Peaceful Garden, Greetings of the Season, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a beautiful Christmas card that I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card by clicking here.  There were no instructions there to tell how to make this card, so I had to wing it. Please read on to see how I put the card together. 

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Night of Navy card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White was cut and then taped on the inside.

The next layer is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock. I think Secret Sea card stock was used but my supply of it is limited. It's so dark that Basic Black is a perfect substitute. I taped this to the front of the card.

Next I cut the Designer Series Paper (DPS) from the "Peaceful Garden" 12" x 12" package. I cut the top part at 3-7/8" x 3-1/2" and the bottom piece was cut at 3-7/8" x 1-1/2".  

On the smaller piece of DSP I stamped the "Merry Christmas" from the "Greetings of the Season" bundle.  I used Night of Navy ink. I had just added ink to my pad and it's amazing how nice and clean it stamps when the ink pad has just the right amount of ink on it. I tend to make them too juicy and I have a big mess. I managed to do it just right today. I hope I remember how I did that when I need to add ink to more pads. Wish me luck on that! I taped the two pieces of DSP on the front of the card.

The doves are from another sheet of DSP from the same package. I used a die from the "Spotlight on Nature" set. After looking at the original card closer that piece was cut using a glittered sheet. I don't have any of it so I ended up just adding some Wink of Stella to the edge. It gave it a little sparkle. Sometimes you just have to do what you can with what you have.  Dimensionals were added to the back of this piece and it was set in place on the front of the card.

I took some "Candy Dots" (retired) and using my dark Night of Navy Blends pen and I colored three dots. I let them dry for a couple of minutes and I set them in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a super quick and easy card to make and I REALLY like this layout. I'm going to have to make another one using copier paper for my stack of templates. I like to have my templates in 3d. I like to see the layers and I also write the date on the front when the template was used so I can go back and look at it and see the details for more ideas or for clarity.
