Blender Pen Fun!

This is one of the very first blender pen pictures I made. I had to make one so I knew what I was doing because the next night I was teaching a class on it! It was a lot of fun and a VERY quick way to color your images in.
The image was embossed and then the colors were blended it. I took my finished one and I framed it! This is such a pretty stamp.
In all mediums you want to start with the lightest colors first and work your way to the darkest ones. You can always go darker on your image but you can never go lighter once the color is down. This was done on regular white card stock. Watercolor paper would be a better paper to use for something like this since there is a LOT of area to cover. Regular card stock will pill if you work an area too long. Watercolor paper is designed tougher to allow you to work on areas longer.
HELPFUL HINT: When coloring in images that have been embossed, using any type of medium it's best to have a paper towel handy to blot the top of the image now and then. Most of the mediums you are working with will bead up on top of the embossed area. You could lean the side of your hand in it and smear the colors into areas you don't want.

A very lovely card. I love to canoe. It is a peaceful way to travel on water.
