Wildflower Birthday, Simply Said, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you using the "Wildflower Birthday" 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP). I found this card on Pinterest. You can see it here. I only made a few minor changes. There was no link to the instructions so please read on to see how I put the card together.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. The original card used a half-sheet of Pretty in Pink card stock. Since I have so much Basic White and it's (was) a lot cheaper than the colored card stock I tend to make the card bases white and use the colors as a layer. Plus that way I don't have to cut and tape a piece of white to the inside.

I am on a quest to use up my package of "Wildflower Birthday" DSP. I have SO much of it. I had bought a package and then a couple of months back I went to a Stamp Camp and we used the same DSP and were giving a whole package of it in our kit. SO, I have lots of sheets to use up. This card has a lot of DSP on it so that was a nice start to using it up.

On top of the Pretty in Pink card stock that was cut 4" x 5-1/4" is a piece of the DSP that measures 3-3/4" x 5".  Now if you don't have enough of that color you can cut it in two and put one on the upper part of the Pretty in Pink layer and the other on the bottom. If it's still a bit short you can always make that center part wider. Once that was taped to the front of the card I worked on the center part.

That center DSP part measures 3-3/4" x 2-3/4" and the Pretty in Pink layer behind it measures 3" x 4".  I taped the DSP center piece to the Pretty in Pink layer I just cut. Then I taped that to the front of the card I added the bouquet. It's from another sheet in the package. This sheet is full of pop/punch out images. There's just a little bit of perforation around the pieces to hold them onto the sheet. I just popped the bouquet out and added Dimensionals to the back. I set the bouquet in place on the front of the card.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using Blueberry Bushel ink on a piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the die in the "Stylish Shapes" set. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card.  I should have moved my bouquet up and over a little bit more to get the words up higher on the card.  It's okay where it is but I like the way it was done on the original card better. I added a bow using some retired ribbon I had and that was it.

This was a fun and quick card to make. SO pretty!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
