Ready, Set, Go!, Gears & Texture, Teen/Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card by clicking here. I did change it a little. Please read on to see how I made this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

A 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Basic Black card stock was cut and taped to the front of the card base.

Using the "Forever Plaid" embossing folder was used on a piece of Smoky Slate card stock. It was trimmed to 3-3/4" x 5". This was glued to the Basic Black layer. I placed it under my stamping mat to lay flat and set up.

Next I cut the banner pieces. I used the 9th and 10th banner die in the "Party Banners" set. I used Real Red on the large one and Basic White card stock on the smaller one.

I stamped the card and the flags from the "Ready, Set, Go!" bundle using Basic Black ink. I cut them out using the matching dies.

The car was colored in using Blends pens. I used light Real Red, dark Daffodil Delight, light Basic Black and light Smoky Slate. Dimensionals were added to the back and I set it on top of the Basic White banner, I didn't stick it down, I just laid it on there so I could see where the words would go.

The words are from the same "Ready, Set, Go!" bundle and were stamped using Basic Black ink.

Once the words were stamped I taped the Basic White banner to the Real Red banner. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card. I didn't press down on the bottom part of the banner layers.

The car was added next and then the flags.

I die cut a couple of gears from the "Gears & Texture" bundle using Basic Black card stock on the large gear and silver card stock on the smaller one. I added glue to the large one and slipped it under the banner piece. I glued the silver piece to the center of the large gear.

I didn't have any black dots so I took three of the "Loose Frosted Dots" pieces and I colored them black using the dark Basic Black Blends pen. I glued them in place and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and I'm thrilled to add another teen card to my very thin stash!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's teen birthday card,

Velvet Meadow, Scalloped Blooms, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card by clicking here.  Please read on to see how I put this card together.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Peaceful Pine card stock and taped it to the front of the card.

Using the "Lazy Daisy" embossing folder I textured a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Berry Burst card stock and then I glued it to the front of the card. I set it under my stamping mat to set up and lay flat.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Velvet Meadow" 12" x 12" package and was cut at 4-3/4" x 3-1/2".

I used the birthday greetings from the "Scalloped Blooms" bundle with Peaceful Pine ink. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card. Icentered it as much as I could by eyeing it.

The bling is from the "Loose Frosted Dots" container and I glued on three yellow ones.  And that was it, the card was done.

You can get 6 cards from just one sheet of this DPS. There are two sheets of this design in the package, so you could whip up 12 cards in no time at all.

This was a very fun, quick and easy card to make.

Thank you for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,

Velvet Meadow, Banner Saying, All Aflutter, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how I made it.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Cloud Cover card stock for the largest layer. On top of that is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Velvet Meadow" 12" x 12" package. I cut the piece in half and turned one around so the backside is showing. I taped both pieces down.

Then I cut a 2-3/4" x 3-1/2" piece of Cloud Cover card stock and a 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" piece of DSP from the same package was taped on top of that. I added Dimensionals behind it and set it in place on the front of the card, centering it as much as I could by eyeing it.

I took a piece of Basic White card stock and cut out one of the dies from the "Sweet Words & Labels" die set. I taped it to the top of the Cloud Cover centered layer.

I fussy cut the flowers and leaves from a sheet of the same DSP. I didn't buy the dies so I have to fussy cut but it's okay, it doesn't take long. I taped down the double flower first. Then the large piece was added using Dimensionals. I never press down right away on pieces with Dimensionals in case I need to slide a leaf or words under it.

The words are from the "Banner Sayings" set and were cut out using the "Three Banner" punch.  I added tape to it and slipped it under the larger flower.

Using a little glue on the ends of the leaves I slipped them under the flowers.

The butterfly is from the "All Aflutter" set. I stamped it on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using Berry Burst ink. I cut it out using the matching punch. I added a Dimensional to the back and set it in place on the card.

For the bling I added three pieces from the "Loose Frosted Dots" (retired) container and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and even though it's not exactly like the original card, I still like how it looks.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,

Meant for You Ephemera, Children's Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a quick and easy children's birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. I cut a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Pool Party card stock was cut for the largest layer. I taped that to the card base.

Next I cut a 4-1/2" x 3-1/4"piece of Basic White card stock and taped a 4-1/4" x 3" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Paper Medley" 12" x 12" package on top of it. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on top of the Pool Party layer.

I took a scrap piece of Pool Party card stock and using two of the rectangle dies from the "Nested Essentials" set and cut a frame. I had used the second and third dies in that set for the frame. I also took the second die and cut a piece of Basic White card stock. I cut around the dotted "lines" and then scrubbed on some Daffodil Delight ink using a blending brush. I glued this piece and frame together. The piece was then taped on top of the DSP using equal spacing on the top and left side.

Using the "Meant for You" ephemera package I took the cupcake and balloon cluster from the die cut pieces. Dimensionals were added to the back of both and they were set in place on the front of the card.

The word piece is also from the same ephemera package. I stamped the words from the using Basic Black ink on the "Banner Sayings" set to the left side of that piece. I trimmed the right side to match the left. I added a small Dimensional to each end and set them in place over the strings of the balloon cluster.

I added some Wink of Stella to the balloons and the cupcake to give it a bit of a shine. I just thought it needed something.  And the card was done.

This was a fun, quick and easy card to make. I like using these ephemera packages because there's so many pieces in them and you can have fun putting together quick and fun cards.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in to see today's children's birthday card,

Wild Bunch, Children's or Teens Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you using the "Wild Bunch" set. Between this set and the "Cutest Crew" set, I just can't get enough! Both are so much fun to play with. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Smoky Slate card stock and I stamped the hash marked squares using Smoky Slate ink. I just put the stamp on my clear block as straight as I could get it and I stamped from the bottom edge up. I used the left edge of the card stock and the left edge of the clear blog as a guide so I could get a straight (or fairly straight) line. I taped this piece to the front of the care base.

Next I cut the circle from the "Spotlight on Nature" dies using Basic White card stock. I scrubbed on some Balmy Blue ink. Then I stamped the greens in the background using a stamp in the "Wild Bunch" set and Mossy Meadow ink. I masked off the bottom so it "drew" a straight line to distinguish the ground from the background.

The koala was stamped using Basic Black ink and fussy cut. I colored it in using Blends pens. I started with the cheeks and light Bubble Bath. I also colored in the ears with it too. Then I colored in the koala using light Smoky Slate. I made the highlights using dark Smoky Slate. The nose is colored in using light Basic Black. I took a white pen and added some dots and highlights on the bear. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the center of the circle. Dimensionals were added to the back of the circle and it was set in place on the front of the card about 3/4" from the top and sides.

The happy birthday is from the same set and was stamped using Basic Black ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. It was then punched out using the "Three Banner" punch. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card about 7/8" up from the bottom and about 1" from the sides.

I thought the card could use a punch of color so I glued on a few "Frosted Dots" that I got on clearance. They are so pretty and you'll be seeing them on upcoming future cards.

This was a very fun card to make and I LOVE this set SO much.

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,

Gears & Texture, With You In Mind, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fun card to share with you. It was made using the "One Sheet Wonder" technique.  I found it on Pinterest and you can see the original by clicking here. There is a video you can follow too.  I'm only posting one of the 4 cards I made. Please read on to see how it was made.

I used the "Gears & Texture" bundle to make the card. I've used the bundle before but only the dies so this was a first time I used the stamps.

The colors of ink pads used here are Old Olive, Crumb Cake, Lost Lagoon, Basic Black, Pecan Pie, and Pretty Peacock.

The lady in the video had you make a pencil line to mark the for spaces on the full sheet of Basic White card stock. I just put my piece on my paper cutter and scored the lines to get my grid. It's all being cut away so it didn't matter if it was pencil or score marks though the score marks were a lot quick her than measuring and drawing.

I used the "With You In Mind" set to stamp the birthday greetings. I was looking through my current sets to find some thing that was large but I didn't have anything, so I dug out a recently retired set and used it.

The die cut gears and pieces were cut using Crumb Cake, Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock, Basic Black, and Silver Foil card stock.

After all of the stamping in the middle area of the full sheet and across the score lines I cut my pieces to measure 3-3/4" x 5".

I used Lost Lagoon for my layer and it measured 4" x 5-1/4".  That was taped to a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

Some of the gears I popped up with Dimensionals and other elements I just glued in place.

This was fun and it was great to get 4 cards done so fast. My masculine stash is not very big so this was nice to be able to add to it.

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's masculine birthday card,

Cutest Crew, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. I didn't have the same materials but I ran with what I had. You can see the original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how I made the card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Hydrangea Hue card stock for the largest layer. On top of that is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White card stock.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Bloom Boutique" 12" x 12" package. I cut it at 2" x 4-3/4" and taped it at the bottom of the Basic White layer leaving a 1/8" border on the sides and bottom.

I cut a piece of Hydrangea Hue card stock and textured it using the "Lazy Daisy" embossing folder. I trimmed it to 4-3/4" x 3/8" and I glued it to the top edge of the DSP.  Had I been paying better attention I should have cut the DSP a little narrower. I would have been able to get the word piece up higher but it all worked out anyway.

The words are from the "Cutest Crew" bundle and were stamped using Basic Black ink. I punched them out using the "Modern Oval" punch. Dimensionals were added to the back and I set them aside.

At the same time I stamped the words, I stamped the birds. I just can't get enough of those birds! They are just too cute and too fun to play with.  I cut them out using the matching die. They were colored in using Blends for the yellow and red bird. I used Daffodil Delight and Poppy Parade. For the blue bird I used Hydrangea Hue ink pad and a blending pen. I didn't buy the Blends. The grass was colored in using the dark Soft Sea Foam pen and the beaks were colored in using the light Pumpkin Pie pen. Dimensionals were added to the back and they were set in place on top of the textured strip.

Next I set the words in place.

I also punched out some butterflies using a die in the bundle and Hydrangea Hue card stock. I had a scrap piece but if I hadn't I would have cut it from the large layer.  Once the butterflies were added, the card was done.

This was such a fun card to make and I just love the looks and feel of it.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,

Wild Bunch, Moonlit Flora, Child/Teen Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fun card to share with you using the "Wild Bunch" set. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock for the top layer. In the center of this piece, I cut the 3rd largest circle in the "Stylish Shapes" set for the largest layer behind the koala bear.

The Designer Series Paper (DPS) is from the "Moonlit Flora" 12" x 12" package to measure 4" x 5-1/4".  I taped the DSP to the Mossy Meadow piece and then that was taped to the card base.

Next I cut the strips. I took a different sheet from the same package of DSP. They measure 1/2" x 3-3/4" and the Mossy Meadow layer measures 3/4" x 4". I taped these layers together and then taped them to the front of the card. The top one is about 1" from the top edge of the card base. I left a 1/8" strip between the next two layer strips. I had a 1/8" strip scrap from cutting my card stock. I was glad I could use it for a spacer!

Using the 4th circle in the "Stylish Shapes" set I cut a Basic White circle. I took my blending brush and scrubbed on some Mossy Meadow ink. I taped the circles together. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set aside.

The koala bear from the "Wild Bunch" set was stamped using Basic Black ink. I used my Blending Pens to color it in. I colored all the fur areas using the Ivory pen. I'm not sure if it's current but it's what is in my pen holder. Then I colored highlights with the light Pecan Pie pen. I cam back in with the Ivory one to get those two colors to blend in better. The ears were colored in using the dark Petal Pink pen and the nose was colored in using the light Basic Black pen. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the circled layers. Then that was set in place on the front of the card. I centered it on the layered strips.

The words are from the same "Wild Bunch" set and was stamped using Mossy Meadow ink. I punched them out using the "Three Banner" punch. I also punched a piece of Mossy Meadow card stock. I cut it in half down the center and taped each end to the back of the word piece. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. I think it's a cute card for a child/teen.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,

Velvet Meadow, Scalloped Blooms, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Lazy Daisy" embossing folder. I glued it to the front of the card and set it under my stamping mat to dry and lay flat.

While that was setting up I cut a 4-3/4" x 3-3/8" piece of Cloud Cover card stock for the large colored layer.

On top of that layer I set strips of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Velvet Meadow" 12" x 12" package.  What was great about these strips is they were trimmed from pieces I left in the bag. It was great to be able to use them up on a card. I don't save pieces like the center one but that was trimmed from a little bit wider piece. You never know when you can use them. Going from left to right, my strips measure 1" x 4-1/2", 5/8" x 4-1/2", and 1-1/4" x 4-1/2".  I taped the outside strips first and then added the center one. This piece was then glued to the embossed piece and it was once again set under my stamping mat to dry and lay flat.

I had some fussy cut flower pieces but I needed more. They are from one of the sheets in the "Velvet Meadow" package. I have one flower set (it has two flowers connected on it) and two separate flowers, plus 4 leaves (all fussy cut because I didn't buy the die set).

The words are from the "Scalloped Blooms" bundle and were stamped using Basic Black ink on Basic White card stock. It measures 1-1/2" x 2-3/4" and the Cloud Cover layer measures 1-3/4" x 3". I taped the word piece to the Cloud Cover piece, lining up the right edges.

I added the smallest amount of tape to the flowers so I could put them together but yet could move them if I needed. When I got them to where I liked them on the word piece, I turned the piece over and added Dimensionals. I made sure the Dimenionals covered the edges of the fussy cut pieces so they would stay in place.

The word piece with the flowers and leaves was set in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a very fun card to make and I was thrilled that I was able to use the scraps I had saved!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,

Scalloped Blooms, Fern & Flora, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a quick and easy card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and gave it a few lines using my scoring board. I flipped the piece over and started scoring at 1-1/2" over and I scored 2-1/2" up. I moved over 1/8" and scored 2-1/4". I kept moving over 1/8" and scoring 1/4" less than the previous score line. Once done I turned the piece over because I liked the lines raised.

I had some ferns cut from a previous project. They are from the "Fern & Flora" bundle and were cut from Basic White card stock.  I had positioned them on the front of the card and just ran my tape over the area where the word piece would go. It wasn't holding them in place well but they weren't moving enough to matter.

The words are from the "Scalloped Blooms" bundle and were stamped using Basic Black ink. I cut them out using the second smallest rectangle die from the "Stylish Shapes" set. The "Scalloped Blooms" bundle has it's own dies but I wanted a rectangle one for this card. Dimensionals were added to the back of the rectangle and it was set in place on the front of the card. I had really wanted to use Smoky Slate ink but for some reason I grabbed my black and it needed inking so I was doing that and the next thing I knew I stamped the words in black. It's okay because I like it as it is.

Dimensionals were added to the scored piece and it was set in place on the front of the card.

Three clear dots from the "Ladybug Garden" epoxy shapes were added to the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. I think it can be used for many other occasions as well.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda

Days Like This Memories & More, Scalloped Blooms, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I have one more card using the "Days Like This Memories & More" pack before I put it away and move onto something else. I have so many fun sets and papers to play with. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Pool Party card stock for the largest layer.

For the front pieces, I cut two cards from the "Days Like This Memories & More" pack. The piece on the left measures 1-1/2" x 3-3/4" and the larger piece on the right was cut to measure 3-1/2" x 3-3/4".  I taped the pieces to the Pool Party piece.

A 1/4" x 3-3/4" strip of Pool Party card stock was cut and taped where the other two pieces met.

The words were stamped next. They are from the "Scalloped Blooms" bundle and were stamped using Basic Black ink.

Two of the butterflies are left over from yesterday's cards and I cut the orange one from another card in the package.  If you look REALLY close you can see that I added an antenna to the green butterfly. It only had one because it was printed on the side edge of the card. I just cut a piece of Basic White card stock and colored it with a black marker and I taped it to the back of the butterfly. I made sure when I added the Dimensionals that one went across the back of the antenna so it would stay in place. I did make the antenna a bit longer so it would go across the back more so I could make sure it would be able to stay in place. Dimensionals were added to the other two butterflies and they were set in place.  That was it, the card was done.

This was such a super quick and easy card to make. And I promise tomorrow I will be using something other than the "Days Like This Memories & More" package!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda

Days Like This Memories & More, Wild Bunch, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I was looking on Pinterest to find another card using the "Days Like This Memories & More" card pack. Since I had not put it away, I thought I'd try another card. I found this one and I just had to make it. You can see the original card by clicking here. I did change it a little. Please read on to see how it was made.

The first thing I did was I took a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock and I glued on a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock that I textured using the "Lazy Daisy" embossing folder. I set it under my stamping mat to lay flat while it dried.

Then I took my package of "Days Like This Memories & More" and took out two of the butterfly pieces. One of the reasons I was happy to have found this card on Pinterest was because I thought that piece was a bit busy and wasn't sure how I was going to work with it.  When I stumbled upon this card I knew I had to make one.

I fussy cut three of the butterflies out. There were two of them that I saved for another card. Dimensionals were added to the back of the butterflies and they were set in place on top of the matching butterflies. I cut a 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Pool Party card stock for the layer and I taped the butterfly piece to the Pool Party piece.

The words were made next. I stamped them using Basic Black ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I used the "Three Banner" to punch them out.

I glued the butterfly piece on the front of the card. The words were set in place with Dimensionals and the card was done.

Even with the fussy cutting of the butterflies, this was a pretty quick card to make. Sometimes it doesn't matter how long fussy cutting takes when you really like the card you are putting together!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda

Cutest Crew, Wild Bunch, Days Like This Memories & More, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fun card to share with you. I just love these little birds in the "Cutest Crew" bundle. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Lazy Daisy" embossing folder. I glued it to the front of the card. I set it under my stamping mat to lay flat to dry.

The rectangle pieces are from the "Days Like This Memories & More" package. There's a lot of fun cards in that package. I bought this package because the price was right for the amount of cards you can make with it!  There's 6" x 4" cards and  3" x 4" cards. For today's card I used the 3" x 4" ones. The cards are printed on both sides so you can find a contrasting color to go with another card in the package.  For the layers of these cards I cut two pieces of Pool Party that measure 3-1/3" x 4-1/4".  I taped the layers together.

I glued the top piece in place and set the card under my mat again.

On the bottom card I planned to make it a birthday card so my next step was to stamp the birds so I would know where the words would go.

The birds are from the "Cutest Crew" bundle and were stamped using Basic Black ink. I cut them out with the matching die.

I colored the two end birds using both light and dark Flirty Flamingo Blends pens. The middle bird was colored using both light and dark Pool Party Blends pens. The beaks were colored in with the dark Daffodil Delight Blends pen and the grass was colored in using the dark Soft Sea Foam Blends pen.  I laid the piece on top of the butterfly layer so I could see where the words would go.

The words are from the "Wild Bunch" set and were stamped using Basic Black ink.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the birds and I set them in place on the front of the card about 1/2" up from the top of the words. I glued this piece to the front of the card.

I die cut some butterflies from the "Cutest Crew" bundle using Basic White card stock. I colored them with the light Flirty Flamingo Blends pen. I wanted them to match the birds exactly, that's why I colored them instead of using card stock. I glued the butterflies in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was such a fun and easy card to make. I just love these birds. Just too cute!

Velvet Meadow, Wild Bunch, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a pretty birthday card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how I put this card together.

I am one who likes to have my cards on a Basic White base. That way I don't have to cut anything for the inside and create more bulk that could end up being questionable when mailing.  Though I have found I can mail some cards with embellishments if I cut a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of shirt board (cereal box) and set it on top of the card before inserting it in the envelope. You just have to make sure it's under 1/4" thick and under 1 ounce.

So for today's card, I have a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Cloud Cover for the largest layer.

Next I cut a 4-7/8" x 3-5/8" piece of Basic White. On top of that layer is a 4-3/4" x 3-1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Velvet Meadow" 12" x 12" package.  I cut a piece off the bottom at 1" and I flipped it over and taped it back together (I used a little scotch tape on the back to hold the two pieces together. It was just easier for me to do that). Then the piece was taped in place on top of the Basic White piece. And then that was taped to the Cloud Cover piece.

A piece of linen thread was wrapped around the layers. I taped the ends to the back. Then I slipped the thread under the three strands and tied a bow. I glue my bows when using linen thread and I use white school type glue because the mono glue stays sticky when dry.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the Cloud Cover piece and it was set in place on the front of the card.

The words are from the "Wild Bunch" set and were stamped using VersaMark and then sprinkled with white embossing powder on a scrap piece of Cloud Cover card stock. The powder was heat set. I used the "Three Banner" punch to punch the words out. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place just above the linen threads.

I took some clear dots from the "Ladybug Garden" set and set them in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was such a quick and easy card to make. You could get 6 of them just like this off one sheet of the DSP! I only made one. It's not often I make duplicates, I mostly do that at Christmas for our own cards.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,

Fabulous Sayings, Scalloped Blooms, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a friendship card to share with you.  Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock it opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Beautiful Pattern" embossing folder. I wanted some thing that wasn't raised very high on the card stock. I glued this piece to the card base and set it under my stamping mat to dry and lay flat.

Using Cloud Clover card stock I cut two layers. The left one measures 3" x 4-3/4" and the top one measure 3" x 3-3/4".

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Velvet Meadow" 12" x 12" package. I love the feel of the velvet on the sheets in this package.

For the left piece I cut the DSP at 2-3/4" x 4-1/2" and the top one was cut at 2-3/4" x 3-1/2". I taped the DSP to their layers. I glued the left one in place on the front of the card and I set it under my stamping mat to lay flat as it dried.

I fussy cut the flowers from the same sheet of DSP as the left piece. This was kind of tricky to work with since the top and right flower are melded together on the sheet and the bottom part of the right flower is sort of straight.  I grouped the flowers were I thought they looked the best and turned them over so I could add a little scotch tape to hold them together.

Next I fussy cut some leaves and set them near the flowers (so I wouldn't lose them).

Using the "Scalloped Blooms" bundle, I cut the third smallest scalloped circle in the set on Basic White card stock.

The "hello" from the "Fabulous Sayings" was stamped using Basic Black ink. I taped the flowers in place on the circle and then turned the piece over so I could add Dimensionals. I set the piece in place on the top rectangle. Dimensionals were added to the back of that piece and it was set in place on the front of the card.

I added a little glue to the ends of the leaves and set them in place around the flowers. I made sure the double stem/leaf piece went over the flat area of the flower to make it look not so obvious. I think it hid it well.

For my embellishments I used the clear dots from the "Ladybug Garden" package and the package was done.

I would love to make another card like this as a wedding or anniversary card. This is a very versatile card, it would also make a great get well card, birthday card, thinking of you card, and a Mother's Day card too.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,

Ready, Set, Go!, Wild Bunch, Masculine Chile/Teen Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a child/teen card to share with you. In looking through my stash of cards I realized I have hardly any masculine teen cards.  So I thought the "Ready, Set, Go!" bundle would be perfect for my quest. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Smoky Slate card stock for the largest layer. On top of that is a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Love Notes" 6" x 6" stack. I have quite a few pieces of that stack left and I was glad I was able to use this piece. The dots on this piece are actually Soft Sea Foam but it paired well with Smoky Slate. I cut the DSP at 4" x 5-1/4".

A 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" piece of DSP from the "Paper Medley" 12" x 12" package. I cut two pieces because one of them needs to be turned around so I could get the dots on one side and the denim look for the other side. You can make two cards using this layout. I cut my piece wrong so I will only get one card made out of it. I cut the rectangle from corner to corner. And on the second piece, I flipped it over and cut on the same corners. I cut a piece of copier paper copier paper that was just shy of 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" and I taped the DSP rectangles to it. This was then taped over the flowers that were on the piece of DSP from the "Love Notes" stack.

The car is from the "Ready, Set, Go!" bundle and was stamped on Basic White card stock using Basic Black hybrid ink. I colored the car using Poppy Parade light and dark Blends. And the tiers were colored in using both light and dark Basic Black Blends. I cut it out using the matching die. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the rectangle pieces of DSP.

The words are from the "Wild Bunch" set and were stamped on a piece of Basic White card stock using Basic Black hybrid ink. They were punched out using the "Three Banner" punch and set in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals.

I didn't like how empty the bottom looked so I stamped the flags using Basic Black hybrid ink on Basic White card stock. I cut them out with the matching die. Dimensionals were added to the flags and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.  And that was it, the card is done.

This was a very fun card to make and I am very happy with the way it turned out.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's masculine child/teen card,

Fern & Flora, Garden Gathering, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a quick and simple birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock for the largest layer and a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White for the top layer.

On the top layer I took my blending brush and scrubbed on some Soft Sea Foam ink. I thought it was a bit too light and it looked more yellowish than I wanted, so I lightly added some Garden Green.

I die cut the fern pieces from the "Fern & Flora" bundle using Basic White card stock. About 1-5/8" from the right edge and 1-5/8" from the bottom I added a little tape and set the fern pieces in place.

I do not recall where rectangle piece came from, it was sitting on my worktable along with the word piece already cut out. The words are from the "Garden Gathering" set and the die is from the "Sweet Words" label dies. I taped the word piece to the rectangle and added Dimensionals to the back. I set it in place over the taped area.

The two cut layers were taped together. Dimenisonals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card base. And that was it, the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make and it can be used for a number of occasions.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,

Wild Bunch, Cutest Crew, Children's Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fun birthday card to share with you. I love layers and this one has a few! Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Paper Medley" 12" x 12" package and I taped it to the card base.

Next I cut a 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" piece of Basic White card stock and used that as the base for the other pieces.

I cut three strips of DSP (it's on the backside of the larger piece I taped down) and they measure 1" x 2-1/2" each. And the bottom piece measures 2" x 3-1/4".  I taped the bottom piece on first allowing equal space on the sides and bottom.

Then I added the two outside strips and the center one last. I butted the bottoms of those strips to the piece I just taped down.

A 3/16" strip of Petal Pink card stock covered the part where those strips meet the bottom piece.

Using the ""Rounded Rectangle" punch I punched a piece of Petal Pink. I set it aside.

The koala bear is from the "Wild Bunch" set and was stamped using black Memento ink (because I haven't found my Basic Black hybrid ink yet. I fussy cut the koala and then colored him using Blends pens. I used one I had called Ivory. I colored the fur with it. Then I went over parts of the fur with light Pecan Pie and added highlights using the dark Pecan Pie. The ears were colored in using light and dark Petal Pink and the nose was colored in using light and dark Gray Granite. When I make another one I think I will opt to using Smoky Slate instead of the Gray Granite.  Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the Petal Pink rectangle.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the rectangle and I laid it on the card (I didn't remove the backing on the Dimensionals).

The words are from the "Cutest Crew" bundle and were stamped using black Memento ink. I had stamped them on a piece that was already cut from the "Three Banner" punch. I would much rather stamp then punch because I get it straighter but I had the piece (I have a bunch of pieces) so I thought I should use it. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was laid out on the front of the card.

Once I had everything were I liked it, I removed the backing from the Dimensionals and pressed the pieces in place.

This was a fun card to make and I really loved playing with all of the layers and pieces. I didn't find many cards on Pinterest using the "Wild Bunch" set yet, it's still pretty new so inspiration was difficult to find. I ended up taking out a card sketch and working from there.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,

Cutest Crew, Wild Bunch, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fun birthday card to share with you. I found it on Pinterest and just had to make it. I LOVE the birds from the "Cutest Crew" bundle. The cats and dogs are cute too but I tend to be drawn to the birds. When I saw the card on Pinterest I got out my set and began. You can see the original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 6-1/4" piece of Hydrangea Hue card stock for the largest layer.  I didn't want to make mine a fun fold so I just cut the pieces to fit the front.

On the left I cut a 2-1/2 x 3-3/4" piece of Basic White and stamped the flowers on it from the "Cutest Crew" bundle using Hydrangea Hue ink. Then I sponged the edges and tapped the sponge on the whole piece. I am SO loving that color. I think it's one I will get a lot of use out of and won't get tired of it. I taped this piece to the left side of the large layer.

On the right I cut a piece of Basic White card stock that measured 2-1/4" x 3-3/4". I stamped the little birdie feet on it using Crushed Curry ink. I think the original color is Golden Glow but I don't have that color yet. Crushed Curry was so close that I was able to get by with it.  Though it doesn't matter what color is used, who's going to know it's not an exact match? LOL. I had taken the feet out of the set a bit too early and I couldn't find them when it was time to use them. I did manage to get a space on my worktable cleaned off before I found the little feet.  I hate it when that happens and I never lean not to take out all of the images I need at one time. Once the feet were stamped I taped the piece in place on the right side of the large layer.

In the center of the card I taped a strip of Hydrangea Hue card stock that was leftover from trimming the large piece. I glued it in place since it was so slim. I didn't want it moving on me or whom ever receives the card.

The birds were stamped next using black Memento ink because I can't find my Basic Black hybrid pad. I'm sure it's under some more stuff on my worktable or perhaps I actually put it away and I just need to go look over where the ink pads are kept. But for now I used the Memento one. I colored my birds using the new "Hydrangea Hue" shimmer brush. The birds have a little sparkle to them. To get the darker color on them I just colored over the area again. Simple as that. The beaks and feet were colored in using Daffodil Delight and the grass was colored in using Soft Sea Foam. I cut them out using the matching die. Dimensionals were added to the back and they were set aside.

Using the "Stylish Shapes I used the second largest square on Basic White card stock. The layer behind it was cut at 2-1/2" x 2-1/2". If you don't have the die you can cut that Basic White piece at 2-1/4" x 2-1/4".

The words are from the "Wild Bunch" set. They were the perfect size for that space. I stamped them using the black Memento ink.

The birds were added next. Dimensionals were added to the back of the square piece and it was set in place on the center of the card and the card was done.

This was such a fun card to make. It was a pretty quick card to make if you didn't count the time I spent searching for the birdie feet!  LOL I can't wait to play with the birds again, maybe next time I'll take out one stamp at a time!  I think this card is great for adults and kids!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,

Wild Bunch, Scalloped Wishes, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fun friendship card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 2-1/8" x 5" piece of Calypso Coral card stock and textured it using the "Lazy Daisy" embossing folder. I glued it to the right side of the card base.

Then I cut 1-3/4" x 5" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Paper Medley" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the left side of the card base.

Next I stamped the snail from the "Wild Bunch" stamp set using Basic Black hybrid ink. I colored the body of the snail using light Crumb Cake Blends and then added a little highlights using the dark Crumb Cake Blends.

The body of the snail was colored using the light Petal Pink Blends and I covered the whole shell. Then I took my dark Calypso Coral Blends and colored the stripes on the shell. And on each side of the stripes I used the light Calypso Coral Blends to add a bit more color to it.

The words are from the "Scalloped Circles" bundle using the same Basic Black ink. I cut it out using the 2nd largest rectangle die from the "Stylish Shapes" set. I also cut a Petal Pink piece using the same size die. I taped the pieces together. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the center of the card.  And the card was done.

This was a super quick and easy card to make. Such a cute little snail in that set!

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,

Phrases & Frames, Garden Gatherings, Anniversary Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. My sister's anniversary is coming up in a week and I thought I'd get the card done now so I don't forget. It's a nice break from the masculine cards. But my masculine card stash is not very big so I will be making more at a later date but for now I have an anniversary card to share with you. I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest. You can see that card by clicking here. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White for the largest layer. On top of that is a 3-7/8' x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White card stock that I textured using my scoring tool. I flipped the piece of card stock over and did my scoring on the left side. I scored about 1-1/8" from the left edge and from the bottom edge. I scored at 1/8" intervals and made 5 score lines on the horizontal and the vertical.

Next I die cut the second smallest rectangle die in the "Stylish Shapes" set using Basic White card stock. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set aside. I also cut three flowers and three leaf clusters from the "Garden Gatherings" bundle using Basic White card stock.

Using a blending brush I lightly scrubbed on some Bubble Bath ink. Dimensionals were added to the back and they were set aside.

I laid the rectangle across where the grid lines meet so I could see where the wording would go. The words are from the "Phrased & Frames" bundle and were stamped using Smoky Slate ink. I had set the piece up in my MISTI and got the words lined up. I stamp on a piece of grind paper to make sure I have them straight and when I'm satisfied I stamp on the card piece. I set the card piece in the upper part of the MISTI instead of the lower part and that's where my words ended up. They were supposed to be far over to the left. I think they look fine where they are. I did have a little issue with the words or maybe the ink. But I think it was the words. When I get a new stamp I will rub my thumb across it to remove any oils from the manufacturing of it and I forgot so I'm pretty sure the ink kind of beaded up on the stamp and didn't stamp clear. Live and learn. I've been doing a lot of learning lately! LOL

After the words were stamped I taped that piece to the 4" x 5-1/4" piece of card stock. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the card base.

The flowers were gently set in place on the rectangle and the stems on the leaves were trimmed almost completely off and I glued them in place by tucking them under the flowers. I pressed down on the flowers to secure them.

The rectangle was set in place on the front of the card about 7/8" up from the bottom edge and 3/4" from the right edge.

I have a ton of pearls in my stash so I thought I'd use them on this card. Once the pears were added the card was done.

This was a fun, quick and easy card to make. I love the minimal look, clean and simple. I'm sure my sister will like it.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's anniversary card,

Waterside Resort, Scalloped Blooms, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. It's been a week of masculine cards and after today's post I'm ready to move on to something else. I have lots of cards I want to make and lots of masculine cards I want to make but I need a break from them! Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Night of Navy card stock. On top of that is the woodgrain looking piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Waterside Retreat" 12" x 12" package.  I taped it to the Night of Navy piece and then that as taped to the card base.

I cut the wavy strip from the same package of DSP. It measured 1-1/2" x 4-7/8" and the Night of Navy layer behind it was cut at 1-5/8" x 5". I taped the two pieces together and then taped that to the front of the card about 1/4" from the fold, top and bottom.

The shell piece, from the same package was cut and sitting in the bottom of the package of DSP so I thought I'd use it on this card and make it work. So far, what was in my head is not working but I still went forward with the card! This piece measured 2" x 3" and I cut the Night of Navy layer at 2-1/8" x 3-1/8".  I taped the two pieces together. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card about 1" from the top edge and 3/8" from the right edge.

I stamped the words next using the "Scalloped Blooms" bundle. They were stamped on Basic White card stock using Night of Navy ink. I cut them out with a die in that bundle. Then I cut two pieces from that same die using Night of Navy card stock. I layered one piece behind the word piece and I snipped off one of the scallops to tape to the other side. Hindsight here, I should have switched the way the scalloped layer was added because I could have hidden the left bottom edge under the fish tail and it wouldn't be so noticeable that there are tow pieces of card stock there.  Anyway, I taped this piece in place, tucking it under the shell piece just enough to hide the edge.

I had some vests and fish already cut out so I thought I'd add them to the card. The vests were set in place with both tape and Dimensionals and all Dimensionals on the back of the fish.  And that was it, the card was done. Not one of my better pieces of work and nothing like what was in my head!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's masculine birthday card,

Waterside Retreat, Banner Sayings, Masculine Birthday Card, Father's Day Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I have been spending most of the week posting masculine cards and they have been coming from a video that Terri Gaines created using the full sheet of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Waterside Retreat" 12" x 12" package. This sheet has 12 (maybe 13) images on it. I'm not sure of the exact number because I no longer have full sheet to count them accurately. I could look in the catalog but I don't think I'll be able to see a line defined enough to give an accurate account. But for now I'm going with 12, which is a lot for one sheet!  You can see Terri's video by clicking here. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 1-1/2" x 5-1/2" strip of Mossy Meadow card stock for the strip. And a 1-1/4" x 5-1/2" of the fish DSP was cut to go on top of the Mossy Meadow strip. I taped the two pieces together and then taped that to the front of the card about 1/4" from the fold.

Using the same fish DSP and using the 2nd smallest die in the (retiring) "Branching Out" die set, I cut the a piece out. I also cut the green tag from the sheet of DSP. It was cut allowing the dark boarder to be left around the sides and bottom. The top was torn and then rolled/curled forward.  It was then taped to the fish piece.

Mossy Meadow card stock was used to cut the back layer and the 3rd smallest die from the "Branching Out" set was used. I taped the fish layer to this layer. Dimenisonals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card. It's about7/8" from the top and bottom edge of the card base and 5/8" from the right edge.

Another piece of DSP was used for the word piece. It's on the backside of the lifejackets sheet. The "Three Banner" punch was used to punch the piece out. Lining up the lines of the DSP in the punch to get that fun border look for the words to fit in between.  I actually punched the piece out first and then stamped the words. Normally I do it the other way. The words are from the "Banner Sayings" set and Basic Black hybrid ink was used to stamp them. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place over the bottom green area of the fish layered piece.

I love the clean and simple look of this card. It's a perfect masculine card! I think it would be a nice Father's Day card too!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's masculine birthday card,

Waterside Retreat, Fabulous Sayings, Masculine Birthday Card, Father's Day Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I am continuing on with the masculine theme and Terri Gaines' fun video of how to use all the images on one of the beautiful sheets of Designer Series Paper (DSP) in the "Waterside Retreat" 12" x 12" package. You can see that video by clicking here. I was thrilled that she made it because I struggled with some of the images on that sheet and now they won't just sit in the bottom of the bag! Terri is a fabulous stamper and demonstrator. She's got a lot of fun ideas and ways to use products that you might not think of. Check out her videos, you won't regret it. So, onto the card I made today from her video.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Early Espresso card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.  I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Very Vanilla and taped it to the inside.

On the front a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Pecan Pie card stock was cut and textured with the "Forever Plaid" embossing folder. I glued that to the front of the card base. I set the card under my stamping mat to keep it flat while the glue set up. I'm not sure if I really need to do that but it's such a habit that I continue to do it. Plus I know where the card is and it's not getting dirty/inky!

Next the layers were cut out using the (retiring) dies from the "Branching Out" set. I used the 3 smallest ones. With the smallest one I cut a piece of Very Vanilla and I also cut the fish image at the top and sides. The other two dies were used to cut the Early Espresso pieces.

I taped the fish image to the cut Very Vanilla image and then stamped the words from the "Fabulous Sayings" set using Early Espresso ink. I wrapped some linen thread around the piece and taped the ends on the backside. Dimensionals were added to the piece and it was set in place on the next larger Early Espresso piece. Then Dimensionals were added to the back of that piece and it was set in place on the largest Early Espresso die cut piece. Glue was added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card.

I thought I'd take my blending brush and lightly scrub on some Early Espresso ink over the embossed piece. I went around the die cut pieces. It kind of gives it a lighter glow behind it. Kind of! LOL

This was a fun card to make and once again I was able to use a piece of the DSP that I really thought would just sit in the bottom of bag of DSP. This was such a quick and easy card to make too! I think it would also make a great Father's Day card.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's masculine birthday card,

Waterside Retreat, Masculine Birthday Card, Father's Day Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have another masculine birthday card to share with you. I followed Terri Gaines video to use another piece from the "Waterside Resort" 12" x 12" package of Designer Series Paper (DPS).  You can see her video by clicking here. Please read on to see how I put today's card together.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock, it opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock for the large layer. I used my blending brush and lightly scrubbed on some Azure Afternoon ink. I also lightly added some Balmy Blue to that piece too. I mostly tapped my brush on the piece to give it that splotchy look. Then I lightly colored over the whole piece to add some more color and it also removed most of the ink from my blending brush (bonus!).  I taped this piece to the front of the card base.

The edges of the image from the piece of DSP was cut using the 3rd largest die in the "Branching Out" die set. I also cut a piece of the DSP with the waves on it using that same die. And using the 2nd largest die I cut one out of Basic White card stock and lightly colored the edges with Azure Afternoon ink.

I taped the small DSP piece to the center of the wavy piece of DSP. I also cut two 1/8" x 2-3/4" strips and I taped them to where the center piece of DPS meets the waves on the top and bottom.

The fish were fussy cut and set in place on the piece using Dimensionals.

The words were done on my computer. I had a few of them sitting around from another project and I thought I should use it since it not only fit on the space but I didn't want it to get ruined sitting on my worktable. I set them in place using Dimensionals.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the large die cut layers and it was set in place on the center of the card.

I added some Wink of Stella to the fish to give them a bit of a shine and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and I was SO glad I was able to use that small piece of DSP from the large sheet of fun images.  I am on a mission to make sure I use every one of them on that sheet (thanks to Terri, I'm sure I will!).

This would also make a wonderful Father's Day card too!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's masculine birthday card,

Waterside Retreat, Masculine Birthday Card, Father's Day Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a masculine birthday card to share with you. I had my "Waterside Retreat" Designer Series Paper (DSP) still sitting out. Shocker, I know! LOL I rarely put anything away right after I'm done with it! I'm thinking about designating this week to "masculine card" week.  We'll see how that goes!  Please read on to see how this card was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock for the largest layer.  On top of that is a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of DSP. I thought this print was perfect for my card. The other side of the paper is a lot of gulls flying. I didn't think I'd get as much use out of that side as I would this one.  This one just screams "manly". I taped the two pieces together and it was taped to the card base.

Then I cut the strips. The Mossy Meadow piece was cut at 5-1/4" x 1-1/4" and the Basic White strip was cut at 5-1/8" x 4-1/8".

Before stamping the words on the strip I fussy cut the vest, oar and bobber (I think it's a bobber, I don't fish so I'm guessing here!). Dimensionals were added behind the vest and bobber.

I laid the bobber and vest over the strip to see how much space I had for the words. I stamped the words from the "Fabulous Sayings" set. I'm not big on sets where you have to put the words together but I buy them anyway!  I have enough trouble trying to get one word straight but now there's two!  But I did manage to do it and I think it's pretty straight. I used Mossy Meadow ink to stamp them. Hindsight here, I should have moved the words over to the left a bit more but they are centered to it still looks okay.

Once the words were stamped I taped the strips together and then taped them to the front of the card. They are about 1-1/4" from the bottom edge of the card base.

The oar was taped in place and then the vest was added on top of the oar handle and the bobber was set in place on the left side of the strip.

I had a linen bow already made so I thought I'd use it. I was trying to make a sailors knot but it kept looking like a noose so I opted not to add it. The looped linen threads (bow) had to do. I glued it in place.

I took some glass embellishments I had and glued them in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

I think this could easily be made into a Father's Day card too!

This was actually a fun card to make and it taught me to really look at word placement before stamping! It's fun when you learn lessons to help make your next card better. I have a LOT of learning to do! LOL

Waterside Retreat, Banner Sayings, Masculine Birthday Card, Father's Day Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a masculine birthday card to share with you. Terri Gaines has a YouTube video that shows all of the fun cards you can make from that one sheet of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Waterside Retreat" 12" x 12" package.  I was SO glad to have run across that video because there were a few images on that sheet that I had no idea what to do with. Terri is SO creative. You can see that video by clicking here. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.  I lightly sponged on some Cajun Craze ink along all four edges.

Next I die cut the pieces using the (retiring) "Branching Out" die set. I used the 2nd and 3rd largest dies on Basic White card stock. On the largest one I scrubbed on some Cajun Craze ink with my blending brush. And on the smaller one I textured it using the "Forever Plaid" embossing folder and then I scrubbed on some Cajun Craze ink all over the whole piece.

The fisherman image is one of those I thought would forever be sitting at the bottom of the bag of DSP but Terri helped me rescue that piece. I set it in the 3rd die and cut the edges. I glued it to the front of the card it's not quite centered, it's about1-1/16" from the top edge of the die cut layer.

Next came some fussy cutting. I cut the oars, floatation device and life jacket. I glued the floatation device in place first. Then I wound some linen thread around my fingers and glued it in place on the left side. The oars were added over the top of it using Dimensionals. Dimensionals were also used to set the life jacket in place.

The words are from the "Banner Sayings" set. They were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using Basic Black hybrid ink and punched out using the "Three Banner" punch. Dimensionals were added to the back of the piece and it was set in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make. I love the colors and I'm thrilled I was able to use that image!  It's a great masculine birthday card and would work for Father's Day too!

Fern & Flora, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card by clicking here.  There were no instructions so I had to wing it. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Soft Sea Foam card stock for the largest layer.

I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using "Fern & Flora" embossing folder. I glued it to the Soft Sea Foam piece and then that was taped to the card base. I set it under my stamping mat to set up and lay flat.

Next I cut the greenery. I used Garden Green on the left leafy piece. Old Olive for the large fern and Mossy Meadow for the the curly piece.

I put a piece of tape down on the front of the card and set the greenery in place.

I tied a linen bow and glued it in place.

The words were sitting on my worktable and I thought I'd use them. I had printed it out on my computer. I had punched them out and put Dimensionals on the back and set it on a piece of the scrap stuff that's from the Dimensionals.  It's been sitting on my worktable for a while now. It was time to use it or have it ruined.  I set in place on the front of the card, over the linen bow.

I colored a few rhinestones using the dark Old Olive Blends pen and set them in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a quick, easy and fun card to make. I love how clean and simple looking it is. I think it would make a great masculine birthday card!
