Cute as a Bug, Sweet Bugs, With You in Mind, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today was such a busy day and I was glad that most of the items to make this card were sitting on my worktable.  It's much like yesterday's card. Please read on to see how it was made.

For yesterday's card I had cut the Designer Series Paper (DSP) form the "Cute as a Bug" 12" x 12" package. I cut two different designs of paper to measure 3-1/2" x 2-3/8" and then I cut them on the diagonal.  In doing this it created the opportunity to make two cards. I left the extra pieces on my worktable from yesterday's card and with my day being SO busy today I was glad it was there for me to whip up another card in a flash.

I had cut a piece of Basic White card stock measuring just shy of 3-1/2" x 2-3/8" and I taped the pieces of DSP to it.

For the base of my card I cut a half-sheet of Basic White card stock and folded that in half. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

The largest layer measures 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" and the Basic White layer measures 4' x 5-1/4".  I set the DSP piece on top of this layer so I could get a better idea of where the words would go. I used the same wording as yesterday. They are from the "With You in Mind" set and were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink.

After I was done stamping I taped the DSP piece in place leaving equal space on the top and sides.

For today's version of the card I took a scrap piece of Basic White card stock and cut a stitched circle from the "Stylish Shapes" set. I used the 4th largest circle in that set.  I taped it to the center of the DSP piece.

The bug is from the "Cute as a Bug" package of DSP and was cut using the matching die in the "Sweet Bugs" bundle. I set it in place using Dimensionals.

I added a little ladybug from the "Ladybug Garden" epoxy shapes package and the card was done.

It was great to use up these pieces to make another fun kids card. I like it that I was able to catch a little bee in the DSP.  It wasn't planned but I was happy it worked out that way! This was a fun card to make too! I really do like playing with this layout. Not just because it's small and different but that you can make two cards with that layout.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
