The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
I cut a 3-3/4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock for the top layer.
Next I cut an 13/16" x 3-3/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the 6" x 6" Subtles stack. I thought the top layer could use a bit of soft color.
I took the Basic White piece of card stock and starting at 1-3/4" from the top edge I scored the backside. Then I added two more score lines going upward (closer to the top edge). Now this is where the 13/16" space comes into play. I set that strip of DSP on my card and marked lightly where I needed to make the next three score lines that would go below the DSP.
Once the score lines were done I taped the strip of DSP in place.
The words came next. They are from the new "The Right Words" set. I stamped them using Pretty Peacock ink.
Now the fun began. I set out the 16 pieces of Washi tape that I had die cut. Oh, I forgot to mention. I affixed the Washi tape to a 3-1/4" x 6" piece of Basic White card stock. I thought it was too transparent to just use it as it is. Plus I thought it might stick to my die cutting machine or pick up tiny slivers of card stock imbedded in the plate. So my best thought was to affix it to some white card stock and cut them out that way. It's Washi tape so if I wanted I could always remove the card stock. But I'm keeping it on there and using them as they are.
I found some images that I thought would look good on my card and I set them in place. The larger floral image was set in place using a few Dimensionals. The greenery behind it was set in place using tape.
I added a couple of the smaller flowers near the word piece. The larger one was set in place using a Dimensional and the smaller one was taped in place.
Dimensionals were added to the back of the piece and it was set in place on the front of the card. And that was it. Super simple and fun.
This could be used for several other occasions too, it's versatile!
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
