The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock, it opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.
I cut a 5-3/8" x 4-1/8" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock for the large layer. On top of that is a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Cute as a Bug" 12" x 12" package. It was cut from one of the sheets with several other designs on it, like the one the ladybug is sitting on. I taped the DSP to the large Mossy Meadow layer and then I taped that to the front of the card.
Speaking of that piece, I trimmed it a little so it measures 2-3/4" x 3-1/2" and the Mossy Meadow layer behind it measured 3-7/8" x 3-5/8". I taped the two pieces together. Now this is where the "Hello" should have been stamped. It's from the "Choose Happy" set. I forgot and had to stamp it with the Dimensionals on the back. UGH! But it worked. Anyway, once the words were stamped using black Memento ink, Dimensionals needed to be added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card. I eyed it so there was equal spacing on the top, bottom and left side.
The ant, single flower, lily of the valley, mushrooms and ladybug were cut using the matching dies in the "Sweet Bugs" bundle. Dimensionals were added to the back of all of them. They were set in place on the front of the card. I made sure the lily of the valley one was behind the ant's body so it looked like it was part of the background. I had laid it on the DSP and it looked like it was floating in the air. But once the ant was in front of it, it looked like it was in the ground. Nice save!
I was going to add one of those cute ladybug embellishments but I forgot. I'm not sure it needs it and I'll give it some more thought but for now this is what the card looks like.
This was a very fun card to make. It reminded me of those vinyl scenes I used to play with as a kid. I believe they were called "Color Forms". I'm dating myself here! LOL. Except Color Forms weren't set up on Dimensionals but they were set on a background scene. Anyway, it was a fun nostalgic little trip down memory lane.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,
Wanda
