Autumn Leaves, Days to Remember, Pick of the Patch, Masculine Fall Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I took the other pieces of the "One Sheet Wonder" pumpkin paper that I made a few weeks back.  I has used the "Pick of the Patch" set to make the full sheet. It took a while to do because I had to stamp off and then spritz the image and then stamp on the card stock. I stuck with it and got the whole sheet filled. Then I used my Blending Brush to scrub on some more color around the whole sheet. Yesterday I cut a quarter sheet from the full sheet and used part of it. Today I'm using the other part that measures 2-1/2" x 4". Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of the card is a folded sheet of Basic White card stock. I taped the "One Sheet Wonder" piece to it on the left. 

On the right I glued a piece of Garden Green card stock that measured 1-1/2" and was textured using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder. 

A 1/4" piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock was cut for the strip between the two affixed pieces. I glued that strip in place.

The leaves are from the "Autumn Leaves" bundle and were die cut using the "Oxidized Copper" Designer Series Paper (DSP) and gold foil paper. I glued the two gold ones down and the copper one was set in place using Dimensionals.  I had colored a long piece of white piece of Baker's Twine using my dark Pumpkin Pie Blends pen. I tied a bow and glued it on top of the copper leaf.

The words are from the "Days to Remember" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using Garden Green ink. I punched them out using the "Double Oval" punch.  I punched out a Pumpkin Pie scalloped oval piece using the same punch. I taped the ovals together and set them in place using Dimensionals.

I had some retired rhinestones I added to give the card a little bling.  I didn't want to add too much bling since it's supposed to be a masculine card but it goes either way.  And that was it.

I like how it looked but I like yesterday's card better.

Dainty Delight, Layering Leaves, Friendship Card, Book Card Technique, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a friendship card to share with you. I had a lot of fun making it and was thrilled that it turned out they way I imagined it! Please read on to see how I made todays card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut it in half on the short side so once cut it measured 4-1/4" x 11". The fold is on the left and it opens on the right. I scored it at 4-1/2", 5-1/2", and 6-1/2".  Fold the piece in half on the 5-1/2" score.  I added glue to the area between the 5-1/2" score line and 6-1/2" score line. Then I closed the card. Now you have a "Book Card". Super simple technique. Now you just decorate as you would like.

I wanted to make a ring of flower so I die cut 22 flowers from the "Dainty Delight" bundle. I glued two together so I ended up with 11 flowers. I also die cut 9 leaves using Mossy Meadow card stock.

A 4-1/4" x 4" piece of Basic White card stock and a 3/4" x 4" piece of Basic White card stock for the left side of the "book".  

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Fresh As A Daisy" 12" x 12" package. I cut one at 4" x 3-3/4" and a 1/2" x 3-3/4".  I taped the DSP strip to the Basic White strip and then taped that to the left side of the card. 

I lined up the two larger pieces and used some post it tape to hold them together. Then I took the second and third largest circle dies from the "Layering Dies" set and cut my circles. First I used the smaller one, centering it as much as I could on the taped pieces. After cutting them together, I took the larger one and lined it up on the piece of DSP. I did tape this down too, I didn't want it moving on me while I was cutting it. I didn't save the ring of DSP cutting it created.  I set the Basic White piece on top of the card front and I lightly traced around it onto the card base. I needed to see where I could stamp the words. The words are from the "Layering Leaves" set using black Memento ink. I let the ink dry a bit before I erased the lines. I have a kneadable eraser, it removes the graphite with out pilling your paper. It's one of the best erasers you can use. I highly recommend you getting one. You can get them at your local craft store where you'd find drawing pencils. I taped the DSP circle piece to the Basic White circle piece. I added Dimensionals to the back and set it in place on the top of the card base.

Now for the flowers. I added a dot of glue to the back of the flowers and place them around the ring. I forgot to mention the flower centers. I had die cut them when I die cut the flowers and I colored them in with my light Lolly Lemon Blends pen. You can also use Lemon Lolly card stock but I didn't have any scrap. I glued the centers on each flower.

Next the leaves were added by adding a little bit of glue and tucking them under the flowers. And the card was done.

I am pleased with the way the card turned out and I can't wait to mail it out.

Forever Fern, Go To Greetings, Fancy Flora, Friendship Card, Floating Circle Technique, Stampin' Up!

Hello! I'm happy you are here to see today's interesting card. I've wanted to play with the "Floating Circle" technique for a while now. I did a floating circle before but never like this one. You can see the one I made a while back by clicking here. Please read on to see how I made this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. The card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a piece of Basic White card stock to measure 5" x 3-3/4".  And I cut the Starry Sky layer at 5-1/8" x 3-7/8".  I set these two pieces aside.

You will need a window sheet for this technique. I die cut it using the 2-11/16" die from the "Layering Circles" die set. It's the second largest one in the set.

Next I cut strips of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Fancy Flora" 6" x 6" package at 1/4" each. I just randomly picked up the strips and set them in place on the circle using mono glue. I started in the center and worked my way out. To keep the spaces even between the strips, I set a toothpick down and butted the edge of the glued strip next to it. I waited a few seconds for the glue to set and then continued with the strips until the circle was filled.  Then I took a scissors and trimmed around the circle, cutting off the ends of the strips. Small Dimensionals were added to the back where the strips were so they wouldn't show through the window sheet. I set the piece aside.

Then I took a piece of Basic White card stock and die cut the leaves from the "Forever Fern" bundle. I trimmed off the bottom two leaf clusters because the piece was way to large. I glued the piece to the circle and I set it aside to set up.

The words are from the "Go To Greetings" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I did set the circle on the piece for placement to see where the words would go.

Once the words were stamped I set the circle in place. The Basic White piece was taped to the Starry Sky piece and that was taped to the card base and the card was done.

This was a fun technique and a whole lot easier to do than the previous one. I like this technique much better.

Lights Aglow, Christmas Card, Split Circle Technique, Stampin' Up! 2022 Fall Mini Catalog

Today's card was a lot of fun to make. I have been having fun with the "Split Circle" technique. I found a card on Pinterest and I thought it would be fun to use the Designer Series Paper (DSP) that I have to make it into a Christmas card. You can see the original card here. 

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock, I textured it using the snowflake die in the "Wintery 3D" embossing folder set. I glued this piece to the front of the card.

Then I die cut the circles using paper from the "Lights Aglow" 6" x 6" stack. There's some mighty pretty papers in that stack. One side they are embossed with gold and the backsides are not but are just as pretty. I used the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th largest stitched circles in the "Stylish Shapes" die set. And I cut each circle in half. You need to cut two large and two small of each color and the middle one is the same for the top and bottom piece.

Next the circles were taped together and glued in place on the front of the card.

I die cut a couple of gold foil leaves using the die from the "Forever Fern" set. I glued then in place on top of the line of the light green half-circle.

The words are from my computer. I used the Lucinda Handwriting font and the RGB code for the Evening Evergreen color 73R 90G 83B.  I printed them out and cut them 1/2" x 3-7/8".  I should have set the strip on the card using Dimensionals instead of gluing it in place.  It could stand a bit of depth.  But all in all I like it and I think I would make this card again. I may make a few for Christmas cards this year. They don't take a lot of DSP to do it.

Best Witches, Kid Friendly Halloween Card, Split Circle Technique Stampin' Up! Fall Mini Catalog 2022

I had so much fun making this card. I was looking on Pinterest and saw a card that used the "Split Circle" technique so I thought I'd see if I could make one using a Halloween motif.  And here it is. I think the green background could use something more but other than that I like it. Maybe I'll add a few black bats, I don't know but it does need something. You can see one I made by clicking here. 

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock for the layer and a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Granny Apple Green Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the Brights Collection 6" x 6" stack. I taped that on top of the Basic Black piece.

Next I die cut the circles using the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th largest circles in the "Stylish Shapes" set. I counted the circles being the largest one was number 1. 

I used Highland Heather DSP from the "Brights Collection" stack. Pumpkin Pie from the "Gingham Cottage" 12" x 12" stack, and Basic Black from the "Black & White Designs" 12" x 12" package. You need to cut 5 circles. The center one can be used for both the top and bottom split. You need to cut one large and one small of the Highland Heather and Basic Black ones. After you die cut them you need to cut them in half. After I die cut mine, I folded the scrap piece in half to find the center of the circle. I placed the circle back inside the piece and then marked center on the top and bottom lightly with a pencil. After they were cut I assembled the circle halves and taped them together. Put them together before you tape them or you could mess them up.  Yup, speaking from experience here!!

I die cut the second to the last circle using a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I colored it in using Gorgeous Grape ink and my Blending brush. 

The frog is from the "Best Witches" set and was stamped using black Memento ink. I fussy cut him out and colored him with both light and dark Granny Apple Green Blends pens. I set him in place on top of the Gorgeous Grape circle using a Dimensional.

The words are from my computer. I didn't have a current set with just "happy halloween" so I used my computer and I colored the words using the RGB code for the Pumpkin Pie color. I used Comic Sans MS font, bolded. I die cut the words using the ribbon ends die from the same "Stylish Shapes" set. I set the words in place using Dimensionals and the card was done. But like I said, the background needs something. Black dots. Stars. Bats.  Something.

Snowman Magic, Shaker Christmas Card, Stamping Techniques, Stampin' Up!

Today I ran across a fun shaker card. Shaker cards are not one of my favorite cards to make because of all the extra steps involved. But I endured them to make this card because I just LOVE snowmen!  I found the video here and it may be easier for you to watch it than for me to try to not miss a step. I will try and if you get lost, then go to the video. You can see that video you here. I didn't have some of the products used here so this is how I made mine.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

A 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Real Red card stock was cut for the layer. Before I taped it down I die cut the scarf. Then I glued the piece in place.. I wanted a very strong bond because I feel that the shaker part can be a bit weighty.

Next I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of DSP from the "Santa's Express" Designer Series Paper  12" x 12" package. I glued that on top of the Real Red piece.

I did not have the background paper that was used for behind the snowman so I had taken some retired DSP from the "Snowflake Splendor" package. If I necessary I was going to take a piece of card stock and wet it, add some Mint Macaron ink and some salt to get a wintry effect but I had this DSP so I went with it. I cut this background piece of DSP at 4-3/4" x 3-7/16".  I also cut another piece out of some scrap Basic White card stock. I taped the DSP on top of this piece. The DSP needed more stability. 

The snowflake frame is from the "Snowman Magic" bundle. I didn't have the glimmer paper that was used so I just used Basic White card stock. After die cutting it, I  cut the frame out using the second largest stitched frame from the "Rectangle Stitched Framelits" die set. 

I cut the snow at the bottom by just using my scissors and making some mounds. The original card has you make two separate snow mound pieces, I just made the one.

The snowman was die cut, you need two.  On one of them I die cut the face. You need to save the nose and color it in using the dark Pumpkin Pie Blends pen. You will also need to take a piece of Basic Black card stock and glue it behind the face so the eyes and mouth show. Though I'm thinking you could just take your marker and color in the second snowman in that space and get the same effect, right? After the black piece was set in place, the nose was glued on, then the scarf. The hat was die cut from a scrap piece of Basic Black and it was glued on. The second snowman body was glued to the first one.  I added a bit of Wink of Stella to the hat and scarf for a little sparkle.

The arms were die cut from Basic White card stock and colored in using the Bronze Blends pen. They were glued behind the snowman. I would think that they could be added before gluing on the second body, sandwiching them in between the two pieces. I may try that when I make my next snowman for a future card. I will also try out the coloring of the second body piece too.

Okay, the trees were die cut, you need three. You need to take your bronze Blends pen and color the stem. I would think that the Crumb Cake marker would give you close to the same color, same for the arms. And you could even cut the arms from Crumb Cake card stock. And maybe the trees too.

I did not have the Evening Evergreen Blends pen so I used my ink pad to slid over the branches and a little bit on the trunk so it didn't look like the branches were missing up the trunk. 

The middle tree was glued in place first. Then the snow mounds piece. Then the other two trees. 

The bird was stamped using Tahitian Tide ink and the beak was avoided. I actually put my fingernail over it while I inked the bird. I was surprised that the ink came off my fingernail so quickly.  The beak was colored in using Crushed Curry, though I would have preferred Daffodil Delight or Pumpkin Pie. The bird was set in the third tree using a tiny Dimensional.

Next the snowman was set in place using Dimensionals. The video tells you to put a Dimensional over the arm areas to help hold them in place. Another reason for them being added before the second snowman piece is glued on.

I'm kind of lost here in all the stuff you need to do to get this card made!! LOL  I forgot to mention that when I die cut the snowflake frame, I also cut a piece of acetate for the window. I glued it in place and set it a side. You want this dry before you need it. Then the double sided sticky foam strips were set in place all around the frame. To add the frame to the snowman piece, you need to add your sequins or snow stuff on the snowman piece and then bring in the front piece. It's probably best to stand up to do this so you can see it will be set evenly all around. Though you can do some trimming off of any thing that didn't line up. I've done that when I've made these cards. 

The words were added to the bottom right corner. Mine are from the retired "Petite Pairs" set because I didn't have the set that was used on the original card. I used the oval die from the "Mini Pocket" envelope die. I can't wait to play with more than just the oval from that die cut set!

I glued my piece to the front of the card and I added a couple of snowflakes to the front that were die cut from the set.  And the card was done.

I hope I was able to explain it well enough, but there's the video you can watch to clarify anything I missed or explained differently.

Wonderful World, Artistically Inked, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

I have always liked these corner flip cards. They are easy to make and give a fun look too.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Rich Razzleberry card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left. 

To make the flip part you just need to get your paper cutter out and set your card stock on it with the long side on the cutter, line up the left edge at 3".  Line your cutting blade up at 2-1/5" and cut down to 4-7/8".  Then turn it clockwise so the shorter edge is on the top and line the left edge up at 3". Line your cutting blade at 3" and cut up to 5/8".  I like to score my piece before I fold the corner over. I just take my rule rand line up across the corners and score on the two small areas. You don't need to do this, I just find I get a better fold when I that.  You can just push that bottom part of the half-square you cut inward and upward, close the card and then press the flipped part down.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Wonderful World" 12" x 12" package. I love it that they named the DSP the same as the stamp set so I can easily see which set it goes to. Not that I can't use it for a different set but I can quickly find it when looking for it while using this set.  Anyway, I cut the DSP at 4" x 5-1/4".  I marked the top left at 5/8" and the right side at 3-1/2".  Then I used my cutter and cut off that corner so the piece would fit nicely under that flap. I taped the DSP in place on the front of the card. I didn't take note that the angled edge would be showing on the other side before taping. I was planning on adding on adding a 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" piece to cover that opening anyway, so I was just careful when I pressed the DSP in place, I opened my card to do that so it wouldn't stick to the inside of my card and tape my card shut! I added thee 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" piece to the inside and I was ready to decorate the front.

I cut a 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" piece of DSP for the square. It's actually the backside of the floral DSP I had just taped down for the front.

The flower is from the "Wonderful World" set and was stamped using Garden Green and Melon Mambo ink on the flower. I set up a piece of Basic White card stock in my Stamperatus, I masked off the stem and stamped the flower and then I masked the flower and stamped the stem. I prefer to do it this way instead of using markers. One reason is I find this kind of stamping ruins my markers and I get a better coverage with an ink pad. Plus I can ink again if I need to.  But that's a personal preference. Once the flower was inked, I die cut it using the 2-1/8" circle die from the "Layering Circles" die set. I set the flower in place using Dimensionals.

The words are from the "Artistically Inked" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I cut them out using the die from the "Rectangle Stitched" framelits die set. I set them in place using Dimensionals.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White was added to the inside and before I send this card off, I am going to use a couple of glue dots to hold the flap down. I like it to be nice and flat. In the photo it's not stuck down and it looks fine, I just like to have mine lay flatter.

And that's it. It's a very fun and easy card to make once you get the hang of how it works. If you are leery of trying it, use a half-sheet of scrap copier paper first and you will feel confident enough to move onto card stock!

Santa's Delivery, Santa Express, Christmas Card, Split Circle Technique, Stampin' Up!

I had forgotten about the fun "Split Circle" technique. I think I may have done it once but it would have to have been a long time ago because I don't recall. I did try to do a search on my blog and nothing came up, so maybe I never did try one.  But at my age, I forget and somethings I do is new to me!!! LOL  Just being happy doing what I'm doing. So how was this card made? 

First I took a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock for my base. This card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. 

Next I cut a Granny Apple Green 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Brights Collection" 6" x 6" stack. I love buying those stacks because you get all the colors in several designs. I never seem to use them all up before they retire though. I taped this piece on top of the card base.

Then I cut a 3" x 4-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock for the top layer. I taped this piece on top of the DSP.

For the fun wavy pieces, I die cut circles using the "Stylish Shapes" stitched circles dies. I used the second, third and fourth largest dies. The DSP is from the "Santa Express" 12" x 12" package. When you do this technique, you get two cards because you cut the circles in half. I cut one large dotted and one large striped. I cut two of the red but I really only needed one if I was going to make just one card.  And then I cut one of the striped paper using the 4th smallest die and one of the dotted using that same die. For the circle the penguin is on, I used the second smallest die in the set and I scrubbed on some Granny Apple Green ink using my blending brush.

The words are from the "Santa's Delivery" set and were stamped on a 3/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock using Poppy Parade ink. And the Granny Apple Green layer behind it was cut at 1" x 4-1/4". I taped the strips together.

The penguin is from the "Santa's Delivery" set and was stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White. I die cut it using the matching die. I colored him in using the following markers, Basic Gray, Pumpkin Pie, and Blushing Bride (for the tongue). I added Dimensionals to the back and set it aside.

Now to assemble the half circles. I included a picture of how mine looked, though these are upside down. Sorry. But you get the idea. When I was first gluing the circles together (yes, I used glue because I wanted to have that movement on the DSP before the glue set so I could get them lined up nicely on the straight edge), you want to make sure you glue them in the right direction. If you were to turn the bottom piece 180 degrees, you'd see that the circles are lined up on the same side. Lay them out first before you glue. And when you glue, just make sure the corner tips line up and the top cut edges line up. It can be a hair off because that edge will be hidden by a word strip.  So, once I got my circles together I set them in place on top of the Basic White piece. I eyed them so the top and bottom were fairly equal and the same for the sides. Then I taped the pieces in place. I made sure the red centers lined up with each other and the rest just fall into place.

Next the word piece went over the top of the half circles. Then the little Basic White circle was taped in place. The penguin was then added to the circle.

I added a few red rhinestones to the front and the card was done.

This was a very fun card to make. I love the look of it and I think this is something I would do again in the near future.

Happiness Abounds, Hues of Happiness, Birthday Card,

I have not done the "Floating" technique in a while. I had done a "Floating Frame" card a while back. You can see that card here. You can get more details on how do make it too.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Highland Heather card stock for the layer. Then I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White for the top layer.

I die cut my flowers and leaves from the "Hues of Happiness" 12" x 12" package of Designer Series Paper (DSP).  I used the largest stitched circle from the "Stylish Shapes" die set. 

The flowers and leaves were place around a circle I traced onto a piece of card stock. I traced the outside of the circle only. The flowers and leaves were added using one Dimensional on each and I exposed the sticky part a little bit so it stayed in place. Then I die cut it with the circle die. 

Next I placed the pieces on the 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White card stock. I did lightly trace a circle on it too. I erased it as I put the pieces in place. If you read the instructions on the link I posted above, Press n Seal was used. I didn't use it, I just winged it. I set the pieces in place using additional Dimensionals.  Everything is added with Dimensionals.

Once done putting the pieces in the circle and erasing the traced circle, I stamped the words on the front of the card. They are from the "Happiness Abounds" set using black Memento ink.  

I didn't like the look of the background so I thought I would speckle it using my Old Olive marker. I just flicked the tip of the marker from the inside edge of the cap to the outside. I covered the circle with the first circle I had die cut so it didn't get speckles on it.  

The Basic White piece was taped to the Highland Heather piece and that was set in place on the card base using Dimensionals and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make. It's also a fun technique to do too!

Artistically Inked, Thank You Card, One Sheet Wonder Technique, Stampin' Up!

I have not done a "One Sheet Wonder" in a long time. When I've done them I've often just used a half sheet of card stock but here I used a full sheet. It was quick and easy and I got 4 cards out of the deal!  I found this card here. 

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Fresh Freesia card stock for the layer.  Then I took a half-sheet of Soft Sea Foam and I cut it into 8 strips so I could tape one to each side of the card. I only needed a hair of it showing.  So you can cut your strips as small as 1/2" each. 

To make my "One Sheet Wonder" I took a full sheet of Basic White card stock and stamped all over it. The  "Artistically Inked" stamp set was used here. I used Flirty Flamingo for the larger flowers. Highland Heather was used for the smaller flower and a really small flower was stamped on the inside of the Flirty Flamingo flowers. The leaves were stamped using Soft Sea Foam ink. And the dots were stamped using black Memento ink.

The "thanks" is from the same set and was stamped using black Memento ink. I cut my sheet to 3-3/4" x 5-1/8".  The Soft Sea Foam strips were cut at 5-1/8" long x 1/2".  And the Highland Heather piece was cut at 4" x 5-1/4".

I taped the Soft Sea Foam Strips to the "One Sheet Wonder" piece. Then I tied a ribbon around it. I like to wrap the ribbon around the piece (the ribbon is about 6" long. I use snail tape first and than add scotch tape to make sure it stays in place. Then that piece was taped to the Highland Heather piece and then that was taped to the card base.

A piece of ribbon was slipped under the taped ribbon and a knot was tied.  And the card was done!

Not only is it a "One Sheet Wonder" but a quick one at that too!  Now I have 4 cards that were made in hardly any time at all! And I love the colors. I'm SO ready for spring colors. All of our snow is melted but it's still very brown out there. 

This was a very fun card to make and I really like "One Sheet Wonders"!

I LIKE IT!!!  Not too often do I finish a card and immediately like it.  They often have to grow on me or wait until I start writing my post with it on my screen to really "see" the card.  But this one I liked right away and still like it.  I've made plenty of "Polaroid" technique cards but this one is one I just REALLY like!  Ok, now let me tell you how I made it so you can make one too!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Misty Moonlight card stock and taped it to the front of the card.

Then the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Penguin Playmates" 12" x 12" package was cut at 4" x 5-1/4" and taped to onto the Misty Moonlight card stock. 

For the Polaroid technique you just cut the Basic White piece at 3" x 3-3/4".  I like to add a layer behind mine so it stands out better. That piece is Misty Moonlight and was cut at 3-1/8" x 3-7/8".  I set these pieces aside. I needed to stamp on them.

For the center of the Polaroid piece, I cut a piece of Misty Moonlight card stock at 2-1/4" x 2-1/4".  Then I cut the DSP at 2-3/8" x 2-3/8".  I taped the two pieces together.

I die cut a snowflake from the "Stitched Snowflakes" die set using Basic White card stock.

Then I die cut the penguin using the 1-1/8" circle die from the Circle Dies set. I wanted a border behind it but the next larger size circle was too big, so I grabbed the smallest scalloped circle and used that. I die cut it from a scrap piece of Misty Moonlight card stock.  I taped the two circles together.

I set the squares on top of the "Polaroid" piece so I could see where the words would go. I wanted some long words, something that would fill up that area.  The "Merry Christmas" from the "Snowman Season" set did just that, with just a bit of room to spare! I stamped them using Misty Moonlight ink.

Next I taped the square in place on top of the "Polaroid" piece. Then I taped the snowflake in place. I just added tape to the center of it. It's not going to show.  Dimensionals were added to the back of the cute penguin circle layers and I centered it as much as I could over the snowflake.

The Polaroid piece was set in place using Dimensionals and the card was done.

This was a very fun card to make and once again, I REALLY like it! I love the colors and the layout!

Hand-Penned, Art Gallery, Congratulations Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog, Book Technique

I made a book technique card a little over a week ago. I like this technique, it's fun and easy.  Plus it's different. I found this card on the internet. You can see the original card here.  

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  I scored it at 3-1/4", 4-1/4" and 5-1/4". 

I taped a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Hand-Penned" 12" x 12" package. And then I taped a 1" x 5-1/2" piece of Pale Papaya card stock to the left side. 

Now I actually remembered to wrap and tie the black Baker's twine around the front left side before I glued the piece closed!  I used Tombow glue to hold the left side of the card closed.

Next I stamped the flower from the "Hand-Penned" set using black Memento ink on Basic White card stock.  Then I die cut it using the matching die. Then I colored the flowers with the light Daffodil Delight Blends pen and I colored the center of the bottom flower and a bit of details using the dark Daffodil Delight Blends pen. The leaves were colored in using the dark Soft Sea Foam Blends pen. Then I taped the flower in place.

The words are from the "Hand-Penned Petals" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using black Memento ink. I die cut them with the postage stamped edge die from the "Art Gallery" bundle. When I die cut them, I made sure they were really close to the left side of the die. I didn't have the dies that were used on the original card. I also cut a 1-3/4" x 2-1/2" piece of Basic Black card stock and taped the words to it. I taped the words to the layer and I set it on top of the card to see how much I needed to trim off on the right side.  Once it was trimmed, I used Dimensionals to set it in place on the front of the card.

A few "Genial Gems" were added to the card and it was done. 

This was a quick and easy card to make. I do prefer a bit more colorful background but it's still nice.

Beautiful Friendship, Peaceful Moments, Thank You Card

I thought I'd give the "One Sheet Wonder" technique another try. Why not since I hadn't put the stamp sets away yet.  LOL Like I put things away right away!!! 

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I took the larger double rose image from the "Beautiful Friendship" set and stamped it around the edges using Daffodil Delight ink. I stamped it in various directions.  I didn't keep the upper part open like I did when I made yesterday's "One Sheet Wonder".  

Next I stamped the same flowers using Crushed Curry ink. I stamped in the open areas and I stamped over the Daffodil Delight images too.  

The leaves were stamped using Pear Pizzazz ink. They were stamped once and then again before inking it up again. That is where you get the soft muted colors.

This was a quick and easy way to make a fun background image. 

 I cut my piece 1-7/8" x 4-5/8". I made three cards and there was still a nice size piece left for a future card or for my stash so I can run across it someday and whip up a card in no time. I also cut a 2" x 4-3/4" piece of Basic Black card stock for the layer. I didn't tape them together yet.

The words are from the "Peaceful Moments" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock and were stamped using black Memento.  I die cut them using a stitched oval die. I die cut the scalloped layer from the Basic Black layer I cut for the rose strip. No one will know there's an oval cut from that strip. Or you can use a piece of scrap Basic Black card stock. 

Two 4" x 5-1/4" pieces of Basic White card stock was cut. One for the inside of the card and one for the front.  I textured the front piece using the "Ornate Floral" embossing folder. I glued this to the front of the Basic Black card base.

Next I taped the floral strip and the Basic Black layer together and glued them in place. 

I taped the ovals together and added Dimensionals to the back. I set the oval in place on the front of the card and the card was done. 

What is fun with this layout is you can use it with different orientations. You can put the long strip at the top, like I did here. Or you can put it at the bottom. You can also turn the card so it opens on the right and add the words towards the top, or middle, or bottom. I would use larger words if you're going to do it that way. I made two like the one pictured and one with the words at the top and the panel at the bottom. I liked the panel at the top much better. 

This stamp set is going to be retiring soon and it will be added to my web store sometime in the near future.

Beautiful Friendship, Good Morning Magnolia, Thinking of You Card, One Sheet Wonder Card Technique

I have not done a "One Sheet Wonder" (OSW) in years. I found this one on Pinterest and thought I would give it a try. You can see the original card here. I ruined the first one because my Blushing Bride ink pad is one of the old fabric ones and the stamp didn't ink up nicely. And it's not like you can do this on the Stamparatus.  Well, I suppose you could but it would take a very long time. I had the stamp on my clear block and I tried to get a nice image but I wasn't having much luck. So I thought I would change colors and it was too dark. Oh, I even changed the color and stamped on top of what I had already stamped and it was SO muddy looking.  UGH.  I wasn't going to give up. I stuck with it and this is what I ended up with.  Usually a OSW is a full sheet of card stock or Designer Series Paper (DSP).  I used a half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  The link also has a video so you can follow along. Here's how I made my cards.

The base of the piece is a half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I used the hydrangea looking image from the "Beautiful Friendship" set and Rococo Rose ink that I stamped off once before stamping on the card stock. Or you can use the Blushing Bride ink pad if you have a nicer pad than mine!  

Next the large rose image was stamped using Seaside Spray ink. It's stamped all over, back to back in some places and over the Rococo Rose images too.

Then the single rose was stamped using So Saffron ink. It's stamped in a lot of the open areas and it's not only a single stamp but a second generation too for that lighter look around the open areas. 

The leaves were stamped using Pear Pizzazz ink and were stamped three times in a row on top of each other but moved up just a little with each stamping. My third generation image didn't show up as well, so I ended up stamping off once and then adding it near the other leaf images.  

And the last thing you stamp is the dots from the "Waterfront" stamp set. So Saffron ink was used to to stamp the dots. 

The words are from the "Good Morning Magnolia" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock and die cut using the second smallest "Stitched Circle" dies. 

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Seaside Spray.  Actually I cut two because this OSW will make two cards. I die cut a scalloped circle from the center using the Circle dies. It's one that is just a bit larger than the Stitched circle die. 

The words were taped to the scalloped circle and Dimensionals were added to the back.

The OSW was first cut in half at 4-1/4".  Then I cut it down to 3-7/8" x 5-1/8". I cut on the flowered edges so I could keep the white open area open. Then they were taped to the Seaside Spray piece and that was taped to the front of the card base.

The words were set in place in the open white area and the card was done.  Rhinestones, sequins, enamel dots or anything else you think would look great can be added around the card for some shimmer.  Even some Wink of Stella would be pretty.

I changed the orientation of one of the cards. I thought it looked better that way. You'll know if you make them. 

This was a fun card to make once I got the colors to work for me. And I do regret not doing a full sheet of card stock to make four super quick cards.

Sweet Strawberries, Art Gallery, Floating Frame Stamping Technique

I found a very beautiful card that used a technique I'd never hears of before.  It's called the "Floating Frame" technique.  It's kind of time consuming but SO worth it. There is a video for you to follow along to make this card. You can see that video here.   I have a few tips for you too.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. But to begin your card you can use a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of card stock. Then you don't have to worry about getting the actual card base dirty. 

You will be stamping all of the elements from the "Sweet Strawberries" set and punching them out. If you don't have the matching punch, you can fussy cut the pieces. I borrowed a friends punch so I could make this card. My punch is on backorder and is not here yet. This is a very popular set. I like it because it will cover several occasions. My strawberries were stamped using Poppy parade ink. The tops were stamped using Garden Green. The leaves were stamped using Granny Apple Green and the flowers were stamped using Flirty Flamingo ink. All of the outline images were stamped using black Memento ink.

Once you have all the pieces stamped and cut out, you need to add the tops to the strawberries. Be sure to glue the two front pieces of the tops down. I added glue to those two pieces and a bit to the top of the strawberry and then put the pieces together. 

Next the pieces were set on top of the Basic White piece. Once all of the pieces were in place you will need to take a piece of Press n Seal or masking paper. I didn't have any masking paper but I had plenty of Press n Seal. I would recommend that you tape the Press n Seal to a piece of copier paper. Cut it 5" x 7" so you have something to hold onto. You will be trimming it down later.  With your copier paper taped to the Press n Seal, you will set the sticky side down on top of the pieces you just laid out.  Turn it over and press the pieces onto the Press n Seal. Now you can trim the piece. I did it on my paper cutter. 

In the video she removes the card base so she could make sure none of the pieces were overlapping. I would do it by feeling the piece first. Don't remove the card stock unless you absolutely have to because you will need to put it back on and I found that a bit difficult to do. I suppose you could draw on the Press n Seal to know where the edges are so you can line it up again. Then you can trim the pieces that are hanging over the edges. Then you remove the card base or the 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of card stock so you can cut the rectangle out of the center. The 5th largest rectangle was used from the "Rectangle Stitched Framelets" set. 

Taking the frame piece (not the center), turn it over and cover all the pieces with Dimensionals.  LOTS of Dimensionals, both large and small and tiny hand cut ones. You want to make sure that these pieces stick when it's time to remove the Press n Seal. 

Once all the Dimensionals are on you remove the backing on them.  Then you will put the piece on top of your card base. 

Wink of Stella was added to the sides of the strawberries and crystal rhinestones were set in place in open areas. 

The words are from the "Sweet Strawberries" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I set the card up in my Staparatus because I don't trust my black ink pad. I was right not to trust it, I had to ink the words twice to get them nice and dark and solid. And that card was done.  But this is a bonus technique because you have that center square that was die cut. 

For the bonus card you will need to die cut two rectangles at the same time. They are the 2nd and 3rd largest stitched rectangles. Basic White card stock was used for this. This piece was then glued to the front of your second card base.  

The rectangle piece was done like the frame piece, Dimensionals all over the place. Then it was set in place on the center of the card. Wink of Stella and rhinestones were added too.

The words are from the "Art Gallery" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. It was trimmed close to the words. It measured 3/8" x 2". A Dimensional was added under the "H" and "p" in Happy and glue was added to the rest of the piece. It was set in place on the front of the card and the card was done.  

Isn't it SO pretty?  I want to just keep them!!! I suppose I should make another one so I can actually use it instead of keep it!  Let's just hope something better comes along and I can let go of these! Give this technique a try. It will work with any images that are around the size of these pieces.

Darling Donkeys, Birthday Card, 2021 Sale-a-Bration, Interactive Card, Technique Card

I have had this card sitting on my computer desktop for a few days now. I have wanted to make it but hadn't had the time. I was hoping that my computer wouldn't need rebooting or I'd lose it because I didn't bother to copy the link to save for later.  I would never do things that would make life easier for me!! LOL Anyway it was on my computer and today I had time to do it.  The link to the card is here and there's a link there to a video on how to make this technique.

I used all the same papers for my card that were in the original card. I did color my donkey a little different and I used ribbon I had on hand that matched.  

This was fun to make and it was pretty easy too.  I do like how it turned out though there would be a few things I'd do differently.  I would add something to the front of the Bermuda Bay rectangle on the front of the card. It's empty and looks like the card isn't finished. I would cut that bottom piece a bit wider so  I could move the donkey over more, thinking that it would allow the donkey to move even more.  

The magnets I used were very thin but they were larger, so I added it to the face of the donkey and not the muzzle.  After making the one I think there would be a way to not have to use the magnets. They are only there because it made it easy to line up the donkey and the white moveable paper. I would think punching out a few 1/4" circles and gluing them together would work. Attach it as you would the magnet and then feel where it is on the card stock and mark it with a pen or a pin, whichever because no one is going to see it.  

I was happy that I got it to work the first time out!  Sometimes I have to redo the technique because of some odd thing I did wrong.  

I think this would be a fun technique to use for a children's card and I will probably give it another try sometime in the future.

I do like that it all fits on a regular size card. Some of these techniques end up too large for a regular card. This was perfect and I like it.

Art Gallery, Thank You, Black Magic Stamping Technique

I found a fun technique to do today. You can see the post on Pinterest by clicking here.  I thought I might have done this technique before. I recall it was with colored pencils but I could be wrong.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.  I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside.

I took a piece of Melon Mambo card stock and die cut it with the 3" x 4-3/8" for the layer and the Basic Black piece was die cut using the third largest stitched rectangle dies.  I put this piece in my Stamparatus and lined up the large flower from the "Art Gallery" set. I stamped it using Whisper White craft ink. You need to let it dry before you stamp over it again.  I used Flirty Flamingo ink to stamp the flower again. This is why you need to put it in your Stamparatus. You need to line up the image.  I did use my heat tool to dry the inks faster. 

There were no instructions on how to do this so this is how I did it. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to add more Whisper White ink for the next step detail but it made sense to me to do it. So I inked it up in the Whisper White and heated up to dry it. Then I stamped the Poppy Parade ink. I used my heat tool to dry it too.  

Next I stamped the leaves and stem using the craft ink and I heat set it to dry. Then I stamped Granny Apple Green over it.  I inked it twice to get it dark enough.  I heat set it to dry it.

Then I stamped the middle piece of the flower using the same method. I used Crushed Curry ink. Once it was dry I used my Tombow glue to add some gold foil. You put the glue down and let it dry. It remains sticky and once it's dry you add the gold flakes. I just pressed them in place and then used a stipple brush to brush away the flakes that didn't stick.  

The words are from the same set and were stamped using Versa Mark and then embossed with gold embossing powder. I heat set it and it turned out beautifully.

I taped the rectangles together and set them in place using Dimensionals.

It didn't turn out the way I thought it would but I do like how it looks.

Sweet Ice Cream, Birthday Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog, Shaker Card Technique

I wanted to play with the "Art Gallery" set again but I thought I should wait a day. I could make cards for weeks using that set and then the other sets I bought would be ignored.  I always say that I hope it ends up in the next catalog, and some do but even when they do I hardly play with them again because I ordered new stuff.  UGH!!!  I have started putting some of my retired sets in my web store, I need to get them out of here to make room for the new stuff I have. My workroom is full and they must go! Look to the right where it reads "My Secure Web Store".  But check back often because it takes me a while to list an item, it's not a quick process. You take photos, write up a description, then you need to put it in an envelope and weigh it. The dimensionals and weight need to be added in the store, the postage part needs to be attached to the post office, photos for the post and gallery have to be in check, plus other things I tend to forget and then it doesn't post so I have to go through it all again!!!  But I eventually get it in there!!!  Goal met!

Okay, onto today's card. I chose to play with the new "Sweet Ice Cream" set and the fun "Ice Cream Corner" Designer Series Paper (DSP).  I rarely bought the DSP that go with the sets because I have tons of DSP but sometimes I just have to. I still have some DSP left from the last time Stampin' Up! had an ice cream cone set. I don't remember what it was called. I probably still have that one too.  Slowly but surely they will end up in my web store.  

First I took a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock and I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Blackberry Bliss to it.  Then I took two different designs of DSP and cut them to 4" x 5-1/4". I cut them that size because I didn't want to ruin my sheet of DSP by cutting odd sizes.  Then I trimmed the DSP to 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" before I cut both pieces at the same time along the diagonal.  You could make two cards with this. I will probably make another card with the pieces but not another shaker card. Maybe!

I taped the DSP to the Blackberry Bliss piece.  Now cutting the pieces together made nice clean lines do I didn't need to hide them with ribbon or card stock.  

I took my oval dies and used the 4th largest scalloped one for the bottom layer. I die cut it from a piece of Whisper White card stock.  I stamped the words from the "Kangaroo & Company" set using black Memento ink. I needed some smaller wording than what came in the "Sweet Ice Cream" set. I wanted to keep it a birthday theme. The Happy Birthday in the set is beautiful but it's too big for my card.  

Next I die cut a oval using Whisper White card stock and the 4th largest plain oval. I also die cut a clear piece using that same die. Then I die cut the Whisper White oval again using the next smaller oval so I had an oval frame.

I glued the window piece to the frame piece. Than I added foam strips all around enclose the circle. 

The cute confetti type pieces are the new "Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles".  Aren't they cute?  I had tons of other things I could have added but these were just too stinking cute to pass up.  So when I was ready to put the frame on the scalloped oval piece, I put my sprinkles down on the scalloped piece, in the center. you want to make sure the pieces are laying there flat. They are just a little too tall and if they are standing on end, they will be stuck in place. I had to run a toothpick under the foam tape and try to get them to lay down.  Once that was done, I pressed the foam tape firmly to the card stock to make sure it would stick forever!!!  Then I glued the oval piece to the front of the card.

I stamped the cone using Cajun Craze ink because I do not have any Cinnamon Cider ink.  Though I thought I might have a cube of it but if I do, I don't know where it is. Well, I kind of know where it might be but I don't want go to digging!!  Stuff falls over when I do that.  LOL I stamped the lines on the cone using Soft Suede ink.

The ice cream was stamped using Bermuda Bay ink and the dots were also done using Bermuda Bay ink. I added tape to the back of the ice cream and stuck the cone to it. Then I set it on top of the oval for placement. I marked the area lightly with a pencil, though you could mark it with anything as long as you mark further inside so it won't show. I added glue to the oval between my pencil marks and then I set the ice cream cone in place. I slipped a couple of Dimensionals under the ice cream where I thought it could use some support.  And the card was done.

These shaker cards take a bit more time to make than a regular layered card but it was SO worth it. I think it turned out great.

Gorgeous Posies, Get Well Card, December 2020 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card, Stamping Technique

Today I still had the Paper Pumpkin bug. I wanted to make just one more card using the December 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit before I move on to something else.  I have made this "Arrow Fold" technique card before. You can find the directions here.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Calypso Coral card stock. This card is folded in half on the 8-1/2" side.

The "Arrow Fold" technique is a lot easier than it looks.  You just find the center of the front of the card (with the fold at the top) mark the sides at 2-1/8" on each side and then again at 2-3/4" on each side.  You do this lightly with a pencil.  Then you score from the top fold line on the edge of the 8-1/2" side and down to the center mark on the edge of the 5-1/2" side, repeat for the other side. Then score at the 2-1/8" mark to the center mark.  Repeat for the other side. 

Paying attention to which side is the front of your card, fold the long score line inward and the shorter one outward.  Use your bone folder to get those lines as crisp as possible.  

Then you will need to glue those folds down. Make sure you pay attention because it's easy to add glue where it doesn't need to be and you will glue your card shut.

For the Designer Series Paper (DSP) I used the inside of one of the envelopes that came in the Paper Pumpkin kit. This piece is cut at 4" x 5".  Mark the center at 2-1/2 on the bottom.  Cut the piece from that mark on the bottom to the top right tip.  Repeat for the other side. You now have three triangles, 2 small and one large. Keep them in order.  You will also need to cut a piece of Whisper White card stock for the inside and cut it the same way. You only need the larger triangle.  Though you could use the smaller ones instead of the DSP ones. I liked it better with the DSP.  

Now all you do is glue or tape those triangles in place.  

I took a piece of the back of one of the cards in the kit that was left over from yesterday's card and I cut 1/4" strips.  They each measured 3-7/8", 3-1/4" and 2-1/4" long.  I taped them in place on the front of the card. I started taping it 5/8" from the top and I used the strips as a guide for the placement of the next strip, and so on.  

The bear is from the kit and was set in place using Dimensionals.

On the inside triangle I stamped the "Get well soon" words from the "Gorgeous Posies" set using Calypso Coral ink. I taped the triangle in place and the card was done.

I do like how these "Arrow Fold" technique cards look but I don't like that I only have a triangle in the center to write on. So I was thinking about using a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of card stock and attach a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of DSP to the front and then tape whole arrow part to it. Then the card would open like a regular card and the inside would be a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock.  This card would have more layers than doing it the regular way but it gives you the option to having a full card instead of a folded front card.  But don't get me wrong, I do like how this looks and it's not the first one I made!!

Life is Beautiful, Here's a Card, Birthday Card, 2020 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I made a card on Monday. You can see that card here.  I used the Baby Wipes technique. That's where you add ink drops to a baby wipe and use it as a stamp pad. After I made my card on Monday I thought I'd make a few tree cards and use the ink on the baby wipe a bit more. It would have been such a waste to only use it for one card. 

Had I not done the card on Monday, I might not have made this card.  And I did make 6 of these cards. I wanted to feel like I got the most use out of those dots of ink. 

I took a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock and I stamped the tree from the "Life is Beautiful" stamp set using Early Espresso ink. 

I took the leaves from the same set and inked them up on the baby wipe that I had added the drops of ink to. I had used Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Garden Green and Rich Razzleberry inks. I taped the image over the same spot on the baby wipe to ink it up. If you move the stamp around you can pick up other colors and as they blend together you can end up with muddy looking leaves. You can stamp in different areas of the baby wipe on the next inking.  I just added that because I didn't want you to think you needed to ink up the image in the same spot all the time.  Just for that inking and then move it to another spot for the next one and so on.  Like I said, I made 6 cards but I could have made more, there was plenty of ink on the baby wipe.  Oh and I only added 5 drops from each color. 5 drops in different spots on the baby wipe. I hope I explained that clearly.

The words are from the "Here's a Card" set. It's kind of my go to birthday words. I like the fonts and the size is perfect. I stamped them using Rich Razzleberry ink. I did have to heat set it, it just doesn't seem to dry enough to work with right away. I die cut the words using the second largest Stitched oval dies and I die cut a Cajun Craze scalloped oval using the oval dies. I taped the two together and I set them in place on front of the card using Dimensionals.  And the card was done.  

This is a very quick and simple card to make. I LOVE the colors of the leaves.  They certainly do have a fall look to them.  And where I live, the trees are bare.  There are no more leaves in our yard. Our maple dropped it's leaves a couple of weeks ago.  But the three did give our rooms a nice bright orange glow during the day.  So any colorful leaves from now on will be on paper!
