Banner Sayings, Waterside Retreat, Masculine or Teen Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I made another card using the "Waterside Retreat" 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP). Terri has a great video on how to use every image on the one sheet in particular from that package of DSP. I was thrilled to see this video because there were some pieces on that sheet that I thought would just end up still in the package. I was happy to have seen this card. You can see her video here.  Please read on to see how I put it together.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut the shell image from the sheet of DSP. The edges were torn and rolled forward a bit. But once it was taped down the edges didn't stay rolled. I probably should have ripped the DSP more but it's okay, I like the look I got.

On the backside of the DSP with the fish on it is the water/waves image. I cut my piece at 4" x 3". I cut that in half to measure 4" x 1-1/2".  I took a quarter sheet of copier paper and I taped the pieces to it using the 3rd largest die in the "Branching Out" die set. I added tape to the middle piece and set it on top of the copier paper but I didn't press down on on it. With the die sitting next to the lightly taped piece, I added tape to the other two pieces and slipped them under the shell piece a little. Then I pressed down on the three pieces. I cut them out with that 3rd die.

Using the 2nd largest die, I cut a piece of Basic White card stock and colored the edges using my blending brush and Misty Moonlight ink. I taped the two pieces together and then taped that to the front of the card.

I from other sheets in the package, I fussy cut the paddles, floating device and three bobbers (I think they are bobbers).

I taped the floating device in the center area. Then the paddles were added using Dimensionals. And then I set the bobbers in place with Dimensionals.

The words are from the "Banner Sayings" using Basic Black hybrid ink and punched them out using the "Three Banner" punch. I set it in place using Dimensionals and the card was done.

I like the looks of the card but more so, I'm thrilled that I was able to use a piece of DSP that I thought I would never be using! How fun is that?

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's masculine birthday card,
Wanda
