Cutest Crew, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have another card to share with you using the "Cutest Crew" bundle. I just couldn't help myself after running across this card. You can see the original card by clicking here.  Please read on to see how it was made. 

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Azure Afternoon card stock for the largest layer.

A 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White was cut for the top layer.  I set these pieces aside.

Next I die cut a Basic White piece using the largest rectangle in the "Nested Essentials" die set. I laid the die on my card stock (sitting in my MISTY) and I stamped the birds on the upper area and I stamped the words on the lower part. Both are from the "Cutest Crew" bundle. They were stamped using black Memento ink.

Using that same die I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Love Notes" 6" x 6" package. It was the closes to the blue on the original card. I measured how much I needed on the left side of the stamped rectangle and cut it to fit. I taped it in place.

I colored the birds using Azure Afternoon Blends pens for the two outer birds. For the center bird I used dark Petal Pink overall and light Pumpkin Pie for the highlights. 

The beaks were colored in using dark Daffodil Delight.

The grass was colored in using dark Soft Sea Foam.

The "HELLO" was colored over using the light Pumpkin Pie Blends pen.

I laid the rectangle on top of the Basic White piece to see where the cute little feet would go. They were stamped using Azure Afternoon ink.

Tape was added behind the large Basic White piece and it was taped to the Azure Afternoon piece and then that was taped to the card base.

Dimensionals were added behind rectangle and it was set in place on the front of the card with equal spacing on the top and sides.

I had some retired ribbon (light blue, no other name, just light - that's how old it is!), I tied a bow and glued it to the bottom left of the rectangle and the card was done.

I was going to texture the Basic White piece after I stamped the feet but I forgot. 

This card was so quick and easy to make. I just love these birds and this card is just too darn cute!

Cutest Crew, Simply Said, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have one more card to share with you using the "Cutest Crew" bundle. I had the bird sitting on my worktable and I thought I should use it. But what do you do with such a tiny image. Well, I always head to my go-to card for small images. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Old Olive for the largest layer and taped it to the card base. 

The Basic White layer was cut at 3-1/2" x 4-5/8".

For the top two layers I had to work with both of them at the same time. I cut my Petal Pink card stock at 3" x 4-1/8" and the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Lovely Blossoms" 12" x 12" package was cut at 2-7/8" x 4". I added a tiny bit of tape where I thought the circled would go. I lined up the DSP so the edges were equal on all sides. Then I took a 1-1/4" circle punch and punched out the circle (though both layers). Then I took the piece of DSP and added a piece of scrap copier paper behind it so it wouldn't get pinched or stick in my punch and I punched out a ring using a 1-3/8" circle punch. I taped the two layers together.

I cut a 2" x 2" piece of Basic White card stock and scrubbed on some Old Olive ink. I added Dimensionals around the back of the circle and set the piece on top. I cut a 4-1/2" piece of Old Olive (retired) ribbon and taped the ends to the back of the piece. It's about 7/8" up from the bottom of the circle layered piece. Dimensionals were added to the back of the piece and tape was added to the back of the 2" x 2" square and it was set in place on top of the 3-1/2" x 4-5/8" Basic White layer. Then this was taped to the card base.

Next I colored the bird using both light and dark Petal Pink Blends pens but I didn't think the dark one was dark enough so I used my light Pumpkin Pie pen to add some shadowing highlights.  I colored the grass with both light and dark Old Olive Blends.  I had fussy cut the bird and grass out. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place in the center of the circle.

The "hello" is from the "Simply Said" set and was stamped using black Memento ink and cut with a die from the "Banner Sayings" bundle. I set it in place using Dimensionals and the card was done.

I just love this layout and I have used it a lot of times on my blog. So grab a tiny image and highlight it using this layout.

Cutest Crew, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a "Cutest Crew" card to share with you using the dogs. I had to be fair since I did the birds and cats so far. I found this card on Pinterest. I struggled with it because I'm not a dog person so figuring out colors for the dogs was more difficult for me than finding colors for cats or birds. The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Pecan Pie card stock and textured it using the "Beautiful Pattern" embossing folder. I glued this to the card base.

Next I cut the circle from the "Stylish Shapes" die set using the largetst one.  

I stamped the words from the same "Cutest Crew" bundle using black Memento ink.  I glued this piece on top of the Pecan Pie layer.

The dogs were stamped using black Memento ink on Basic White card stock. They were cut out using the matching die. I colored them in using Blends pens. I used Pecan pie for the brown dogs and light Gray Granite for the other two dogs. I used dark Azure Afternoon for one scarf and Poppy Parade for the other scarf. Two dogs have tags and I colored them using the light Pumpkin Pie pen. The flowers were colored  in using light Highland Heather and light Daffodil Delight. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set aside.

I cut the paw prints using the die in the bundle on Poppy Parade card stock. I glued it across the bottom part of the circle. I cut out the butterflies at the same time.

The dogs were set in place next. Then I added the butterflies and the hearts.  The hearts came from the centers of the paw prints I cut out. 

For a bit of a sparkle I added some Wink of Stella to the hearts and flowers and the card was done.

This was another fun card using the "Cutest Crew" bundle. My favorite is the birds and I hope to find time to make one more card using them before my order arrives.  Every time I mention that I'm waiting for my order to arrive I hear the Jeopardy theme son play in my head.  LOL

Cutest Crew, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a friendship card to share with you. I found the cats on my worktable and I had cut one of the cats off of it for a prior card. So I thought I'd look for a card to use the 4 cats. I found this and worked with it, click here to see the original card. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Petunia Pop card stock for the largest layer. A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White for the next layer and a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Bubble Bath card stock for the top layer.  

I textured the top layer using the "Beautiful Pattern" embossing folder. 

Before taping the layers together I cut the butterflies from the center of the Petunia Pop piece.

After taping the layers together I taped them to the front of the card base.

I took my row of cats from the "Cutest Crew" bundle and colored them using my Blends pens. Going from left to right, I colored the first cat using light Petal Pink and added some stripes using light Pumpkin Pie.

The second and fourth cat were colored in using light Pecan Pie. And for the third cat I used light Smoky Slate, leaving the belly area uncolored.

I colored the butterflies using light Highland Heather, Melon Mambo (which should have been Petunia Pop but I picked up the wrong color) and the last butterfly is in light Bubble Bath.

The words are from the "Cutest Crew" bundle, stamped using black Memento ink and cut using the die from the "Spotlight on Nature" dies.

The Basic White strip was cut at 3-7/8" x 1-1/2".  I glued that strip to the front of the card about1" from the bottom of the Bubble Bath piece.

I added tape to the back of the word piece and let it in place about 1/2" up from the bottom edge of the Basic White strip.  I didn't press down because I thought I might need to move it.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the cats and they were set in place on the Basic White strip and was set in place on the bottom edge of the strip. I was happy where things were laying so I pressed down on the word piece. 

I glued the butterflies in place and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make. I am having a lot of fun with the images I had stamped when I was at my friend's place. I have a few more and hope to use them before the new items arrive.

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a friendship card to share with you. I just can't seem to get enough of these cute little birds from the "Cutest Crew" bundle. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Melon Mambo card stock for the largest layer.

The Petal Pink layer on top of the Melon Mambo measures 4" x 5-1/4".

A 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White was taped on top of the Petal Pink. I normally don't put the layers together before I do my stamping but for today I'm making the exception.  Normally I would take the Basic White piece and partially decorate it to the point to where I know the words would be going but I just went ahead and assembled as I went.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Love Notes" 6" x 6" package I had bought around Valentine's Day. I don't normally buy Valentine's Day sets or papers because they are only good for one day. It's not like it's a season or leading up to a season. Kind of like the 4th of July too. I refrain from buying sets in that genre too.  Anyway, I had broke down and bought this stack thinking I'd use a lot of the pieces and I did but there's a lot of pieces in the package to begin with. Anyway, I had cut that piece to measure 2-1/2" x 3-7/8".  I taped it to the bottom of the Basic White piece. 

I cut a 3/8" x 3-7/8" piece of Melon Mambo for the strip. I taped that in place on top of the DSP

I had stamped the birds several days ago (could be weeks by now) using black Memento ink on Basic White card stock. They were cut out using the matching die. I colored them using my light and dark Blends pens. The one on the left is Petal Pink. The one in the middle is Bubble Bath and the one on the end is Melon Mambo. The beaks were colored in using dark Daffodil Delight and I colored the grass in using my Garden Green ink pad and a Blending pen since there is no Garden Green Blends pen. Dimensionals were added and I laid the piece on top but didn't remove the backing from the Dimensionals.

The words were added next. They are from the same "Cutest Crew" bundle and were stamped using black Memento ink.

Then I set the birds in place.

I die cut the little butterflies using a scrap piece of Melon Mambo card stock and glued them in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a super fun, quick and easy card to make. I am just loving those cute little birds.
