The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
My piece of DSP is from the "Bloom Impressions" 12" x 12" package. This was a free Sale-a-Brations item. This piece was sitting on my worktable just waiting to be used. It measured 1-7/8" wide and I trimmed it to 5-1/4" long. Now here's the beauty of this card. You can take your scrap piece and make it work. If your piece is narrower or wider you can make it work. Just cut it to 5-1/4" long. The textured piece will make up the difference.
The textured piece here was made using the embossing folder from the "Beautiful Butterflies" bundle and a piece of Basic White card stock. I cut it 2" wide by 5-1/4" long. I taped the DSP to the left and I glued the textured piece to the right.
I also had this circle on my worktable so I thought I'd try to make it work too. It's from the "Stylish Shapes" set. I had used the second largest die when I had cut it. I stamped the "birthday wishes" from the "Simply Said" set using black Memento ink. I stamped it on the lower part of the circle so I could add a butterfly to the upper part.
The butterflies were cut using the same "Beautiful Butterflies" bundle using Basic White card stock. These little butterflies have a cute little body too. I glued the body on the two butterflies I cut. Oh and the die set has two butterflies and two little bodies so you only had to run it through the machine once. Dimensionals were added to the back and they were set aside.
I set the circle in place using Dimensionals and then the butterflies were added. Two little pearls were added to the bodies and the card was done.
This was a fun, quick and easy card to make. You can use any DSP you have to create a card like this. So grab your scraps, grab your retired DSP and make some quick cards in no time.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
