I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Paper Medley" 12" x 12" package and I taped it to the card base.
Next I cut a 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" piece of Basic White card stock and used that as the base for the other pieces.
I cut three strips of DSP (it's on the backside of the larger piece I taped down) and they measure 1" x 2-1/2" each. And the bottom piece measures 2" x 3-1/4". I taped the bottom piece on first allowing equal space on the sides and bottom.
Then I added the two outside strips and the center one last. I butted the bottoms of those strips to the piece I just taped down.
A 3/16" strip of Petal Pink card stock covered the part where those strips meet the bottom piece.
Using the ""Rounded Rectangle" punch I punched a piece of Petal Pink. I set it aside.
The koala bear is from the "Wild Bunch" set and was stamped using black Memento ink (because I haven't found my Basic Black hybrid ink yet. I fussy cut the koala and then colored him using Blends pens. I used one I had called Ivory. I colored the fur with it. Then I went over parts of the fur with light Pecan Pie and added highlights using the dark Pecan Pie. The ears were colored in using light and dark Petal Pink and the nose was colored in using light and dark Gray Granite. When I make another one I think I will opt to using Smoky Slate instead of the Gray Granite. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the Petal Pink rectangle.
Dimensionals were added to the back of the rectangle and I laid it on the card (I didn't remove the backing on the Dimensionals).
The words are from the "Cutest Crew" bundle and were stamped using black Memento ink. I had stamped them on a piece that was already cut from the "Three Banner" punch. I would much rather stamp then punch because I get it straighter but I had the piece (I have a bunch of pieces) so I thought I should use it. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was laid out on the front of the card.
Once I had everything were I liked it, I removed the backing from the Dimensionals and pressed the pieces in place.
This was a fun card to make and I really loved playing with all of the layers and pieces. I didn't find many cards on Pinterest using the "Wild Bunch" set yet, it's still pretty new so inspiration was difficult to find. I ended up taking out a card sketch and working from there.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
