The first thing I did was I folded a half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. Claire used Secret Sea, which is SO close to black. I have limited sheets and don't want to use them right now, they don't expire until 2027 and I don't plan on purchasing a full package of that color because I don't see needing it much at all. And where I do need it I think I can get by with Basic Black.
The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Traditions of Christmas" 12" x 12" package. The strips are 7/8" wide and two are cut at 4-3/16" each and the other two are cut at 2-15/16". If you use metric, she also gives those measurements. She has a printed image of the measurements. I may make one of copier paper to have it in my stack of layouts.
The center piece measures 2" x 3-1/4". I textured my piece using the corrugated embossing folder (retired) using Basic White card stock. Then I trimmed it to 2" x 3-1/4". If I textured after cutting it would be shorter from the top to bottom.
I don't have the die so I had to fussy cut the flowers from the "Traditions of Christmas". I should have checked my stash because I already had one cut but I look at it that I still have a pre-cut one on hand! I added Dimensionals to the back of the piece.
A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black was cut and then the pieces were taped in place. I glued the corrugated piece in place. The flowers were set on top of the corrugated piece.
The words are from the "Greetings for You Mix & Match Ephemera Pack". They are actually a sticker. I removed the backing and set the words in place.
Dimensionals were added to the back of the Basic Black piece and it was set in place on the front of the card base.
I had some retired embellishments and I added them to the front of the card and the card is done.
This was a very fun card to make and I really do like this layout. Though I struggle with getting the spacing right.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Christmas card,
Wanda
