Autumn Toile, Simply Said, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a masculine birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Early Espresso was cut for the top layer.

The Designer Series Paper (DPS) is from the "Autumn Toile" 12" x 12" package. I cut it into 4 strips that measure 3-5/8" x 1-1/8". I chose the green from the package because I thought it was one of the more difficult pieces to use. All the strips are from the same sheet of DSP. I taped them down on top of the Early Espresso layer.

I took some linen thread and wrapped it around the piece twice and tied a knot to hold it in place. I taped the back of the piece and set it on the front of the card base.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using Early Espresso ink. I cut them out using the "Labeled with Love" die. I didn't buy the punch when these were available, I opted for the 3 piece die set. Which I have no regret because when I cut the word piece out, I took anther die and cut one of Early Espresso at the same time.

I cut the Early Espresso piece in half the long way. I added tape to the top and bottom of the word piece and added the Early Espresso pieces so it looked like it was a one piece layer. Dimensionals were added to the back and the words were set in place over the linen thread.  And the card was done.

This was a super quick and easy card to make, plus it's a perfect way to use busy DSP.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's masculine birthday card,
Wanda

You're right - this is a great masculine card! I love the color of it, too. :-)
