Sunrise Sailing, The Right Words, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I found a great masculine card on Pinterest that I thought I'd give a try. There was a link to the site it came from but there were no instructions, so I made it the way I wanted to. You can see that original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock, it opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock for top layer. Using the "Sunrise Sailing bundle, the first thing I did was I stamped the boat using black Memento ink. The water was stamped next. I used Pool Party ink for that. Then I stamped the sails using Real Red ink. The bottom of the boat part was stamped using Pecan Pie ink. I didn't get the piece lined up so there was white showing on the very bottom so I took my Pecan Pie maker and colored it in. Problem solved and you wouldn't have noticed had I not said anything.

The words are from "The Right Words" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. Then the birds were added.

I took the embossing folder that is in the bundle and I lined up the boat with the impressed image in the folder. I ran it through my embossing machine and it textured the boat, water and sky. How fun was that?  Oh and that was it for creating this card. All I had to do was to glue the piece to the card base. And the card was done!

This was such a quick and simple card to make. I do like how it turned out. I love the red stripes on the sail. Your eye is drawn right to the sails, it keeps them focused on the center of the card. Then your eye moves down to the water and then up to the birds.  Am I right?

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's masculine birthday card,
Wanda
