The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Jolly Holly" embossing folder. I glued that to the front of the card base. I set it under my stamping mat to add a little pressure to it while I worked on other parts of the card.
Next I took my "Everyday Arches" dies and using the second largest one I cut a piece of gold foil paper. Then I took the 3rd largest and cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Traditions of Christmas" 12" x 12" package. I used some strong tape and taped it to the gold foil piece.
I cut off the left side so the piece measures 2-3/4". I was going to see if I could just cut it in half and get two cards out of the piece but it looked just like I was trying to get two cards out of it. So cutting it to 2-3/4" make it look like you meant to do that! I glued that piece to the front of the card about 3/8" from the bottom.
The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped in what looks like Gorgeous Grape. It was left inside my stamp set with the Dimensionals already on it so I thought I'd use it. The colors go well with the DSP so I decided to just use it up. I set in in place about 1-1/4" from the bottom edge of the card and the bottom edge of the word piece. And that was it.
This was a fun card to make and I like the arch cut like that. It makes for a different layout (one I'd never done before) and a totally different look.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's holiday birthday card,
Wanda
