Extraordinary Flora, Simply Said, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you using one of my favorite layouts for small images. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. Once cut it measured 4-1/4" x 11". It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Granny Apple Green card stock for the layer.

On top of the Granny Green Apple piece is a 3-1/2" x 4-5/8" piece of Basic White.

The top two layers are made next. The card stock layer measures 3" x 4-1/8" and the Designer Series Paper (DSP) layer measures 2-7/8" x 4".  The DSP is from the "Florals in Bloom" 12" x 12" package.

To make the openings I lightly taped the DSP to the card stock layer in the area where the hole would be punched. Using my 1-1/4"circle punch I punched the two pieces at the same time. Now you want to make sure that the pieces are sitting the way they will be taped together so everything will line up when done.

The DSP was then cut again. You will be cutting a little thin ring from the circle. I used a scrap piece of copier paper behind the DSP because it's such a tiny piece your punching and it could rip or get caught in the punch. I used the 1-3/8" circle punch for that. Once the circles were punched I taped the DSP to the card stock. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set aside.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I cut them out using the die from the "Stylish Shapes" set. Dimensionals were added to the back and they were set aside.

Now to assemble the card. The large Granny Apple Green piece was taped to the card base. Then the Basic White piece. The DSP layered piece was set in place on top of that.

The little flower is from the "Extraordinary Flora" Washi tape. I cut the images out using the matching die. I did set the Washi tape on Basic White card stock before cutting. I had used these images in the last two cards I posted and there's still some pieces left. I thought this little flower would be perfect for this card layout. I taped the flower inside the circle. The words were added and the card was done.

I have always liked this layout for the smaller images. It just highlights them in that little layered circle! How fun is that?

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
