Cute as a Bug, With You In Mind, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you using one of my favorite layouts.  This is one of those two for cards. Once the Designer Series Paper (DSP) is cut you can usually make two cards from it, depending on the orientation of the images on the DSP.  Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Poppy Parade card stock for the large layer. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock.

I cut a 3-1/2" x 2-3/8" piece of DSP from the "Cute as a Bug" 12" x 12" package. I used two different images and I cut them on the diagonal. Make sure you cut the diagonal the same (left to right or right to left) on each piece.  I also cut a piece of Basic White card stock that was just shy of 3-1/2" x 2-3/8" and taped the diagonal pieces to it. I cut it a bit shy so the DSP could be put on it without any white showing on the edges. You can pretty much use any color you want to go behind the DSP, it's not going to show.

I laid the diagonal piece on top of the Basic White piece so I could see where the words would go. The words I used are from the "With You in Mind" set and were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink.

Next I taped the rectangle piece to the front of the card leaving equal spacing on the sides and top.

I taped the Basic White piece on top of the Poppy Parade piece and then that was taped on top of the card base.

The adorable bug is from the same "Cute as a Bug" package of DSP and was die cut using the "Sweet Bugs" bundle. Dimensionals were added behind the piece and it was set in place on the front of the card.

I added a little ladybug from the "Ladybug Garden" to the leaf and the card was done.

I think I'm going to put this in my "kids" birthday cards container.  I think ladies would prefer flowers over bugs!! I know I would. LOL. I will see what I can come up with using the other pieces from this "two for" card.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
