle using Basic White card stock. 

A 3/4" x 1-1/4" piece of Basic White was cut to go on top of the scored piece. I wrapped a piece of Baker's Twine around it four times. 

The fern pieces were taped in place and then the twine wrapped piece was glued on top of that. I used glue because the piece is not completely flat on the back and I wanted to be sure that the twine stays in place.  Plus it helps hold the stems of the fern pieces in place. I did add a little bit of glue to the ferns to hold the top parts down. 

Dimensionals were added to the back of the scored piece and it was set in place on the front of the card about 5/8" from the edge of the top layer. 

Dimensionals were added to the back of the large layer and it was set in place on the front of the card. 

I stamped a little moth from the "Fern & Flora" bundle using Smoky Slate ink. I cut it out with the matching die. I glued it in place on top of the wrapped twine piece and the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. I am such a fan of white on white cards.

Wild Bunch, Fabulous Sayings, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fun card to share with you that I found on Pinterest.  You can see the original card by clicking here. I did change it a little. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock that I had printed a Buffalo Plaid design on using my computer. I had the SVG file for years.  I was glad I was able to locate it. I tried to match the Golden Glow color as much as I could. I'm pretty close! I taped this piece to the card base. 

Next, using the "Arched Dies" set I cut a piece of Basic White using the 6th largest die and I cut a piece of Golden Glow using the 5th largest die.

On the Basic White piece I textured it using the "Paradise Garden" embossing folder. I glued it to the Golden Glow arched piece. I set it under my stamping mat to set up and lay flat.

The snail is from the "Wild Bunch" set and was stamped using Basic Black ink. I colored the shell using Golden Glow ink (I didn't buy the Blends pens so I used my blending pen and the ink pad to color it in). I colored the body part using my light Smoky Slate Blends pen. I fussy cut the piece out.

The words are from the "Fabulous Saying" set and were stamped using Basic Black ink on Basic White card stock.  I cut them out using a die from the "Fern & Flora" bundle. I cut the words to the right so I could add something on the left since the words weren't long like they are on the original card. I colored the edges of the piece using Golden Glow ink. 

The leaf on the left was cut from a scrap piece using a die in the "Fern & Flora" bundle. 

Dimensionals were added to the back of the arched pieces. I set it in place on the center of the card.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the word piece and it was set in place about 3/8" up from the bottom edge of the Golden Glow arched piece. 

And Dimensionals were added to the back of the snail and it was set in place about 1/4" up from the top edge of the word piece. 

I glued the leafy image in place to the left of the "hello".  I also added some Wink of Stella to the buds on that piece. 

This was a fun card to make and I was glad I was able to use the Buffalo Plaid design I had. It's just too fun to play with and it's what this card needed.

Cutest Crew, Wild Bunch, Children's Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card by clicking here. I did change it a little.  

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. 

On the top of this card I die cut a quarter sheet of Balmy Blue card stock using the "Eyelet Blooms" die. I just had to have that die. I think it's SO pretty. I cut the piece and then I got all of the pieces out of the die and I thought it wasn't so bad, there wasn't a lot of pieces stuck in the die. Nope, they were stuck on the card stock. So I spent a bit of time getting the pieces out of there. UGH. I am not sure how much I'll be using it in the near future.  My love for the die dropped a little!  LOL  I'm sure I'll grab it again and forget about the time it took to clean it out. I used little dots of glue and stuck it to the front of the card base.

Next I cut the Basic White ribbon looking piece using the 8th die in the "Party Banners" die set. I taped it to the front of the card, centering it at the top as much as I could by eyeing it.

I die cut the circles. The Balmy Blue circle was cut using the largest circle die in the "Stylish Shapes" set and I used the second largest die using Basic White card stock.

On the Basic White circle, I scrubbed on some Balmy Blue ink using a blending brush. 

The birthday greeting is from the "Wild Bunch" set using Basic Black ink. I taped the two circles together. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the center of the banner piece.

I stamped the birds from the "Cutest Crew" set using Basic Black ink on Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the matching die. I colored the birds using light Blends pens, Daffodil Delight, Balmy Blue, Bubble Bath. I also used the dark Soft Sea Foam Blends pen for the grass. Dimensionals were added to the back and they were set in place on the circle just above the word piece.

I used some retired "Loose Frosted Dots" embellishments for the bling and the card was done.

This was actually a fun card to make in spite of having to remove all of those die cut dots on the "Eyelet Blooms" piece.

Waterside Resort, Cutest Crew, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a quick and easy masculine birthday card to share with you. I found it on Pinterest. You can see the original card by clicking here. I did change the card a little. Please read on to see how I made the card. 

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Misty Moonlight card stock for the largest layer. On top of that is a 4' x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) "Waterside Resort" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the Misty Moonlight piece.

Next I cut a 2" x 3-1/2" piece of DSP from the same package and taped it to a 2-1/4" x 3-3/4" piece of Misty Moonlight card stock.

On the backside of the fish DSP you will find the waves image. I cut that piece at 1" x 2-1/2". I taped it to a 1-1/4" x 2-3/4" piece of Misty Moonlight card stock.

The words are from the "Cutest Crew" stamp set and were stamped using Misty Moonlight ink. I used the middle slot from the 'Three Banner" punch to punch them out. 

I fussy cut a bobber (I think it's called a bobber) and I took a marker and went around the edges to give it a bit of color so it didn't get lost in the wooded piece of DSP. 

I taped the fish layer down first about 1/2" from the fold and about 3/4" from the top and bottom edges. 

Next I taped the waves piece on top of the fish layer. It's about 1" from the right side and 1-3/8" from the top and bottom edges.  

The "happy birthday" is from the "Cutest Crew" stamp set and was set in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals. It's about 2" from the bottom edge and 3/8" from the right side. 

I added a couple small Dimensionals to the back of the bobber piece and set it in place on the front of the card at an angle.  It's about 3/8" from the bottom edge and the top part of the bobber is about 1/2" from the right edge.  And that was it, the card was done.

This was a fun, quick and easy card to make. It's a great masculine card!

Cutest Crew, Children's Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a children's birthday card to share with you. I don't make many boy crds and I thought this one would be perfect for a boy. Who doesn't love the looks of this cow?  I liked the layout on a card I saw on Pinterest so I thought I'd go with it. You can see that card by clicking here. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a quarter sheet of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Forever Plaid" embossing folder and then I trimmed it to 4" x 5-1/4".

Using the second largest circle in the "Stylish Shapes" die set, I cut it out on scrap card stock. Then, using my blending brush, I scrubbed on some Misty Moonlight ink where I thought the cow would look the best.

I stamped the cow from the "Cutest Crew" using Basic Black ink. I fussy cut it out. Then I colored it using Blends pens. I used Ivory on the top of the nose, bottom lip, and the horns. I used Petal Pink on the ears and the rest of the nose area. The top part of the head and now the forehead to the nose was colored in with both light and dark Crumb Cake. And the body, face and top of the ears was colored in using both light and dark Pecan Pie. 

Do you see how perfectly I fussy cut the cow out?  It's not perfect but I have a trick to make it look perfect and I'm going to share it with you again. I say again because it's been a very long time since I shared it. I just figured everyone knew how to do it by now.  Anyway. I lay my image on a piece of scrap copier paper and I take a Sharpie and color around the edges, like tracing the image. I used to use the belly of a marker but Stampin' Up! no longer sells the markers.  I didn't want to use my Basic Black Blends pen because I didn't want to ruin it so I just used a regular old Sharpie.  Just trace along, don't stop or the ink bleeds. Once it's all traced it looks like you are the best fussy cutter around!  It gives the edges that nice solid look and I think it looks more professional too!  Give it a try and tell me what you think. I don't often do it but when the mood hits I do!

The words are from the same "Wild Bunch" set and were stamped using Basic Black ink. I cut them out using a die from the "Stylish Shapes" set.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the textured piece and it was set in place on the front of the card.

Then the word piece was added with Dimensionals and lastly the cow was added with Dimensionals. It was set so the back feet were lined up with the word piece.

I used three black dots from the "Adhesive-Backed Bats Ghosts & Dots" package. It's such a cute package and I can see myself using the bats and ghosts but the dots, not as much so when I was thinking about adding something to the card I thought of that package and added three of the black ones to the card and the card was done.

This was a very fun card to make and I'm happy with how the cow turned out.

Framed Violets, Wild Bunch, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you using the new "Framed Violets" bundle.  This is one set I'm going to keep for a long time because I love the oval and the scalloped oval behind it.  Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Lazy Daisy" embossing folder. I glued it to the front of the card and then I set it under my stamping mat so lay flat while the glue dried.

I cut two strips of Designer Series Paper (DPS) from the "Bloom Boutique" 12" x 12" package that measure 1-1/2" x 4-3/4" each. The Hydrangea Hue card stock behind the DSP measures 1-3/4" x 5".  I taped the layers together and then glued them to the front of the card. There is about 1/4" space between the two strips and they are about 1/4" from the fold and right side and top and bottom. I set the piece under my stamping mat again.

Next I cut the scalloped oval using a piece of Hydrangea Hue card stock. I also cut a basic White piece using the solid oval in the bundle.  I taped the two pieces together.

Using the dies in the bundle, the stem was cut using gold foil card stock. 

The leaves were cut using Granny Apple Green card stock and the flowers were cut using Hydrangea Hue card stock. 

I taped the stem piece down first and then the flowers were added. I made sure the center of the flowers lined up with the stem piece so you could see the gold under them. The leaves were added next.

The words are from the "Wild Bunch" set and were stamped using Basic Black ink. I cut them out using the die from the "Stylish Shapes" set. I also die cut the next size larger using Hydrangea Hue card stock. I taped the layers together.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the oval piece and it was centered on the front of the card. Dimensionals were also added to the back of the word piece and it was set in place over the oval about 1-1/2" up from the bottom edge of the card and the card was done.

I can't wait to play with this set more in the near future. I love these colors. This would make a nice get well card, Mother's Day card, thank you card or a thinking of you card. It's very versatile.
