Cake Celebrations, Simply Said, Heart Shaped, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White and textured it using the "Distressed Tile" embossing folder. I glued that to the card base.

Next I cut the "Countryside Corners" dies using Basic White and Fresh Freesia card stock. I taped the two layers together.

The cake is from the "Cake Celebrations" bundle. The cake layers are from a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Beautiful Bokeh" 12" x 12" package. There's two dies for the layered cake. The "frosting" in between and on top were die cut using gold foil card stock. And the cake stand is from a scrap piece of Blackberry Bliss card stock. I used the flower dies and a scrap piece from the "Bloom Impressions" 12" x 12" package that was part of the Sale-a-Brations free items.

I taped the cake stand down first and then the "cake" pieces. The frosting pieces were added next and then the flowers. I added a tiny pearl to the center of each flower.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using Blackberry Bliss ink. I cut them out using the "Heart Shaped" bundle from the Sale-a-Brations free items.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the "Countryside Corners" layers and it was set in place on the front of the card about 3/8" from the top and centered, equal spacing on each side. I just eyed it.

The words were set in place using Dimensionals as well.  And the card was done.

I like the looks of this card but I'm thinking about removing the birthday words and going with wedding words. It looks more like a wedding cake than a birthday cake. It was fun to make. If you have sticky sheets I recommend you use them for the gold pieces, it's a bit messy gluing them and the glue doesn't like to come off the gold.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday/wedding card,
Wanda
