Gears & Texture, Fabulous Sayings, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a masculine card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my crd is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Nature Walk" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the front of the card.

Then I cut a 2-1/4" x 5" piece of Basic White card stock for the long strip. On that strip I taped three 1-1/2" x 2" pieces of Blueberry Bushel card stock that I had textured using the "Exposed Brick" embossing folder. I dragged my Versa Mark pad across it and sprinkled silver embossing powder on it. I heat set the powder. I had cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Blueberry Bushel card stock and worked from that. I have a 2-1/4" strip I will save for a future card. I did the whole quarter sheet so I could pick and choose where I wanted to cut my pieces from. I taped those pieces in place on top of the Basic White strip. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the left side of the card about 1/4" from the fold.

Next I cut some gears from the "Gears & Texture" bundle. I cut a few Basic Black pieces and some silver foil card stock pieces. I only had the shiny foiled card stock so I just used what I had on hand.  I glued the pieces in place that touched the panel and Dimensionals on the parts that touched the DSP.

The words are from the "Fabulous Sayings" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on Basic White card stock. I was going to set it on the card as a strip but it just looked too big so I ended up fussy cutting it. In doing that it toned down the brightness of the white. And it was REALLY bright as a long rectangle.  And that was it, the card was done.

This was a fun card to make. The gears are fun to play with and I want to play with this set a bit more. I found some great cards on Pinterest to try.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's masculine birthday card,
Wanda
