Friendly Foliage, Thinking of You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a super sweet card to share with you. The original card was made by Terri Gaines. She has a video on how to make it and you can see that by clicking here.  After you watch the video, please give her a thumbs up, I know she's appreciate it. She has lots of good tips to share there too. Please read on to see how I put it together.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I love how Terri opened her card to make sure the fold is on the left. I have made the mistake of not checking many times and have an upside down card.  UGH! I am trying to follow her tip on that and make a habit of opening the card first.  Old habits die hard!

Next I cut the Basic Black piece. Her's was done using Secret Sea card stock but mine is limited so I opted for Basic Black. Plus I still had some sitting on my table from yesterday's card.  That piece measures 3-3/4" x 5" and the Basic White piece was textured using the "Exposed Brick" embossing folder and then cut 3-1/4" x 4-1/2".  I taped the layers together.

Then the image was stamped on Basic White card stock. Again I used black Memento ink instead of Secret Sea.  This was then set on top of a thin foam sheet.

In the "Friendly Foliage" bundle where the image for the sprigs were stamped you will find dies. There's one that cut out the framed area and one that cut out the center. They were both set in place and cut.  There's some picking out of pieces left behind but it's pretty easy. Terri does a great job in showing how she does that.

The piece was set on the center of the card. I just eyed it.  The words are from the same bundle and were stamped using black Memento ink.  They were cut out using the largest ribbon end dies in the "Stylish Shapes" set. The end and sides were trimmed a set in place on the front of the card.  You use scrap pieces from cutting the image out to pop up the words. And that was it. Terri explains it a lot better and she has a link to purchase the bundle if you're interested. And BONUS, she has a free PDF project sheet for you to download!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's thinking of you card,
Wanda
