Peaceful Pier, With You In Mind, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a masculine birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Pretty Peacock card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock for the top layer.

Next I cut my Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Nature Walk" 12" x 12" package.  You can make two cards using this layout. I cut two different colors of DSP at 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" and then I cut them on the diagonal. I also cut a piece of scrap card stock just shy of 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" and I taped the two pieces of DSP to it.  I laid this piece on top of the Basic White piece so I could see where the words would be going.

The words are from the "With You In Mind" set and were stamped using Pretty Peacock ink

The rectangle piece was set in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals.

The fish is from the "Peaceful Pier" set and was stamped using black Memento ink. I colored it in using my Old Olive Blends pens. I mostly stuck with the light pen and colored over a few areas twice. On the fins I added a little dark Old Olive and then blended it in with the light Old Olive. I punched the fish out using a 2-1/2" circle punch. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place just off center on the rectangle.

I tried to make it look like bubbles coming out of the fishes mouth using the clear dots from the "Ladybug Garden" embellishments. And that was it.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. I love using this layout, it's fun to mix DSP sheets this way.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's masculine birthday card,
Wanda
