Velvet Meadow, Banner Sayings, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and hte fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Peaceful Pine card stock for the largest layer. From that piece I cut the circle for the back layer on the two circles. I used the 4th largest die in the "Stylish Shapes" set. Using the 3rd largest circle die I cut the piece from the "Velvet Meadow" 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP). I taped the two circles together.

A 5" x 3-3/4" piece of DSP from the same package was cut and taped to the Peaceful Pine layer. Then that was taped to the card base.

The circle piece was glued in place on the front of the card.

I fussy cut three flowers and 6 leaves from another sheet of DSP in the same package. I set the pieces aside while I stamped the words.

The "Happy Birthday" is from the "Banner Sayings" set and was stamped using Basic Black hybrid ink. I punched them out using the "Three Banner" punch.  I set the word piece in place using Dimensionals.

The flowers and leaves were tucked around the word piece and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make. I love those flowers on top of the velvet background piece. I had cut all the leaves and wasn't sure if I was going to use them but once I got the flowers in place the leaves were a necessity because of the gaps that were showing. The lower flower on the top isn't a whole flower so that's why it was easy to tuck it under the word piece but there was an odd gap between those two flowers and the leaves came in handy.

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
