Fragrant Layers, Simply Said, Extraordinary Flora Washi Tape, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you using the "Extraordinary Flora" washi tape. I found this card on Pinterest. You can see the original card by clicking here.  There was no link to the original designer so I had nothing to go by. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock to use as a layer to tape/glue the other pieces to.  For the washi tape panel, I tolled out the tape on a piece of Basic White card stock that was as wide (about 3-1/4") and to where the color changed from Melon Mambo to Fresh Freesia color (about 5-1/4"). I trimmed the piece to make sure it was 5-1/4".  It could be trimmed a little less if needed, just remember to trim the quarter sheet down too.

I used the "Stone & Vine" embossing folder on Basic White card stock for the side panel. I textured a full quarter sheet and then trimmed off 1-1/2" which could have been 1-3/4" (I think that might have looked better) but I had already cut my piece off (I was making two cards at one time) so I just went with what I cut off. I glued that piece to the left and on top of the left side of the washi tape.

Using the matching die, I cut out a section of flowers. I had affixed them to another piece of Basic White card stock. This time I didn't have to be so perfect setting the tape on the card stock. I just made sure it covered the tape. I set the die in place and cut the flowers and leaves. I used 6 of them for this card. The rest I put in a little baggie to use at another date (maybe!).

I took my silicone mat (if you don't have one, use the backing from your Dimensonals, it's a non-stick surface) and I added Dimensionals to the larger flower and then I just slipped the other items under it until I got them to where I liked the look. I turned the piece over and added double sided tape to any area that didn't have a Dimensional showing and I set the piece in place on the textured side of the card.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on Basic Beige card stock.  I cut them out using the die from the "Fragrant Layers" bundle. The die has a pretty frame but I omitted it. I tried to cut one out using a contrasting color but it just didn't look nice so I just used the center part. I offset the words so there would be room for the flower at the end. Oh, by the way, that piece measures 3-1/4" x 1/2" if you need to cut one without a die. I glued the word piece in place.

The little flower was set in place using a Dimensional and the card was done.

I had fun putting this card together. I love lots of little pieces and it was quick and easy to do too.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
