The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
The textured pieces was made using the "Layered Floral" embossing folder (retiring in about 10 days or so, I'm going to miss this folder, it's SO pretty). Basic White card stock was used for this textured piece. I used a 4" x 5-1/4" piece because I didn't know where I was going with this card at the time. I ended up cutting it to 5" long and then I decided to cut the piece in half. So the piece now measured 5" x 2". I glued it to a 5-1/4" x 2-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock. Then I taped that to the left side of the card about 1/4" from the fold, top and bottom. Now you can wait to tape this down and add the words or you can just go for it. I just went for it, mostly because I wasn't thinking as I was working the card.
So now it was time for the words. I thought this would be a pretty wedding card or anniversary card, or just a friendship card. I went with the "hello" from the "Simply Said" set (which is going to retire too). I used Smoky Slate ink to stamp the words.
The butterfly is from the "Sketched Butterflies" bundle (which is also going to retire). I cut it from a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I added a Dimensional behind the butterfly and set it in place on the front of the card. I was going to add pearls or rhinestones along the body but I opted to leave it blank for now.
This was such a super quick and easy card to make. I actually made two at the same time since I had the textured piece cut in half, why not make two? That extra piece would just sit on my worktable and maybe someday be used on a card. But today I thought I'd just go for it and I ended up with two cards and nothing left sitting around on my worktable. Win/win!
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,
Wanda
