Velvet Meadow, Banner Saying, All Aflutter, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how I made it.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Cloud Cover card stock for the largest layer. On top of that is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Velvet Meadow" 12" x 12" package. I cut the piece in half and turned one around so the backside is showing. I taped both pieces down.

Then I cut a 2-3/4" x 3-1/2" piece of Cloud Cover card stock and a 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" piece of DSP from the same package was taped on top of that. I added Dimensionals behind it and set it in place on the front of the card, centering it as much as I could by eyeing it.

I took a piece of Basic White card stock and cut out one of the dies from the "Sweet Words & Labels" die set. I taped it to the top of the Cloud Cover centered layer.

I fussy cut the flowers and leaves from a sheet of the same DSP. I didn't buy the dies so I have to fussy cut but it's okay, it doesn't take long. I taped down the double flower first. Then the large piece was added using Dimensionals. I never press down right away on pieces with Dimensionals in case I need to slide a leaf or words under it.

The words are from the "Banner Sayings" set and were cut out using the "Three Banner" punch.  I added tape to it and slipped it under the larger flower.

Using a little glue on the ends of the leaves I slipped them under the flowers.

The butterfly is from the "All Aflutter" set. I stamped it on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using Berry Burst ink. I cut it out using the matching punch. I added a Dimensional to the back and set it in place on the card.

For the bling I added three pieces from the "Loose Frosted Dots" (retired) container and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and even though it's not exactly like the original card, I still like how it looks.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
