The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Timeless Christmas" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the front of the card base.
On top of that is a 3-1/2" x 4-5/8" piece of Basic White card stock. I did not tape it to the front of the card. I am using it to build the rest of the card on top of.
I cut a piece of Real Red card stock that measures 3" x 4-1/8" and another piece of DSP that measures 2-7/8" x 4". I added a little tape in the area a bit above center, in the area where I'm going to be punching. I used a 1-1/4" circle punch to punch both layers out. I made sure that both pieces were lined up equally on all sides before I punched.
Then I took the DSP piece and put a piece of copier paper behind it and then cut a 1-3/8" circle ring. This will allow the opening to show the Real Red card stock as a nice frame. I taped the two pieces together.
The mouse in the image was left over from the card I made the other day. I saw the mouse on there and just couldn't toss the piece in recycling.
I added dimensionals around the circle of the card stock opening and then set it on top of the mouse and got it to where I got the part of the image in it that I wanted.
Then I added dimensionals to the back of the layer and tape to the back of the mouse piece. This was then set on top of the Basic White piece. And finally that was set on top of the card base.
The words are from the "Christmas Mice" bundle and were stamped using Real Red ink on Basic White card stock that measures 3/4" x 2-1/2". Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place sort of centering it between the circle and bottom edge of the circle layered piece.
I bought those adorable holly and berries embellishments and I added a set to the upper right area of the circle layered piece and the card was done.
This was a fun card to make. I just can't get enough of card using this layout. I love it because it allows me to use smaller images and make them the focal point.
Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Christmas card,
Wanda
