The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. On top of it is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock that was textured using the "Damask Designs" embossing folder. I had run across this piece already cut and textured so I thought I'd use that up too. I glued it to the front of the card.
The rectangles in the background are from a strip on DSP from the "Lovely Blossoms" package. The flower in the front is also from that strip. These pieces were sitting loose in the package because I had cut them apart and used some other image from the sheet they were on. I didn't want them to get ruined (which happens a lot when I just drop these pieces back in the package) so I thought I'd put them together to make a super quick card. I had glued the two background pieces down about 1/8" from the edges of the textured piece of card stock.
The floral piece was set in place in the center of the card using Dimensionals.
The "hello" is from the "Choose Happy" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on Basic white card stock. They were cut out using the huge die from the "Banner Sayings" bundle. I said huge because that die cuts out a bunch of different size an shapes for your words. It fits with some of the other Stampin' Up! words in sets so I found it very versatile. I set the "hello" in place on the lower part of the floral piece using a couple of small Dimensionals and the card was done.
I didn't want to add any bling to the card, I just wanted to keep it simple and clean. I was glad I was able to use those pieces before they got ruined and I was thrilled to have run across that textured piece before it got ruined too!
It was fun putting this together and I really loved how quick it was to make a card! I do love making cards with lots of layers and pieces and sometimes it's just fun to make one that is quick and simple!
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,
Wanda
