The Right Words, Charming Day, Elements of Text, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that has been on my bucket list for quite some time now. Today I was actually able to find time to sit down and work on it. You can see the original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 5-3/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Crumb Cake card stock for the top layer. I taped it in place on the front of the card.

Next I cut a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of Crumb Cake for the top layer. I stamped the word circle from the "Elements of Text" set. I stamped off once using Crumb Cake ink. Then I used the splatter stamp in the same set but I stamped off two times because only once was a bit too dark. Using my blending brush I brushed the edges with Early Espresso ink.

I die cut the leaves from the "Charming Day" bundle. There's a long set and a small cluster. I cut two of each. Then using the blending brush with the Early Espresso ink I brushed it over all the die cut pieces.

The floral image is from the same bundle and was stamped using Early Espresso ink. I colored the leaves with both light and dark Crumb Cake Blends and the flowers with both light and dark Petal Pink Blends. Dimensionals were added to the back.

I added some tape to the area that the flowers would be covering so I could stick the leaves in place. I took the floral piece and hovered over the area and set the leaves in place. Once the leaves were in place I trimmed a little bit of the stems because they seemed to be piled up in the center. Then I stamped the words. They are from "The Right Words" set and were stamped using Early Espresso ink. The piece was then taped to the front of the card.

The floral piece was added next and I stuck on some retired Polished Glass pieces and the card was finished.

The original card had the top piece set in place with Dimensionals but I thought it would be too thick to mail so I just popped up the flowers only. Either way it's a pretty card. See why I just had to make one?

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
