Oh My Fright, Frightfully Fun, Halloween Card, Stampin' Up!

 Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a Halloween card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made. 

For starters I learned how to make four cards from a 6" x 6" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP).  You mark each side (I marked mine on the left edge) at 1". Make a mark, turn and mark and repeat for all 4 sides. Then cut from the top to the bottom. I used post it tape to put the two pieces back together so I could turn it to the next 1" mark and cut to the last 1" mark. I removed the tape and I had 4 cut pieces. They are all the same size and if you're using a design that has no orientation, you can make all 4 cards the same. You can also place the pieces on other areas of the card. I kept my pieces in the square they were cut so I could see which one I wanted for my card. As it turned out, I stacked them all together so I can make my 4 cards all the same. 

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock for the DSP to be attached to. I laid the DSP on the card stock and lightly drew a pencil line so I could see where the words would go.  Since there was lots of room for the words, I taped the left piece in place and then stamped the words. The words are from the "Oh My Fright" bundle. 

On the upper right piece I cut a 3" x 3-5/8" piece of DSP and I taped it to the Basic White piece. You can use an embossed piece here if you like. After taping the second piece of DSP, I cut the edges that were hanging over. I forgot to mention that the DSP is from the "Frightfully Fun" 12" x 12" package.  

The spiderweb was an afterthought and I carefully placed it near the line of the DSP and stamped it using Basic Black ink.

I die cut a tree from Basic Black card stock that had a double-sided sticky sheet affixed to it. I set it in place on the front of the card. I pressed down on the lower trunk area but not on the branches, yet.

I die cut three Basic White ghosts and set them in place behind the tree branches. I also cut a couple of bats using the scraps from making the tree and I placed them on the front of the card. I took my Cherry Cobbler Blends pen and colored in the bat's eyes on the lower bat.  

This was a very fun card to make and now to finish the other three!

Oh My Fright, Halloween Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a Halloween card to share with you. I wanted to make something that was bright and fun for little kids. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock for the top layer.

On that piece of Basic Black card stock I taped down nine circles. I used the three smallest circle dies in the "Stylish Shapes" set. I cut one of each from Pumpkin Pie, Gorgeous Grape and Granny Apple Green card stock.  Once they were taped down I trimmed the ones that were hanging over the edges.

The words are from the "Oh My Fright" bundle and were stamped using Versa Mark and then heat setting white enamel powder on top. 

I taped the Basic Black piece to the card base. 

I cut three Basic White ghosts from the same bundle. I painted them with Deco Art glow in the dark paint because I thought it would be fun. I had to use several layers because it wouldn't glow with just two coats. I added a third coat, a very thick coat and sat there watching paint dry. Thank goodness the dryer buzzed and saved me from watching! LOL When I was done folding the clothes they paint was dry. I glued the ghosts in place. 

I tied a bow from some retired black gingham ribbon and I set it in place using a glue dot. 

The three white dots are from the "Adhesive-Backed Bats, Ghosts & Dots" package and were randomly placed on the front of the card. And that was it, the card was done.

This was a very fun and easy card to make and I did test the ghosts to make sure they glowed!

A Stitched Season, Pretty Poinsettia, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a quick and easy Christmas card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Peaceful Pine card stock. Two 4" x 5-1/4" pieces of Basic White was cut, one was taped to the inside and the other was textured using the "Swirls of Magic" embossing folder. I glued that one to the front of the card.

From the 12" x 12" package of Designer Series Paper (DSP), "A Stitched Season", I cut a strip of the quilted looking images. They are almost 1-3/4" wide (11/16" to be exact once cut). I cut it 4" long. Then I cut a 2" x 4" piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock for the layer. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set aside (mostly because I don't know where it's going to be placed yet).

The words are from the "Pretty Poinsettia" bundle and were stamped using Peaceful Pine ink on Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the third largest die in the "Stylish Shapes" set. That circle measures 2-1/8", just in case you need to make a circle on your own or find one close in size. I used the retired "Layering Circles Framelits" die set for the Cherry Cobbler layer. That circle measures 2-3/8". I taped the Basic White circle to the Cherry Cobbler circle.

Now to put it on the front of the card to make it look good. A bit of thinking went on here before I decided how it will look. I took the strip and removed the backing from the Dimensionals and I set it in place on the front of the card about 1" from the bottom edge of the card. I didn't press down on the upper part.

Glue was added to the back of the circle and it was set in place about 5/8" from the top edge and 3/8" from the right edge. Then I pressed down on the strip to make sure it was now stuck in place.

I didn't have any of the button embellishments so I took my container of buttons out and found three that matched and took my Cherry Cobbler Blends pen to color them. I have a pen that the tip is mushed down and no longer colors nice when coloring on a card so I had to order a new one. I kept the old one for whatever would come up that I needed it. I thought I'd be saving it for ribbon. I don't often buy ribbons, but I do buy white ones so I can color them with Blends pens. Anyway, I let the buttons dry for about a minute and then I glued them in place on the center of the quilt looking pieces. And the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. If I were to make more to send in the mail, I think I'd use some red metallic foil card stock or just some Cherry Cobbler small circles.

A Stitched Season, Pretty Poinsettia, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I had a card I found on Pinterest that I left open on my computer so I could give it a try. You can see the original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Real Red card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 3" x 4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DPS) from the "A Stitched Season" 12" x 12" package. A 2-1/4" x 3" x 4" piece of Old Olive card stock was cut for the top part. I taped the two pieces to the front of the card.

A 1/4" x 4" piece of Real Red was taped to the top edge of the piece of DSP. 

Next I cut the arch from the Everyday Arches" set. I used the 5th arch in that set on a piece of Basic White card stock.

The bird, tree and quilt looking piece were all fussy cut from the same package of DSP and the leaves are actually petals from a die in the "Pretty Poinsettia" bundle.  I cut them apart to add them later.

I laid the fussy cut pieces in place where I thought they would be going so I could see where to stamp the words. The words are from the "Pretty Poinsettia" bundle and were stamped using Basic Black ink. Once stamped on the arched piece, I taped it to the front of the card. I centered it as much as I could by eyeing it as best as I could. I always say, if it looks centered to me, it's centered enough!

Using tape, I added the bird first. I just laid the tree on next but didn't tape it down so I could see where to tape the quilt looking piece down. Once the quilt piece was affixed in place, I put Dimensionals to the back of the tree and set it in place.

Tape was added to the ends of the leaves and they were set in place. under the bird and quilted looking piece.

I took a piece of white baker's twine and tied a bow. It was glued to the trunk of the tree.

I thought the top of the card could use something so I added some dots from the "Adhesive Bats, Ghosts & Dots" package.

Digging thought my stash of buttons, I found one that was a nice size to fit on the quilted looking piece. And the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and I really like the looks of it. It's too bad there's not a lot of those birds in the package or I'd be making more of them. I have a few other cards to make that uses that bird so I'm going to hold off on making more of this one.  The paper is temporarily out of stock too!  It's just too fun and pretty!

A Stitched Season, Pretty Poinsettia, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a Christmas card to share with you. I found it on Instagram. I thought it would be fun to make. You can see the original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how it was made. 

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Cherry Cobbler card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut two pieces of Basic White card stock that measured 4" x 5-1/4". I taped one to the inside and the other was taped to the front.

I cut another piece of Basic white that measured 3-3/4" x 5" for the next layer.  On top of that is a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "A Stitched Season" at 3-1/2" x 3". I cut the left from the 3" mark to the right side at the 2" mark. I taped that to the Basic White piece. 

Next I cut a 1/2" x 4-1/2" strip of Cherry Cobbler. I taped it to the front along the same angle as the DSP. I trimmed the ends with a scissors to follow the edges of the sides.

I used a circle die from the "Spot on Nature" on Cherry Cobbler card stock. 

The poinsettia petals were die cut from the "Pretty Poinsettia" bundle using Basic White card stock and put them together. I found that a bit difficult. I kept moving the petals around because I couldn't stop it from looking square. I did manage to get it more rounded. I put Dimensionals to the back and affixed it to the circle. 

Using three dots from the "Bats & Ghost" embellishments. I didn't have what was used on the original card but I thought these would work well, and they did the job! 

I stamped the words from the same "Pretty Poinsettia" bundle using Basic Black ink. I had recently inked up some of my stamp sets and they are a bit juicy so I ended up with too much ink on the stamp and it showed up on the top worth the most.

I taped the layers together and the card was finished.

I do like how the card turned out and I was thrilled that I got the poinsettia more rounded! I actually made another one so I could keep it as a sample.

Begonia Bell, Wedding Card, Anniversary Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I still had the "Begonia Belle" set sitting on my worktable. I know, you're SO surprised I hadn't put it away! LOL I never put things away until they are so much in my way that I have no room to work. I found this card on Pinterest and thought it would be fun to make. The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Granny Apple Green card stock for the largest layer.

A 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White card stock was cut for the focal piece. 

The flowers were stamped using Daffodil Delight for the base layer and Crushed Curry for the detailed layer. I also stamped the flower on a piece of copier paper because I needed a mask so I could stamp the leaves without them getting on top of the flowers.

The leaves were stamped using Granny Apple Green for both solid and detailed parts of it.

The words are from the same set and were stamped using Basic Black ink.

I taped the layers together and then for a final touch, I added some pearls to the front. And that was it.

This was a super quick and easy card to make. I have not made a card with no Dimensionals in a very long time. 

I thought this could be a great card for a wedding or an anniversary. 

When making my mask, I forgot that I usually trim about 1/16" off of the design. That way, when you stamp the next image over it, it lines up against the first image better. I forgot to do that so my flowers and leaves have a bit of a gap. I tried to move my mask a bit to help out but I'd rather trim the piece. Once I was done and the mask dried, I did trim it for future maskings.

Begonia Bell, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I thought I'd play with the "Begonia Belle" set. It was an online exclusive that I debated getting. My order qualified for it but I thought I had enough stamps.  And then the thoughts went to, it's only $5.00. Well, it's not very often you can get a nice stamp set for $5.00, so that's where we're at!  I had the set for a few weeks but hadn't played with it yet. Mostly because I have so many other sets to play with. I think I may have overdone it! But it's been fun and that's what it's all about, right? I found a layout using this set that I liked so I went with it but changed the colors and the Designer Series Paper (DSP).  You can see the original card by clicking here. The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

My DSP from the "Lovely & Beautiful" 12" x 12" package. There was a piece in the package already cut from the large sheet. My piece measures 4" x 1-1/2". I taped it to the upper part of the card front.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Stone & Vine" embossing folder. I tore about one inch from the upper part of that piece. I just let the paper rip where it wanted to. Sometimes it's hard to control the tear. Once torn I glued it to the front of the card. I made sure it lined up to the sides of the DSP so it didn't show. It shouldn't show if they were both cut the same size. I set it under my stamping mat to allow to set up and dry a bit while I worked on the other parts of the card.

I stamped the flower from the "Begonia Belle" set using Daffodil Delight ink on the 1st step. The second step for this image is the detailed one. I stamped that using Crushed Curry. I did the same for the flower buds.

The greenery was stamped using Old Olive ink.

Now the fun part. I fussy cut everything out. Once cut, I added Dimensionals to the larger begonia and lightly set it in place on the front of the card. I set it lightly so I could slip the large leaves under it. I added glue to the back of the larger leaves and slipped them under the large flower. Then I pressed down on the large flower to set it in it's place.

The little flowers and stem with leaves was glued on next.

The words are from the same set and were stamped using Old Olive ink on a scrap of Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the die from the "Stylish Shapes" set. Dimensionals were added to the parts that don't touch the flower. I did add a little bit of tape to the part that does touch the flower.

I had some "Blossom Pearl" (retired) embellishments in my stash and thought they'd work just fine with the card and the card was done.

This was fun and quick to make. I hadn't done a torn paper card in a long time. I forgot what a nice touch it has on a card.

I'm not sure if this is just a friendship card. I think it could be used for a birthday or any other occasion that brought someone happiness.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock for the largest layer. On top of that is a 3-7/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Frightfully Fun" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the Basic Black layer and then that was taped to the front of the card.

The ghost piece was cut from the same package of DPS. This image is actually the opposite side of the spiderweb paper. It's cut at 2-5/8" x 2-5/8". I taped it to a 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" piece of Basic Black card stock. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the left side of the card. The tips line up to the edges of the spiderweb DSP on all three sides.

The word are from the "Oh My Fright" set using Basic Black ink on Basic White card stock. I cut it out using a die from the "Spotlight on Nature" set. I used a retired circle die set and cut a Pumpkin Pie piece to fit behind the focal circle. I taped the circles together. Dimensionals were added to the right side and tape to the area where it will be touching the ghost piece and it was set in place on the front of the card. It's basically centered and the right side lines up with the spiderweb DSP. 

Using the fun elements from the "Adhesive-Baked Bats, Ghosts & Dots" package I added several of them to the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a super quick card to make. I was in need of a quick card today because we are preparing to paint our house! UGH! I'm sure tomorrow night when I sit at my worktable to make my daily card, I will be thrilled to be able to sit down inside and enjoy the smell of ink instead of paint! LOL

Fragrant Layers, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you that I found it on Pinterest. I researched the name and found the link. You can see the original card by clicking here. I thought it was such a pretty stained glass looking card that I just had to make one. Please read on to see how the card was made. 

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Highland Heather card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. 

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Highland Heather card stock was cut and then textured using the "Beautiful Pattern" embossing folder. I taped it to the front of the card base.

Next I die cut the Basic Black framed piece using the die in the "Fragrant Layers" bundle. A piece of doubles sided sticky sheet was added to the Basic Black card stock that I had cut at 2-5/8" x 3-5/8". I wanted to make this into a sticker so it would be easier to work with.

A piece of vellum was cut at just a hair less than 2-5/8" x 3-5/8" and attached to the back of the Basic Black frame. 

On the backside of the vellum image, I colored in the areas using Blends pens. I used dark Granny Apple Green for the leaves. For the small flowers I used light Highland Heather and for the large flowers I used dark Highland Heather.

The Basic White layer was cut at 3" x 4" and the Basic Black layer was attached to it. 

Using Lemon Lolly card stock and the small flower die, I cut three flowers for the centers of the three larger flowers on the framed piece. I set them in place using glue. 

The layered piece was taped to the front of the card about 3/8" from the top edge and 5/8" from the side edges.  

The words were done on my computer. I cut them out using the stitched ribbon die from the "Stylish Shapes" set and affixed them to the front of the card using Dimensionals. I had those word pieces all cut out and sitting on my worktable. I thought I should use them up before they get ruined. 

I took some black baker's twine and cut it at 14". I folded it in half and tied a bow.  The bow was glued to the bottom corner of the frame and the card was done.

I love the stained glass look and I was thrilled that I could make this card. It's SO pretty in real life!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fun, quick and easy Halloween card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. 

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Basic Black card stock for the largest layer. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DPS) from the "Frightfully Fun" 12" x 12" package. I taped that to the Basic Black piece and then that was taped to the front of the card. 

Next I cut the pieces for the long panel. The back layer is a piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock that measures 4-1/2" x 2-1/4". On top of that is a 4-3/8" x 2-1/8" piece of Basic Black card stock and on top of that is a 4-1/4" x 2" piece of DSP from the same package. I taped these layers together and added Dimensionals to the back. The panel was set in place on the left side of the card about 1/2" from the top and bottom edge and also from the fold. 

I cut two ghosts using the dies in the "Oh My Fright" bundle on a piece of vellum. I also cut the bats from the same bundle using Basic Black card stock. 

The words were stamped from the same bundle using Basic Black ink on a piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the 1-3/4" die from the "Stylish Shapes" set. I used a retired circle set and cut a Basic Black piece using the 1-7/8" circle die.  I taped the two circles together. Dimensionals were added to the right side and tape to the left. The circle layer was set in place about 1/4" from the right edge and 3/4" from the bottom edge. I didn't press down on the taped side.  I added a little bit of glue to the right side of the ghosts and slipped them under the circle a bit to hold them in place and to hide the glue.

I cut pieces of Dimensionals and added them to the back of the bat's wings and I set them in place on the panel.

I was going to call the card one but one of those little stinkin' cute bats from the adhesive-backed "Bats, Ghosts & Dots" package.  I don't know which I like better, the cute bats or the adorable ghosts!  I think it's a tie!

This was a fun, very quick and super easy card to make. It's one of my favorite layouts/sketches.

Og My Fright, Frightfully Fun, Halloween Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. It actually wasn't a card, it was a tag but I worked it into a card. You can see the tag by clicking here. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock for the largest layer. I cut a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Frightfully Fun" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the Basic Black piece and that was then taped to the front of the card base.

Using the third largest die in the "Everyday Arches" set I cut one of Basic Black card stock and then using the 4th largest, I cut one of Basic White card stock.

On the Basic White arched piece, I took a blending brush and scrubbed on some Pumpkin Pie ink at the bottom and another brush and scrubbed on some Gorgeous Grape ink. I took my mister and gave it a few sprits. My mister was a pretty light one so I didn't get the big glops of watermarks like the original one did. But it's okay, I like how the background looks. I set it aside to dry.

While the piece was drying, I cut the tree and bats using Basic Black card stock and the dies from "Oh My Fright" bundle. The moon was cut using Lemon Lolly card stock and I brushed the edges using Lemon Lolly ink to highlight it a bit more.

I cut a ghost using a piece of vellum. 

Once the arched piece was dried, I glued it to the Basic Black arched layer. I used glue because the Basic White piece warped from the water. 

The words are from the "Oh My Fright" bundle using Basic Black ink and were stamped at the lower left of the arched piece. 

When I cut my tree, I used a piece of a double sided sheet because I wanted it to be a sticker. Gluing down those branches is not fun so adding the adhesive sheet to the back made it easier to stick in place. I removed the backing and then added the vellum ghost to the back of the tree after I removed the backing from the tree. I pressed the ghost in place and then added a bit of glue where the ghost is touching the tree. Glue anywhere else will show through the ghost. The amount I added where the tree showed through the ghost was enough to hold it in place. The tree was set in place on the edge of the top arch. 

The moon was added next and it was glued in place.

I cut pieces of dimensionals and added it to the wings of the bats. The original piece using a large bat and I liked it, I actually put one on the card but I removed it because my tree was up too high so there wasn't a lot of room and it looked crowded. So I added the smaller bats. I actually like them better.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the arched layers and it was set in place on the front of the card. I centered it by eyeing it. I always figure that if it looks centered to my eyes, it's centered enough.

Those cute little ghost were added last. They are from the "Adhesive-backed Bats, Ghosts & Dots" package. They are just too cute!  And that was it, the card was done!

This was a fun card to make. I love the colors and all the activity going on here. I can't wait to play with this bundle again!

Stitched Season, Stitched Stocking, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fun to make Christmas card to share with you. I found it on Pinterest. I did change it a little but for the most art it looks similar. You can see the original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how it was made. 

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Garden Green. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Real Red card stock. In the center of that piece I cut the largest arch layer from the "Everyday Arches" set using the 4th die. Then I taped the large layer on top of the card base.

The next layer is a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Stitched Season" 12" x 12" package. I taped that to the Real Red large layer.

Then I die cut the Basic White piece using the 5th die in the "Everyday Arches" set. The words are from the "Stitched Stocking" bundle and were stamped using Real Red ink.

There's a fun tree die in the "Stitched Stocking" bundle. I cut the tree from a piece of DSP in the same package. The die sort of cuts the tree but it's still stuck at it's corners. I took my snips and cut the tree out of the piece. Then I took that same die and cut one of the red DSP from the same package and I taped that clipped tree from the green piece. The square was taped to the Basic White arched piece.

I taped the two arches together and set it on the front of the card base using Dimensionals. 

I tied a stitched red bow and glued it to the front of the card. 

I have a huge collection of buttons that were from my mom and many of them were from her mom (my grandma). I dug trough them and found a small white one. I set it on top of the bow using a glue dot. I took some mono glue and a toothpick and added a little glue to the top edge of the button. I dipped it in some silver glitter and let it dry while I wrote up this post.

This was a fun card to make. I LOVE all of the pieces in the set and while looking at other cards using this set I found one that was SO beautiful that I am going to have to give it a try. It has lots of pieces and sometimes those cards take me a few days to do because I just do little parts at a time. I do look forward to making it in the near future or tomorrow (if I'm to anxious to make it LOL).

Pretty Poinsettia, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a Christmas card to share with you. I found it on Pinterest and thought it was so pretty. I just had to make it. You can see the original card by clicking here. There were no instructions on how to make it so I had to wing it. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Barely Blush card stock for the largest layer. I taped it to the card base.

The Basic White layer was cut at 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" and was textured using the "Swirls of Magic" embossing folder. I glued it to the front of the card.

I didn't have the gingham paper so I used the Buffalo Plaid that I had. I cut it at 3-7/8" x 2". I glued this to the front of the card about 2" up from the bottom of the card base.

The poinsettia petals were cut from Barely Blush card stock using the dies from the "Pretty Poinsettia" bundle. This is the second poinsettia card I made using this bundle and I struggle with putting the petals together. There's no way to make this into a rounded flower, it's got a bit of a boxy look.  I put the four layers of petals together using a little bit of glue. A little is all you need. There's not a big space to put the glue. I did add a small circle to the back and worked on top of that. 

The leaves and flower center were cut from a gold piece card stock. I cut the large leaf spring at the top three leaves and I cut the other three leaves off separately. I glued the little flower center pieces on top of each other. The dies cut four but I only used three.  I set the flower aside while I worked on the word piece.

The words are from the same "Pretty Poinsettia" bundle and were stamped using Versa Mark on Basic White card stock. I sprinkled gold embossing powder on it and heat set it. I cut it out using the third largest stitched rectangle die from the "Nested Essentials" die set.  dimensionals were added to the back and it was set aside while I searched for some ribbon with gold in it. 

I cut a 5-1/2" piece of the ribbon and folded it in half. I added a glue dot to hold it together. Then I added another glue dot to affix it to the front of the card. 

The backing on the dimensionals on the word piece was removed and it was set in place over the ribbon.

Then the poinsettia was added using glue. Once it was in place, I added the other three leaves to the left side of the flower and that was it, the card was done.

This card gave me a bit of a struggle with the poinsettia petals but all in all it turned out. I think adding the extra leaves helped make it not look so boxy. I like the looks of it and I love the color.

Stitched Stocking, A Stitched Season, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a Christmas card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. I think the original card using Secret Sea card stock but I didn't have a full sheet left so I opted for black. Besides, I think the color around cardinals eyes is supposed to be black, so I went with the black. I taped a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Basic White to the inside. I also cut another 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Basic White and taped it to the front. I should have waited with that because of the stenciling but I wasn't thinking.  Well, I kind of was, I was thinking, "I don't have that stencil."  But I was able to make that stencil using the die in the "Stitched Stocking" bundle. I cut the card stock for the stencil to fit the area and then I used a blending brush and Real Red ink to stencil it.  To make sure I had the stencil were I wanted it, I lightly traced around the center diamond shaped piece using a pencil. Once I saw where my stencil should line up, I erased the pencil marks. I used a kneadable eraser. I can not express enough how great these erasers are. They only pick up the graphite and never mess up the texture of the paper. Being it's kneadable, I will take a piece off of it and from it into a tube that will fit in my mechanical pencil. I just have to have it easily available. Okay, sales pitch done! LOL  And after looking at the original card, though it was a bit out of focus, the right side could have been die cut and red card stock added behind it. I like the stencil look myself. 

The green strip measures 2" x 5-1/4" and it's from the "A Stitched Season" Designer Series Paper (DSP) package. I taped it to the front of the card about 3/8" from the edge of the Basic White layer.

I cut the birds next. They are from that same sheet of DSP. You get two sheets of this design and on those sheets there's only one bird that faces left so when I cut the DSP for the strip, I made sure I avoided the birds. 

There's a die in the set that has a present on it and I think that was what was used on the original card for the layer behind the birds. It didn't dawn on me until the card was finished that that's where the square probably came from.  I just measured the bird piece and cut the Basic Black squares accordingly.  They measure 1-5/8" x 1-5/8" each. I taped the birds on top and taped each bird to the front of the card. I lined up the bottom edge on the bottom one so it looked like there was equal spacing on the bottom and both sides. I did the same with the top bird.

The words are from the same bundle and were stamped with Basic Black ink on Basic White card stock that I pre-cut to 2" x 1-1/4".  I usually stamp my words and cut the paper after but here I wanted to make sure I had the exact size I needed.  I taped the word piece to the center of the card. I just eyed it. 

I didn't have the dark stitched ribbon that was used on the original card but I did have some retired Real Red stitched ribbon, so I used it and it worked just fine.

For the bling, I didn't have the buttons that were used in the so I added a couple of retired "Polished Dots" and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make but a bit disappointing that I can only make two like this. I might just hang on to the other bird to see if something on Pinterest comes up using it. Something that I just have to give a try to.

Pretty Poinsettia, Scalloped Wishes, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I fund a super pretty Christmas card on Pinterest and I just had to make it. You can see the original card by clicking here. I love it when friends have different stamp sets then you do. You get to play with more of the ones you wanted but had to draw the line when purchasing. And I love it even more when they go on vacation and leave the stamp sets with you! LOL Please read on to see how this card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Barely Blush card stock. In the center of that piece I cut the scalloped oval from the "Scalloped Wishes" bundle. Then I taped the Barely Blush layer on the card base. Then I took a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Swirls of Magic" embossing folder. I think it's a versatile folder, it can be used for Halloween and Christmas! I glued this piece on top of the Barely Blush layer. 

The poinsettia petals were cut next from Barley Blush card stock. The centers were colored in with a blending brush and Strawberry Slush ink. I ended up cutting and extra set of petals, the large back one. 

The center was stamped using Golden Glow ink and was cut out using the matching die from the "Pretty Poinsettia" bundle. 

Peaceful Pine card stock was used for the leaves. 

The words are from the same "Pretty Poinsettias" bundle using Basic Black ink on Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the same die I used for the scalloped oval. I set the word piece back in the oval and turned it over. I added Dimensionals and made sure they touched where the two colors meet to hold them both in place. I set it in place on the lower right of the card. The scalloped bumps, bottom and right are just a hair inside the line of the textured piece. 

I had a bit of an issue getting the petals put together. I just couldn't get it to look rounded so I ended up cutting that extra back set of leaves. I used a little bit of glue to hold them together. The center of the flower was also glued in place.

The leaves were added to the back. I couldn't get the stem to stick out with flowers on it so I ended up cutting off the stem. I just didn't think it looked good with just a stem sticking out. I also cut a few leaves off and place them around the flower.  Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card.

I had some retired "Candy Dots" in Pretty in Pink so I added them to the front of the card and the card was done.

I just thought this card was so pretty that I had to make one. I do like how it turned out, even with my subtle changes.

Fun For Fall, Fragrant Layers, Friendship Card, Scarecrow Card, Stampin' Up

Hello and welcome to my blog. I can't tell you how much fun I had making this card. It's got lots of pieces and lots of things going on to get it done. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Golden Glow card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside.

On the front I had taken a piece of Basic White card stock and stamped it using a buffalo plaid stamp and Golden Glow ink. I cut it to measure 1-1/2" x 5-1/4".  I taped it to the right side of the card.

Using the leaves from the "Seasonal Cheer" mini embossing folders. I took my brayer and inked it up with Golden Glow ink and ran it across the smooth side of the embossing folder. I trimmed the piece to 2-3/4" x 5-1/4" and glued it to the left side of the card, overlapping the buffalo plaid piece.

The scarecrow from the "Fun For Fall" bundle was stamped next using Basic Black ink on Basic White card stock. I also stamped the crow at the same time. I cut both out using the matching dies. 

Using blends pens I colored the two pieces. I have a handful of Blends pens to put back! For the had and overalls I used light Misty Moonlight. For the shirt and hat band, I used light Real Red. The straw was colored in using light Pumpkin Pie. Light Shaded Spruce was used for the scar and patches. Ivory was used for the scarecrow's face. Light Peaceful Pine was used for the grass at the bottom of the post. The post was colored in using dark Pecan Pie. I also used it on the two buttons and the crow's eye. The crow was colored in using the light Basic Black pen.

Now that all of that coloring was done, I began die cutting the other pieces. The corn stalks were cut from Peaceful Pine card stock. The corn was cut from a scrap piece of Golden Glow and the fence was cut from Early Espresso. I cut two sets of corn stalks and two fences. 

Using Basic White card stock I used the 4th largest die from the "Everyday Arches" set. I took a blending brush and scrubbed on some Peaceful Pine on the bottom area and Hydrangea Hue in for the sky.

The fence was glued together and the ends were trimmed off so it fit nicely in the arched area. 

I glued the cobs to the corn stalks. I took my Crushed Curry marker (I kept my markers) and drew lines on the cobs to show the kernels.  The corn stalks were die cut in a set of 3 that were fused together. I trimmed off the end ones side they would be hidden behind the scarecrow and I figured I'd just use them to make the sides look fuller. I added tape to the tops of the corn stalks and on a few of the leaves. I set them in place on the arched piece.

Next the scarecrow was added using Dimensionals.  Here's where you'd just want to set the scarecrow where it's going to go so it would be easier to add the words. I didn't do it that way! (don't ask why! LOL). Once the scarecrow was affixed, I added the fence by placing Dimensional pieces to the two side posts and glue on the two middle ones.

The scarecrow was added using two small Dimensionals and that part was done. I set the piece up on my MISTI and stamped the "hello" from the "Fragrant Layers" bundle using Basic Black ink.

I glued the back of the arched piece and it was set in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

I had SO much fun making this card. I love the colors and the fall feel it has.

Oh My Fright, Frightfully Fun, Halloween Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a Halloween card to share with you. I found it on Pinterest and I added a little more to it. You can see the original card by clicking here. 

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Frightfully Fun" 12" x 12" package. It was taped to the front of the card base.

The ghosts and bats are from the "Oh My Fright" bundle. I cut the bats using Basic Black card stock and the ghosts from Basic White card stock. I added Dimensionals to the backs of each of them and set them in place on the front of the card.

I took some black ribbon that I had and folded a 6" piece in half, opened it up a bit and taped it to the lower right side of the card.

The words are from the same bundle and were stamped using Basic Black ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. Using a die from the "Spotlight on Nature" set I cut them out. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place over the ribbon.

I added a tiny bat from the "Bats & Ghosts & Dots" embellishment package to the word piece and the card was done.

It was a fun card to make and the pieces were fun to play with. I like it better with the bats and that little bat embellishment its just too darn cute!

Wild Bunch, Note Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a note card to share with you. I found it on Pinterest and just had to make it. Since I have a lot of these characters from the "Wild Bunch" set already cut out, I might as well use them, right? You can see the original card by clicking here.  Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock.  A 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Basic White card stock was cut and taped to the inside.

The polka dotted Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Paper Medley" 12" x 12" package. I cut it at 5-1/4" x 4" and taped it to the front of the card.

Using the 3rd square in the "Stylish Shapes" set I used a scrap piece of Basic White card stock to cut it out on. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set aside.

I used the light Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie Blends pens to color in the penguin. 

The words were done next. They are from the same "Wild Bunch" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Pool Party card stock using Basic Black ink.  I cut the piece to measure 1" x 1-3/8".  I added a tiny dot of tape to the back and set it on the square piece. I did the same with the penguin.  Once they were where I liked them I set them in place. I added tape to the right side of the word piece and placed it back on the square. 

Dimensionals were added to the back of the penguin where it touched the square and it was set in place. 

I removed the backing from the Dimensionals on the square and set it in place on the front of the card. It's about 3/8" from the fold and the right side and 1-1/2" from the top edge and measuring from the square it's about 2-1/8" from the bottom edge.

The dots are from the "Bats Ghosts & Dots" embellishment package. There's so many of them in the package that I'm pretty sure I won't be using them all up on Halloween cards. So I'm trying to use up what I have.

This was a super easy, quick and fun card to make. I like this simple layout and can see myself using it again in the near future.

Framed Violets, Velvet Meadow, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Velvet Meadow" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the front of the card base.

Next I stamped the flowers from the "Framed Violets" 12" x 12" package using Basic Black ink. I cut them out with the matching die. I don't have the in colors Blends so I used my Blending pen and ink pads to color it. I used Hydrangea Hue for the flowers and Peaceful Pine for the greens.  

Using the "Framed Violets" dies, I cut the scalloped oval using Peaceful Pine card stock. I also cut an oval using Basic White card stock. On the Basic White piece I stamped the words from the same "Framed Violets" set using Basic Black ink. I taped the ovals together and added Dimensionals to the back. I set the piece in place on the front of the card.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the flower piece and it was placed on top of the oval. 

I added a couple of tiny pearls to the center of the flowers. 

And for a final touch, I added a brass butterfly that I had leftover. I have two more in that package and it will be great to actually use up a package of embellishments.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. I love the softness of the colors on here.

Wild Bunch, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a friendship card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Calypso Coral card stock for the largest layer. 

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) used here is from the "Paper Medley" 12" x 12" package. It was cut at 4-1/4" x 3". It 's taped to a 4-1/2" x 3-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set aside.

I took a scrap piece of Calypso Coral and made the frame using the 2nd and 3rd dies in the "Nested Essentials" set. I also cut a Basic White piece using both dies. I trimmed away the dotted edge on the larger Basic White piece so I could use it as a backing. I taped the frame to the piece.

On the smaller Basic White piece I scrubbed on some "Smoky Slate" ink using my Blending brush. I taped that to the center of the Calypso Coral frame. Dimensionals were added on the back and it was set aside.

The snail is from the "Wild Bunch" set and was stamped using Basic Black ink. I want to say I fussy cut it out but what I did was I stamped a 8-1/2" x 11" piece of Basic White card stock using all of the characters in the "Wild Bunch" set and I ran it through my Scan n Cut and let the machine cut them out for me. It's such a hand and time saver.  I colored the snail's body using my Ivory Blends pen. And for the shell I used my light and dark Calypso Coral Blends pens. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the center of the rectangle framed piece. 

The words are from the same "Wild Bunch" set and were stamped using Basic Black ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the 3rd circle die in the "Stitched Shapes" set. I colored around the edge using the dark Calypso Coral Blends pen. 

Next I removed the backing on the Dimensionals on the large Basic White and DSP piece and centered it on top of the large Calypso Coral layer.

The snail layered piece was set in place on the upper part of the card using equal spacing on the sides and top.

The words were taped in place under the snail image and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make. It didn't take much coloring and with the Scan n Cut cutting out my piece it didn't take much time to make either.  I hope to use that machine more but most of the sets I buy have matching dies.
