Unbounded Love, Everyday Arches, Sympathy Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a sympathy card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock for the top layer.

The first thing I did with the top layer was to stamp the words. They are from the "Unbounded Love" bundle and were stamped using black Memento ink.

Then I flipped the piece over to add the scored lines. Since I wanted the score lines to be bumpy on the outside of the card I had to flip the piece over. I started the scoring about 1" from the left edge and I scored them at 1/8". I made seven score lines. Now you can do this after you cut the arched opening but I found it easy to get the score lines messed up with an opening in between them.

Once the score lines were done I took the third smallest die in the "Everyday Arches" die set and cut my opening. It's about 1-1/2" from the bottom edge of the piece and centered on the score lines. After cutting I put the piece back on the score board and went over my lines just to freshen them up. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set aside.

Next came the framed piece. I used the second and third smallest arched dies on a piece of Basic White card stock. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set aside.

The scenery image is from the "Thoughtful Journey" 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (DSP) stack and was cut at about 2-1/4" x 3-1/4".  I hovered over the piece of DSP until I found the image that I liked looking through that opening. I set that image on top of the card base and laid the top layer over it for placement. Once the DSP was where I liked it I held it in place and lightly drew a few small lines around the edge so I knew were to set it down once I taped the back.

Now that the image was in place I removed the backing from the Dimensionals on the scored piece.

The arched piece was added next and the card was done.

I thought about adding a brass dove but I liked the clean and simple look so I left it as it was.

This was a very quick and easy card to make, though it did take a lot of Dimensionals around that opening to make sure it didn't sag. But it was SO worth it.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's sympathy card,
Wanda
