The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White card stock for the top layer. I flipped it over and then scored around the edge at 1/4". I try to get as close to the 1/4" mark as I can without going over. Then I go back and match up the score lines. I turned it over because that's the side I want for the front of my card.
The flower sprigs are from the "Painted Lavender" bundle. I cut them from some Basic White card stock. I also cut a butterfly from that bundle and the flower is from the "Textured Floral" bundle. Using a piece of Old Olive card stock I cut the greenery from a die in the "Textured Floral" bundle.
I cut a 1-1/2" x 2" piece of Basic White card stock and a 1-3/8" x 1-7/8" piece of Basic Black card stock. I taped these two pieces together. I laid it on the lower part of the scored piece so I could see where the words would go. The words are from the "Heart Shaped" (retired) bundle and were stamped using black Memento ink. It was the only set I had with a tiny "hello" but you can substitute any wording you would like.
Once the words were stamped I taped the scored piece to the front of the card base.
Next I taped the black and white piece on the lower part of the card about 3/8" from the bottom edge and right side. I pressed down on the middle because I wasn't sure where I was going to put the greenery. I ended up slipping one of the Old Olive pieces under the upper right corner of the black and white piece and then I pressed the entire piece down.
I added a dot of glue and set the long Basic White pieces in place. I added the other Old Olive piece in place and then the flower piece was added using a Dimensional that I cut in half.
I took some Baker's Twine and pulled the threads apart. I tied them in a bow and glued it to the stems just under the flower.
The butterfly was set in place with a Dimensional that was cut in half. And that was it, the card was done.
This was a fun card to make and I was happy to know I had enough different dies to make it look close to the original with some minor changes.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card.
