Peaceful Garden, Greetings of the Season, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a beautiful Christmas card that I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card by clicking here.  There were no instructions there to tell how to make this card, so I had to wing it. Please read on to see how I put the card together.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Night of Navy card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White was cut and then taped on the inside.

The next layer is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock. I think Secret Sea card stock was used but my supply of it is limited. It's so dark that Basic Black is a perfect substitute. I taped this to the front of the card.

Next I cut the Designer Series Paper (DPS) from the "Peaceful Garden" 12" x 12" package. I cut the top part at 3-7/8" x 3-1/2" and the bottom piece was cut at 3-7/8" x 1-1/2".

On the smaller piece of DSP I stamped the "Merry Christmas" from the "Greetings of the Season" bundle.  I used Night of Navy ink. I had just added ink to my pad and it's amazing how nice and clean it stamps when the ink pad has just the right amount of ink on it. I tend to make them too juicy and I have a big mess. I managed to do it just right today. I hope I remember how I did that when I need to add ink to more pads. Wish me luck on that! I taped the two pieces of DSP on the front of the card.

The doves are from another sheet of DSP from the same package. I used a die from the "Spotlight on Nature" set. After looking at the original card closer that piece was cut using a glittered sheet. I don't have any of it so I ended up just adding some Wink of Stella to the edge. It gave it a little sparkle. Sometimes you just have to do what you can with what you have.  Dimensionals were added to the back of this piece and it was set in place on the front of the card.

I took some "Candy Dots" (retired) and using my dark Night of Navy Blends pen and I colored three dots. I let them dry for a couple of minutes and I set them in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a super quick and easy card to make and I REALLY like this layout. I'm going to have to make another one using copier paper for my stack of templates. I like to have my templates in 3d. I like to see the layers and I also write the date on the front when the template was used so I can go back and look at it and see the details for more ideas or for clarity.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Christmas card,

Homemade Treats, Peace on Earth, Greetings of the Season, Christmas Gift Tag, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I thought I would make some gift tags for our Christmas presents. Here's what I came up with. Please read on to see how it was made.

The first thing I did was I cut the Real Red backing piece using the die from the "Peace on Earth" die set using the largest layered die in there. Then I took the smaller die and laid it on a piece of Basic White card stock so I could get an idea where things were going to go.

Using my Real Red ink pad and the cute little trees and candy canes stamp, from the "Homemade Treats" bundle,  I covered a 2" x 4" area. I paid special attention to not getting ink on the edges of the stamp because when stamping on the card stock it showed the mess.  I also dropped the stamp and made a bigger mess so I had to start over. It would have been so bad but I had already die cut the piece before stamping. UGH.  Once the area was covered I laid the die on top to see where my words would go.

I stamped the words from the "Greetings of the Season" bundle using black Memento ink. Then I cut the piece out using the smaller die.  I moved the die over so I had room on the left for the candy cane. I taped the two layers together.

The candy cane is from the "Homemade Treats" bundle and was stamped using Real Red ink. I cut it out using the matching die. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the left side of the piece.

I punched an 1/8th" hole and I will add a piece of white Baker's Twine to it later. And that was it. Now to make a dozen or so! I didn't want to go too fancy or something that would take a lot of time because it's just going to get tossed anyway.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Christmas gift tag,

Peaceful Garden, Peace on Earth, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a simple card to share with you. It's a two/for card. You will need to cut your Designer Series Paper (DSP) and once it's done you will be able to make two cards from it.  Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock for the large layer.

Next I cut the DSP from the "Peaceful Garden" 12" x 12" package. It measures 2-3/8" x 3-1/2".  I cut two because I wanted to use the backside of the dove imaged side. When you cut on the diagonal on one piece, switch corners for the second piece and turn it over. I also cut a piece of copier paper that measures just shy of 2-3/8" x 3-1/2".  I cut it scant because I didn't want it to show when I place the two pieces of DSP on top. After taping the pieces of DSP on the top of the copier paper I set it on top of the Basic White card stock so I could see where the words go.

The words are from the "Peace on Earth" bundle. I stamped them using black Memento ink. Once the words were stamped I taped the rectangle piece in place.

I cut a dove from the same "Peace on Earth" bundle using Basic White card stock. I cut the spring using a scrap piece of Secret Sea card stock and the die from the same bundle.

The dove was set in place using Dimensionals and the a tiny dot of glue was placed on each leaf and set in place on the dove, making sure the end of the stem was by the beak.  And that was it, the card was done.

Such a fun card to make. I guess I should say fun cards!  It's quick and easy and I ended up with two cards in no time.

Homemade Treats, Greetings for You, Christmas Tags & More, Christmas Cards, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a sweet Christmas card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

This layout is one of my favorites for small images. It puts the focus on that tiny image and all of a sudden it's the focus of the card!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Real Red card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside of the card.

On the front the layers are as follows. The Basic White piece is cut at 4-1/2" x 4-5/8". The Garden Green piece is cut at 3" x 4-1/8" and the Designer Series Paper (DSP) was cut at 2-7/8" x 4".

I took the DSP and used a small amount of tape in the area were the opening is going to be and attached it to the Garden Green card stock.  Using my 1-1/4" punch and I put the piece all the way inside the punch. I looked on each side to see that it was spaced equally.  Then I took the piece of DSP and put a piece of copier paper under it (for a little thickness or it will rip the DSP)and using my 1-3/8" punch to make the opening in the DSP larger.  I save the circles but I recycle the little ring of DSP.  I taped the two pieces together, lining them up as much as I could. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set aside. I forgot to mention that the DSP is from the "Christmas Tags & More" 6" x 6" stack.

I took another piece from that same package of DSP (2" x 2") and placed it over the hole (after removing the backing on the Dimensionals. Once the backing was removed on all of the Dimensionals I added some tape to the 2" x 2" piece so it would stick in the center of the whole piece too. I had centered this on the Basic White piece.

Tape was added to the back of the Basic White piece and it was then set in place on the card base.

The little gingerbread man is from the "Homemade Treats" bundle. I stamped it using Pecan Pie ink and then I cut it out using the matching die. Two small Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set i place inside the circle.

The words are from the "Greetings For You" ephemera pack. They are stickers. I didn't remove the backing, I just added Dimensionals to the back of it and set it in place on the front of the card.

I had some retired "Real Red & White Peppermints". I think these should be a basic holiday staple during the holiday sales.  That and the snowflake ones they had last year.  I used three of them on my card and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and a perfect layout for those smaller images.
