A Flower Patch Gift Pack of Greeting Cards

Don't you just LOVE the "Flower Patch" set? And you don't even need the dies that go along with it.  You can just stamp without them.  Though I do love the dies too but for this card that I found I didn't.  I do not know who the designer of this card is but if you do, please let me know so I can give them credit and a link back.  You can view the original cards here.

I was only going to make one card but when thought about it more, a pack of cards sounded like a great gift idea.  SO I decided to make 5 cards since I needed one for my stash!!

The card stock colors used here are Crisp Cantaloupe, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder and Whisper White.  The inks are all the same colors with the following added, Pear Pizzazz, Lost Lagoon, Crushed Curry, and Tangerine Tango.  The words were done using the black Memento ink. My new favorite black ink.  I still like StazOn but this stuff washes off better.
First you stamp the large flower, then the center, then the stem, and finally the words.  These went so fast and now I'm wishing I would have made several sets because they went together so quickly.  The word set I used for the top image is from the "Wetlands" set.  The words on the bottom set are from my favorite "Sincere Salutations" set.  It's got all  the words you need for the front of your cards and they are the perfect size.  I made a birthday, thinking of you, thank you, and a get well card.

Oh and in the center of each flower is a rhinestone.  I just love these cards and they were SUPER easy and quick to make too!  Now I'm going to box mine up in a clear box, wrap a ribbon around them and toss them in my box of stuff I'm selling at the fall craft fair!!!

A Flower Patch Get Well

Today I was in need of a Get Well card.  SO while surfing the net I ran across a fun "Flower Patch" card that I worked into a get well card.  You can see the original card here.  I liked the original card but I lacked all the supplies.  So I ran with what I had and I do like how it turned out.

The base of my card is a folded half sheet of Crisp Cantaloupe.  Then I added a layer of Whisper White and on top of that is a piece of decorative paper from the "All Abloom" paper pack. I LOVE those packs.  You get quite a variety of papers for a great price!

Next I stamped my flowers using the "Flower Patch" set.  Then I cut them out using the "Flower Fair" dies.  I don't have the magnetic piece for my Big Shot so I just put a post it across the die and stamped image and it held it in place just fine, no shifting at all.

I cut a scrap piece of Whisper White for the word panel and I added a scrap piece of decorative paper from the same "All Abloom" pack.  I assembled my card and then realized that I forgot to add the words.  I couldn't add them now, my word panel is sitting on the card with Dimensionals under it!  UGH!  So I got out my trusty "Modern Label" punch and the "Word Window" punch along with the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set and I was able to fix my error.  I really just wanted the words stamped on the word panel part but this is what I ended up with. I like it but it wasn't what I wanted.

It was a fun card to make and it went together rather quickly.  I do like the dies but I'd much rather have a punch.  It's less time using a punch than the dies.

A Petite Petals Thinking of You Card

I found today's card on Terri's board at her last Stamp a Stack.  I do not know who the original artist is of this card so if you do know, please let me know so I can give them credit and a link back to their blog.

I was not sure of the color green on the card so I used Pear Pizzazz.  The card stock and ink used here are as follows, Pear Pizzazz, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Whisper White.

I used an embossing folder for the background.

I have to day, this was a super simple and extremely quick card to make.

I stamped the flowers on matching card stock and used the punch to punch them out.  The leave were just a flower stamped using matching ink and card stock and punched out.  Once they were punched out I cut them into pieces to use as petals.  SO simple and SO quick!

This card and layout would be great for other occasions such as Birthdays, Get Well, Mother's Day, and maybe even a sympathy card.

Thank you ever SO much for visiting today,

A Traveler and Open Sea Masculine Birthday Card

WOW, another original card.  Though I do like this one much better than yesterday's card.

This was a very simple and quick card to make too.

The base of my card is Basic Gray as well as the layer behind the ship image.

Then Cherry Cobbler was added and Whisper White on top of that.  I did texture!

The ship was stamped using black Memento ink.

The compass is from "The Open Sea" set.  I punched it out using the 1-1/4" circle punch and layered it using the 1-3/8" circle punch.  I punched that circle using Cherry Cobbler.  I set those circle layers in place using Dimensionals.

And there you have it.  A quick and simple masculine card.

A Vivid Vases and Work of Art Birthday

Today I thought I would play with the "Vivid Vases" stamp.  I think I may have made one card with it a while back.  I bought it and was going to wait until I got some Blendabilities.  I got the markers but I haven't used them on this set as planned.  Maybe this weekend!!!  The stamp set will probably be still sitting out on my worktable.  LOL

For this card I used the "Work of Art" set to color in the images.  I used the long strip one for the colors on the vases.  I did put some post it's on the bottom of the vases so the ink wouldn't get on the white part.  Then I used the round image for the flowers.  I'm not overly fond of this card. It was fun but the colors are not what I had in mind.

I saw a card using this set and they added rhinestones to the flowers.  What a great idea.  I was going to do that but forgot.  But after taking the photo I did add them.

I used Pool Party and Strawberry Slush card stock.  I used Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Strawberry Slush, Marina Mist, Pirouette Pink, and Pool Party ink.

The words were set in place using Dimensionals.  And that's it!

A Work of Art Birthday

I thought I would whip up a quick card today.  I have been busy with my clay and I actually took the day off from stamping and posting yesterday.  I will share with you what I've been working on.  A tray of clay just finished baking but it requires assembly so it will be a day or two before I get to that part.  I need to bake as much clay stuff as I can this week, plus the holiday too!

So for today's card:  it came from Terri's display board when I was at her latest Stamp a Stack.  I don't know who designed this card and it may be a little difficult to pin down that person because I did change it a bit too.  I loved the colors of this card and that is what I was drawn to. Then, of course, the Work of Art set was used. I LOVE using that set!!!  Anytime I find a fun card that I just can't take my eyes off, I HAVE to make it.  I really should try to design one of my own.  Imagine that?  LOL  I've been doing so many repeats of other people's cards (with a few minor changes) and now and then I come up with an original card.  I have been slacking on the originality lately!!  But there's just SO many cute cards out there that I just HAVE to copy.  I'm obsessed!!! LOL

The words on my card are from the retired "Bring on the Cake" set.  I just thought this looked like a birthday splatter type card and this cake image fit it well.  The original card had a heart on the blue spot and the words were "just for you".  I could have copied the whole card but I wanted to make a birthday card!  You can make yours any way you want!!

The base of my card is a half sheet of Whisper White.  The dotted layer is Marina Mist and the focal panel is Whisper White.  The inks used here are Marina Mist, Pink Pirouette, Strawberry Slush, and Pistachio Pudding.

This was a fun and easy card to make.  What a festive birthday card this is, huh?

A Summer Silhouettes Birthday

Oh my, what a botched up mess this was.  And of course I share it with you!!!  Always!  They can't all be winners now, can they?

I was surfing the net and found this pretty sponged edge card and thought how fun and perhaps easy it would be to make.  I will say that I did have fun, and the sponging was easy, it just didn't turn out the way the original card did.  I tell the gals who come to my home to stamp, when they don't like the card they made because it didn't look like the sample, "don't compare."  I don't take my own advise very easy!!!  I REALLY did like the sponging on the original card.

The original card can be found here and from what I could see it was made by Kate. Or it was pinned by Kate.  I'm not sure.  But it is there and it is very pretty!

I used a different kind of flowering stem for mine too.  I used the "Summer Silhouettes" set and the words are from the "Wetlands" set.

The colors I sponged on the Whisper White piece are Pearl Pizzazz and Pacific Point.  And I used those same colors on the flowering stems.  I used a scrap piece of Pacific Point card stock for the oval scalloped punch and the words were stamped using Pacific Point ink.

I misted the sponged colors before I stamped the flowers but that didn't do much either.  UGH!!!  I'm disappointed in this card.  It's one of those "Monet" cards.  It looks better from further away!!! LOL

A Gorgeous Grunge Birthday

When I was at Terri's Stamp a Stack last week I took some pictures of the card samples she had on display.  This one was changed a little bit, only because I couldn't stop!!! LOL

The original card has two sets of zig zag strips.  I just kept going until it had faded to almost nothing.  Plus the original card had a heart stamped on it and the words "Just for you."  I don't know who made the card and I don't have a link to it since it was from a display board.  But if it sounds familiar you can email me and I can take a look at it and see if it's the card in question and then I can give the artist credit and a link back to their blog.

Ok, onto this card.  I used Whisper White for the base of my card.  Then I used the in color markers, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Baked Brown Sugar.  I stamped the image from the "Gorgeous Grunge" set.  I moved it down until I just saw the last image and stamped again.  I repeated that two more times.  I did huff on it for the last two images. (I huffed on each one of the last two - just wanted to make it clear on that).

I used a scrap piece of Baked Brown Sugar card stock and the scalloped punch.  Then I took a scrap piece of Coastal Cabana and punched out a 1-3/8" circle.  And the words were done on the computer and I used the 1-1/4" punch.  I set the words layer in place using Dimensionals.

This was an extremely quick card to make and to assemble.

A Travel Work of Art Birthday Masculine Card

I saw this fun card at Terri's Stamp a Stack.  I wanted to make one so I took a photo of it.  I did change it up a little bit.  I added the Washi tape and the Modern Label  birthday greeting.

The base of this card is Basic Black.  The next layer is Basic Gray.  And the final layer before the focal piece is Basic Black again.

I stamped the Work of Art "swish" image using Basic Gray.  I stamped off once and then I stamped it three times on the Whisper White card stock.

Then I stamped the train using the Momento black ink and I was ready to assemble.

I do not know who the original designer of the focal part of the card is so I can give her credit, I had take the photo of this card off Terri's display board.  If you know who made the focal part, please let me know so I can give them credit and a link back to their blog if they have one.

Negative Space Technique

Last night I was helping Terri out with her Technique Tuesday group and I had participated in the swap!  I was just thrilled because it had been a long time since I was able to find the time to make cards for the swap.

This is one of the cards I had received in the swap.  Isn't it gorgeous?  I LOVE it!!  It was made by Mary.

It's the first card I've seen in person using the sequins.  I LOVE the Washi tape too.

It's such an elegant looking card. The colors are so warm and inviting, aren't they!! Kudos to Mary on her fabulous card!!

I'm going to make this short, I'm not feeling well tonight and I'm going to go lay down.

Have a fun day and thank you for stopping by,
Wanda

Sea Street and Gorgeous Grunge Masculine Card

Yup, yet another masculine card.  It just seems that there are not enough of them out there.  This one is very colorful and festive looking too.  I never seem to have enough masculine cards.  But at Terri's Stamp a Stack last week I made several!  So I think I'm good for the rest of the year!

This card was very fun and quick to make.  We used Night of Navy card stock for the base of the card.  Whisper White was used for the Angled Tag Topper piece and Real Red was used for the stars.  I did order that star punch!  I don't have the Sea Street set or the wonderful Maritime Designer Series Paper.  But I'm sure down the road I can find something else to work if I want to remake this card.

I especially love the layout.  It's got a very clean and simple look to it.

The background was stamped using Night of Navy ink and the anchor stamp.  It's a very simple and super quick card to make.  Ok, it was super quick because Terri cut all of the card stock for us!!!  But even if you have to cut it yourself, it wouldn't take that long.

Tonight I'm off to help Terri with your Technique Night group and I will be participating in the swap.  I actually had time to make some cards!!!  It helped that we had a month off too!!! LOL  It sounds like I'm a month behind on things.  Please let me reassure you, it is WAY beyond a month!!! LOL

A World of Dreams Birthday

I mentioned the other day that I had made my card at the Stamp a Stack a little different.  I had moved the image up higher, leaving room for words under it.

I used the Gorgeous Grunge splatter image on the background, using Baked Brown Sugar ink.  The image inside the oval is from the "World of Dreams" set.  One that is on order!!!  I just HAD to! The word are from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set.

The information on the colors can be found here.  I'm keeping this post short and sweet!!! I know, very unusual for me!  LOL

A Positively Chevron Birthday

I made this fun card at Terri's Stamp a Stack last Thursday.  It's another card I liked and don't have the stamp sets to make more.  But that's ok.  I can always use background paper in place of the "Positively Chevron" background stamp.  And I can always substitute any other wording.  I have the paper doilies and the little flower stamp is on it's way.  I ordered it because I wanted the tiny little (adorable) star stamp that is in the set.  There's 3 punches in the Itty Bitty Accents punch set and I'm thinking the third one is a heart.  I was only interested in the star and the flower.  I'd make an excellent eye witness, wouldn't I?  I pay such great attention to details!!!! LOL

This was a super fun card to make.  Do you notice how straight I got the background image on my card?  What to know how to do that yourself?  Of course you do, and I will tell you.  First you ink up your stamp and leave it face up with Crumb Cake ink.  Then you take a little bit of tape runner (about a half inch in length) and place it on the center of the back of your piece of Crumb Cake card stock.  Pick up the card stock with your finger and hover over the image and slowly lower the card stock in place.  Press down on the card stock using a piece of scrap paper over it, and rub all over the paper to get the ink on the card stock.  Remove the scrap paper, your card stock should come with it.  Remove it from the paper and viola, your image should be on your card stock exactly where you want it.

Once the background was stamped the doily went on. Then we stamped the white strip and punched the edge.  The ribbon was added.  I love how the ribbon was just slid into the slot and tied with a piece of Baker's Twine.

Next the flowers were added using tiny glue dots and pearls were set in the center of each one.  Oh, I forgot to tell you to add the background piece to the card base before you start adding all of the other stuff.

Beautiful Bunch and Gifts of Kindness

I made this pretty card at Terri's fun Stamp a Stack last Thursday.   I don't have this stamp set but I did put it on my wish list.  Then I removed it from my wishlist because I looked through my stamps and found out I did have it.  Now why have I not used it???  I am not sure. Perhaps it's because I own too many stamp sets!!!

Anyway, at the Stamp a Stack we stamped the flower using the black Memento ink pad.  Then we punched out the flower.  Yes, punched it out.  NO cutting.  So it puzzles me even more why I have not used the stamp set.  Then I thought it was because I didn't have the punch.  Oh yes, the punch is on the shelf, still in it's wrapper.  What's wrong with me?  That is a rhetorical question, it requires no answer please!!!  LOL  We don't have time to answer that anyway!!! LOL

The colors used here are Basic Black, Real Red, and Very Vanilla card stock.  The designer paper is from the "Flashback set.

It's a very easy and fun card to do.  We made three of them.  I did mine all the same.

World of Dreams Masculine Card

Here is a card I made at Terri's FABULOUS Stamp-a-Stack last night.  It was such a fun time. I just LOVE this card and my sister was putting in an order, so I just HAD to order it.  UGH!  I have so many stamp sets that I don't use now!  Sound familiar???  LOL  I do have a lot of retired ones that I will be posting on here soon to sell.  I need to clean house.  I've just got too many things going on to get into the taking the photo, posting it, figuring out the postage, etc.  There's a lot that goes into selling a stamp set online.  Anyway, lets get back to this fun card.

This card is very versatile.  It could be a wonderful masculine birthday card, a thinking of you card and even a sympathy card.  I LOVE those leaf branches in the background.

To make this card we used the "World of Dreams" set.  The card stock was Pool Party, Baked Brown Sugar, and Very Vanilla.  The ink was Baked Brown Sugar.  Oval Framelits were used to do the ovals.  Lucky us, they were done for us!!!  Ya gotta LOVE that!  And the 1/8" hand held punch was used to make the holes for the thick Baked Brown Sugar Twine.

The two ovals were taped together and set in place using Dimensionals.  What a fun card this was.  We got to make 3. I made a different variation of this card and I will show that to you another day.

Work of Art Meets Gorgeous Grunge Masculine Birthday Card

Today's card is a combination of a card I found by Mary at Stamper Camper.  I made several changes to it.  Not that I didn't like Mary's card but I needed a birthday card and the words in the "Work of Art" set do not read "happy birthday".  I used the "Wetlands" set for the words.  I also didn't have the Washi tape she used so I used the "Gorgeous Grunge" set to add the angled lines.

I used Soft Sky ink but ended up with Pool Party card stock.  Don't ask!!!  LOL

I also used the round image from the "Gorgeous Grunge" set to make dots in the background.  This card is for a guy and I didn't think rhinestones were a good choice for me.  And there's also a plus to this. This card will now not cost extra to mail due to the lack of rhinestones.

This was a very fun card to make and very easy too.  The ink colors here are Soft Sky, Smoky Slate, Basic Gray, and Sahara Sand.  Now personally I never would have thought to put these colors together but they sure do work, don't they?

My card stock is Pool Party, Sahara Sand, Basic Gray and Whisper White.

I had used the Basic Gray ink on the words, and the Basic Gray card stock for the layer.  I used the Smoky Slate ink for the angled stripes.  The Basic Gray was just too dark.

It's a great masculine card!

Wetlands and Mixed Bunch Gift Card Holder Weekend Project

I found a fun gift card holder to make.  You can find the instructions made by Jackie here.

I used Whisper White card stock for the base of the gift card holder.  I used Melon Mambo for the inside color.

After making it I decorated it with the "All Abloom" Designer Series paper from the new stack.

I wrapped a little Melon Mambo 1/4" cotton ribbon around the bottom of the holder.

I used the words from the "Wetlands" set and punched out the oval and layered it with the scalloped oval punch, using Melon Mambo card stock.  I set the word piece in using Dimensionals.
I used the "Mixed Bouquet" set for the flower.  I stamped it using Melon Mambo ink.  The center was stamped using Daffodil Delight and punched out using the 3/4" circle punch.  I set it in place using Dimensionals.

One of the fun things with this card was that I got to use the Envelope Punch Board to make this.

This was a very fun project to do and it didn't take much time at all.  Plus it's very colorful.

A Mosaic Madness Gorgeous Grunge Birthday

I had such a busy day today.  I babysia my granddaughter today.  She's 14 months and she wears me out!!!  So to run across this fun quick card made my day.  I was able to recreate it in under 15 minutes.  Now that doesn't include putting away my supplies.  I rarely do that anyway!!!  That is why you will see one or two more posts using the same stamp set.  It just "happened" to be sitting there!!!  LOL

Today's card comes to you from Monica's "My Stamping Passion."  I think it was the colors of this card that attracted my attention first.  They were so bright and cheery.  Who wouldn't like a birthday card that looks like this???  Oh and by the way,  it's the angle of the camera that makes the word part look crooked.  I measured it and it's only a hair off.  In this photo it looks like it's 1/4" off.

The fun colors here are Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana, and Tangelo Twist.  What a great combo, huh?

Oh, and another thing I like about this card.  I got to use the "Gorgeous Grunge" set again too!!!

I did change it a little.  I added a pearl to the bottom mosaic piece and a rhinestone to the center one.  The original card has a rhinestone on the bottom piece.  I also changed the wording.  I added the Modern Label punched piece with the birthday greetings from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set.  A very fun card, isn't it?

A Mosaic Madness Birthday

I have not touched this stamp set in a long time.  I do still like it but it has a Christmas feel to it to me.  I found this card made by Jennifer at Ladybug Designs.  I thought it looked like a fun card to make using the "Mosaic Madness" set.  When I first saw it I liked it immediately, mostly because of the elegant black and white look.  Then as I looked at the other elements of the card it grew on me even more, if that was even possible.

It's a simple enough card to make too.  And as usual, mine is not exactly like the original one.  My first change was the base of the card.  I could not get my card stock in the Big Shot with the embossing folder so what I ended up doing was making the base of my card Basic Black and then embossing a 1/4 sheet of card stock.

I also changed the wording and the layout of the wording too.  I used the Modern Label Punch and the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set.

I didn't have any measurements but I used the 1-3/8" circle punch.  That white strip is cut 2" x 5-3/8".  I punched out a circle using scrap copier paper.  I set the circle on the center of the strip and drew around it with a pencil so I would know where the circles should go.  I suppose you could punch out 3 circles and tape them in place and punch over then.  Then you wouldn't have to trace.  Why do I come up with these easier shortcuts after I've done the card???  LOL  Oh well, at least I can share them with you and you can save yourself a few minutes and a bit of stress trying to get things lined up evenly!!!

It's difficult to see in the picture but each punched out image has a rhinestone in the center of it.

It was a fun and easy card to make!!

A Flower Patch Birthday

I found a fun card made by Jen at Ladybug Designs.  I did change a few things.  She used the larger circle/dot background embossing folder.  I don't have that one yet so I used the old one.  It didn't take away from the fun of this card!

I didn't have the dies for the "Flower Patch" set so I had to do the fussy cutting.  At least it was only 3 flowers and I was only making one card.  This would be a SUPER quick card if you have the dies.  You could crank out a lot in a short period of time.  Once the flowers were all cut out I layered them and then set them in place using Dimensionals.

It was an easy enough card to make.  I did change the wording too.  I used the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set and the Modern Label punch for the wording.  The words were also set in place using Dimensionals.

I think it turned out just fine!  It's not an exact copy but I used what I had and I liked the end results.  Isn't that what is the most important??

Teeny Tiny Wishes Quilt Technique Card

I saw this card on Pinterest and I thought it would be fun to try my hand at the faux quilting!!!  The original card was made by Carol at "My Little Inspirations."  I'm sorry that the card image takes you to her blog and not directly to the post.  So I will have to tell you how I made the card. You could scroll through her posts until you find the card but I'm not sure if she included instructions.  I didn't search very long there.

So to make this card I used the 1" square punch. I punched out 4 of each colors.  My decorative paper came from the new "All Abloom" paper pack.

Once I got the pieces punched out I cut them in half from point to point.  Then I took a piece of Whisper White card stock and added tape to it so I could assemble the pieces on it.  I just started setting the pieces in place and when I was done I had a pretty star quilted pattern piece.  Then I took a piece of the Lost Lagoon decorative paper and punched a flower out.  I set that flower in place using Dimensionals.  Then I added a 1/2" circle to the center.  I used a piece of scrap from the decorative paper that I used for the squares.  I taped that in place in the center of the flower.

Then I used the Modern Label punch and punched a piece of Lost Lagoon card stock.  I stamped the "happy birthday" using the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set.  This piece was set in place using Dimensionals.

The background was embossed using the "Modern Mosaic" folder.  It had that "quilted" look to it.

And that is all there is to this card.  I glued the quilted piece on the Modern Mosaic piece and I glued that piece on to a folded half sheet of Lost Lagoon card stock.  Yup, I did say I glued it.  I find that the tape doesn't stick as well to the textured paper so I've been gluing mine and I've had no problems.

A Traveler Masculine Birthday Card

I found this fun card at "Try Stampin' on Tuesday."  I do know that it is Thursday but I thought I would break protocol and try it today!!! LOL  I'm daring like that.  I have been known to remove those so not remove tags from my mattress too!!!  I know..... living on the edge!!! LOL

Today's card was very fun and easy to make.  I did struggle a bit with the panels.  I didn't have a pattern to go by so I just cut the piece of decorative paper 3/8" less than I needed so I could set them in place and have plenty of room for the space in between. I did have to retrim, it's better to cut it too long than too short!  My top panels measure 1-3/4" x 3-1/4".  And the bottom panel measures 1-1/2" x 3-5/8".  There, you have the measurements, so it should be easier for you to whip up a bunch of these cards!!!

The image here is from the "Traveler" set.  I still have one more fun train card I want to make.  I need to find a layout I like so I can make the card.  I've been sitting on this fun saying for a long time and I can't wait to print it out on the computer and use it on the card!!!  Maybe I'll work on that later in the week!  I am also working on a fun 3D project to share with you too.  So much going on here!  I need to focus on just one hobby.  Maybe in the next lifetime!!!  LOL

I should tell you my colors here as well.  I used Chocolate Chip card stock, ink, and decorative paper.  I also used Whisper White card stock.  The words were done on my computer.  I feel that Stampin' Up! needs to have more words that fit in these punches!!  But doing them on the computer is the next best thing, right?

This was a fun card and I can see myself making more of them!  Oh and bonus here, it's a perfect masculine card, isn't it?

Petite Petals

I had found a fun card on Pinterest (that I forgot to save so I could link).  It had three layers of decorative paper at the bottom.  I used Washi tape.  It had a square frame, I turned mine on end.  It had flowers on the frame and it had a butterfly.  The original card was more elegant looking than mine.  I am so sorry I didn't save the link.  If you know of this card, please let me know who made it so I can link it.  I do know it was not made using Stampin' Up! products.

I changed the background dots too.  Oh and did you see my butterfly?  I used Washi tape on card stock and then I punched it out.  I just tried to make this card as simple as possible.

Adding the pearls to the flowers and to the corner of the frame gave it a more finished look.

The base of my card is a half sheet of Crisp Cantaloupe.  I think that about covers it!

A Bloom with Hope Birthday

Here's a bright and fun birthday card I made using the "Bloom with Hope" stamp set.  I also sued the "Papillon Potpourri" butterfly set, and the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set for the words.

The base of the card is Rich Razzleberry.  I colored in the butterflies using Rich Razzleberry ink and I sponged it on.  Tne butterflies were stamped, punched out, and then sponged.

I stamped the branch and colored it in using the Blendabilities markers.

This is a pretty simple card to make.  It went together quickly and I think that if I were to make another one I would cut the white card stock smaller, use the Rich Razzleberry for a border and set it on a folded half sheet of Whisper White card stock.  I just think there's too much white showing.  But all in all I still like the simplicity of the card.

Another Thank You Chevron Technique

Back in January I had posted a fun "Chevron" technique.  It was simple enough to do and also fun. You can see that technique here.  I found yet another version of the "Chevron" technique.  This one is just as simple but a whole lot quicker.

For this version you just punch out squares.  The smaller the squares the more you will need to fit across your card (only makes sense, huh?  LOL).  I used the 1-3/4" square punch because I didn't want to be making a ton of squares.  Plus I didn't have a lot of time to be working on this.

After the squares were punched out I cut them in half.  Then you tape or glue them in a line.  You can achieve this a couple of ways.  You can use the edge of the paper as your guide, which is what I did here. I lined up the tips of the pieces to the edge of the card stock, making sure I got the pieces as straight as possible.  You can also take a pencil and draw a straight line and line up the flat long side of each piece there.  That way would be better since you have a straight line that the long part of your piece would be set up against.  Eyeing the top flat part while lining up the tip of the piece was a bit more difficult.  Why didn't I think of the pencil part the first time around?   Oh well, it's done and it is straight!!!

I do like this technique better than the first one. Mostly because it's quicker.  And now knowing about that pencil line guide I think I will be making more!!!

A Travel Masculine Birthday Card

Grab your favorite newspaper background paper and the "Travel" stamp set and make a fun masculine card.

I don't have any current newspaper decorative paper but I did have something that I had copied off the internet a long time ago that I print out when I need something that looks like a newspaper.  I printed it out on 30# copier paper so it had a nice crisp look to it plus it isn't flimsy or cheap looking.  I cut it 4" x 5-1/4" and taped it on to a folded half sheet of Basic Black card stock.

I stamped the train onto a piece of Whisper White card stock as well as the birthday greeting which was from the "Wetlands" set.

I added the ribbon at the bottom but I'm not overly fond of it.  I just thought the bottom could use something.

This was a very fun and quick card to make.  This would also be a great Father's Day card!!  I don't seem to make enough masculine cards.  I need to make a few each month so I can build up my stash!!!

A Summer Silhouettes Thank You

I thought I would try the stamping on the clear blocks technique. I'm not sure what the name of that technique is.  I stamped the block using Coastal Cabana ink and then I stamped the edges of the block using the Crumb Cake ink pad.  I stamped off onto some scrap copier paper and then I misted the block from about 12" away.  I stamped the block on a piece of Whisper White card stock and I trimmed the edges when it felt dried enough to handle.

Once the piece was dry I stamped the flower stem using Old Olive ink, and then I stamped the flowers image using Strawberry Slush. I stamped it once and then just kept stamping over the same spot.  It will never hit the same spot twice so you get that fun muted fuller look to the image.  I thought it was pretty. I was only going to stamp it once but I thought it would look to plain.

After stamping the flower I sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink.

The base of my card is a folded half sheet of Crumb Cake.  My layers are actually Soft Suede because the Crumb Cake card stock looked too washed out.

The "Thank you" is from the "Another Thank You" clear photopolymer stamp set.  I love the clear stamps, you can see exactly where you are going to stamp them.

I used the "Decorative Dots" embossing folder for the background.  And the final touch was the punched butterfly.

This was a very fun card to make and I was thrilled at how the clear block stamping turned out. Give it a try!
