The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Damask Designs" embossing folder. I glued it to the card base and set it aside. I like to set a piece of copier paper on top and then set a punch or something heavy on it to keep it flat. Though the mono glue doesn't usually make your card stock warp. It's just a habit I have.
Next I cut the rectangles from the 6" x 6" "Subtles" stack using the "Perennial Postage" dies. As you can see I cut two. I glued them to the front of the card about 5/8" from the fold and 3/4" from the bottom for the left one and for the right one it's 5/8" from the edge and 5/8" from the top. I eyed it and didn't get them exactly the same but who's going to see it's off by such a small amount?
The flowers are from the "Florals in Bloom" 12" x 12" package and were fussy cut. I was watching a movie and thought I'd cut some flowers out but wasn't thinking about what to do with them. I just can't watch tv without doing something. I was in my workroom so that means fussy cutting. If I were in our living room I would have been crocheting popcorn! Yup, I said popcorn. I'm crocheting popcorn for our Christmas tree this year. I have a bunch of wooden beads I'm painting the color of cranberries and I plan on making popcorn and cranberry garland. It's fun to crochet them and the don't take long at all to make. I have 350 done and I am shooting for 500. I'm not sure how many I will need but I figured if I make too many I'll just put them in a bowl and set them out. I'll post it on here when I get it done. Anyway, I took the flowers and added them to the front of the card. Dimensionals were added to the largest flower and I set it in place in the center of the card.
The two darker flowers were added using glue and the leaves were added using tape.
The words are from "The Right Words" set and were stamped using Petunia Pop ink on Basic White card stock. I cut the piece to measure 2-1/4" x 1-3/4". The Petunia Pop card stock behind it measures 2-3/8" x 1-7/8". I taped the layers together. Dimensonals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card and the card was done.
This was pretty fun to make, especially with all of the pieces cut in advance.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's thinking of you card,
Wanda
