Peaceful Garden, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a simple, quick and easy card to share with you. I found it on Pinterest. You can see the original card by clicking here. I made a couple of changes to it. One unintentional. Please read on to see what that kerfuffle is all about! LOL

The base of the card is a half-sheet of Secret Sea card stock. My card opens on the right and the fold is on the bottom. The original card opens on the bottom.

A 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Cloud Cover card stock was cut for the layer. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Peaceful Garden" 12" x 12" package. I taped that to the Cloud Cover piece and then that was taped to the card base.

The words are from the "Peaceful Garden" bundle. It was stamped on a piece of Basic White card stock using Night of Navy ink. Kerfuffle. It should have been Secret Sea ink. I didn't buy the ink pads but I do buy the ink refills and the cubes so I have the ink in just a smaller version.  It saves money and if I want/need, I can rinse out the ink pad and use it for a different color down the road. If you do this, use a dark color ink just in case it could pick up some pigment left in the stain the ink leaves on the pad. Okay, money saving tip given and moving on!  The words were cut out using the second largest square in the "Stylish Shapes" set. If you don't have this set the piece measures 2-3/8" x 2-3/8" and you can cut yours on the paper cutter.

The silver layer measures 2-1/2" x 2-1/2".  I didn't have any silver glitter paper from Stampin' Up! but what I did have was a silver glitter table runner from the Dollar Tree.  I added a sticky sheet to a piece of Basic White card stock and then stuck the glittered piece to it.  It did NOT stick! So I ended up gluing it.  Glue was my friend today!  I also glued the word piece to the glittered piece.  Once set up I added Dimensionals to the back and set the piece in place on the front of the card. I used equal spacing from left to right and about 1-1/4" from the top edge.

I die cut the leaves from the bundle using a scrap piece of Secret Sea card stock. Tiny amounts of glue was added to each leaf and it was set in place on the front of the card.  And that was it.

I just LOVE the looks of this sheet of DSP. The doves are SO pretty. I plan on saving a piece to make a sympathy card with it.  The bundle has sympathy words.  And I plan to keep the doves dies forever because they are SO versatile.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Christmas card,
Wanda
