Fragrant Layers, Banner Sayings, Fabulous Sayings, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a friendship card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5" piece of Soft Sea Foam card stock for the largest layer. Before I did anything else, I cut the rectangle piece from the "Fragrant Layers" bundle. And I cut the three leaf dies at the same time. I made sure all of this cutting was done in the center area of the piece of card stock. I set it all aside.

Next I die cut the floral image using the die from the "Fragrant Layers" bundle on Secret Sea card stock.

Then I cut the wider flower layer that you see on the inside of the flowers. I used the die from the same "Fragrant Layers" on Bubble Bath card stock.

I cut another piece like I did with the Secret Sea piece so I could use it as a stencil to color in the areas where the flowers would be. I taped it in place so it would stay while I added the color. I used my blending brush and Bubble Bath ink for the flowers. Lemon Lolly for the flower centers and I didn't pay attention but I did color in the leaves in (so unnecessary since I had cut them from card stock DUH!).

I glued the Secret Sea to the Bubble Bath piece and then I glued on the leaves. Then I glued that to the stencil colored piece. I did trim my piece of Basic White card stock so it wouldn't stick out over the Secret Sea piece.

Next I taped that to the Soft Sea Foam piece. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the Basic White layer.

The words are from the "Fabulous Saying" set using black Memento ink on Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the die from the "Banner Sayings". I taped the words to the Soft Sea Foam piece. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card.

I thought the card could use a little something more so I took my Wink of Stella and colored in the inside of the flowers.

This was an interesting card to make. I thought it was a lot of work and I don't think it looks so great for all the effort that was put into it. I'm hoping to use the set again to make a card I will like more.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,
Wanda
